Maybe Horangi, anything is possible.
King could take charge for the game and they could announce the permanent manager just before before kick off. That would make rule interpretation exciting. |

Gone now I am afraid Mr Brush, the Sportsbook chopped their odds from 15.0 to 4.5.
The only reason I know the Sportsbook rules are the same as on the exchange is because @betfairhelp have confirmed this on their twitter feed. I have looked again at the Sportsbook rules this morning and for the life of me I cannot find any written indication on how they might settle that market. Mick is going short this morning and if I was a Sportsbook punter and backed Mick at 1.5 only to find that he was appointed after the Poland game I would be miffed. @betfairhelp seem unable to point anyone to where the Sportsbook market rule is actually written down. |

As for caution on the rules, betfair have now confirmed on a number of occasions that the rules are identical and I don't see how they can backtrack on that. it's just a pain to have to ask them what the rules are on each new manager market. Bizarre but true :~(

It's a puzzler George. If I was a naive newbie I would be laying the crap out of him based solely on the news flow and the probable tiny amounts of money that bookies need to move their odds.

Slovenia are set to pay their first ever visit to Dublin with the FAI expected to confirm over coming days that Srecko Katenic’s side will provide the opposition on Friday November 15th, the first of what had been hoped would be World Cup play-off dates for the side.
The association has already announced that Ireland will play Poland four days later in Poznan. It remains unclear whether there is any chance that a new manager will be in place to take charge of the Ireland team for the game and it is looking highly unlikely at this stage that there will be one to name the squad by the required date, but it is believed that at least one of the candidates for the job has been told that a decision should be taken by the association within the the next two weeks. |

Why is there a concern of the FAI appointing a manager before the friendly and him not taking charge of it? What am I missing.

Notwithstanding paragraph 1, an individual appointed by the FAI on an ‘interim’, ‘caretaker’, ‘temporary’ or similar basis who remains national coach in that capacity for at least 3 completed consecutive full senior international games (including, for the avoidance of doubt, friendly games), will be considered to have been appointed as the next national coach for the purpose of this market and Betfair will settle the market accordingly on that person.
