Noel King for Ireland manager

Great value on this bet at the moment, because, although he wont get the job full time by most manager markets, he should get it according to betfair rules, which state he only has to manage for 3 games. He has been guaranteed 2 already, and the FAI said they hope to have someone before christmas, but might not. There will be another friendly on November 14th. So, there is a great chance he will be in charge for that too. That would qualify him for the job according to betfair rules, and no other betting company.

the november game will be during the playoffs. Ireland are not in it, so they will wait until it is clear who is playing, before organising it. Most teams will wait, as it is a week off premier league games.

Is this going to become the official next ROI manager market? If so a few of things to be going along with:

-Hiddink in on the shortlist to become the Socceroos manager. He want to be at the 2014 World Cup says his agent.

-Rumour had it that MON was too expensive for the FAI. It's always possible that they may meet in the middle but that's not the info I have atm.

-What was in the head of fergie backers? He reiterated again today that he won't manage again.

The head of the FAI said he hopes to have a manager in place before Christmas, but if it takes longer, so be it. Last time they took about 3 or 4 months to choose a manager. Our next competitive game is in 10 or 11 months. So a decent chance King gets the next game too.

Yep with November 19th being the finish line "The FAI confirmed that high performance director Ruud Dokter and former international Ray Houghton will report to the Board of Management on their progress in identifying potential candidates to replace Trapattoni as international manager in the run up to the Poland match.

That meeting will come early in November ahead of the announcement of a squad for the game in Poznan."

Caveated but it seems to me that King's price on Betfair, exchange & sportsbook, ought to be 95% based on the probability of the FAI not appointing somebody else before 19th November. The same cannot be said of the appropriate price at the purple place and many bookies where they pay out based on a permanent replacement and not on a 3 game rule. Based on that probability I would put King shorter that 4.0 on the Sportsbook and 8.8 on the Exchange.

One caveat is that somebody might know something not in the public domain (mach's unanswered question above) and the second caveat is that Nige, my market manager guru, hasn't commented yet.

There was decent money late last night wanting to lay King heavily. Impossible to know if itk or just foolish.

Based on the latest you would certainly think King has a real shot of being in charge for the next friendly. Holding out hope for Mr. Cooper, but in this market setup losing faith.

Where money sits and waits instead of swooping I am more inclined to think it not an ITK.

It swooped what was available at the time. And offered large blocks to back in the 5's.

There is another scenario where Dokter or somebody else from the FAI take charge of the next friendlies instead of King. Perhaps King doesn't want to bother anymore or the FAI don't want him to take charge again.
