The market is all over place as the money buyers turn up to back Denmark.
Russia came into 13 last night. Today it drifted out to 21 and is now being backed a little again |
|
By:
the backers for denmark are no doubt placing here to get better odds then the bookies and as the price shortens here the bookies will shorten their prices which in turn the backers will back on here to get the best prices and so continues the price shortening spiral.

Netherlands, Ireland, Malta, Italy, Georgia, Russia, my greens. In that order

Any plans to make any others green?
I am happy to see you have Norway red, and I appreciate Germany could easily be buried with a terrible draw. I am hoping they will choose her to close out the first half, but I doubt it. If you want to turn Azer green, I would do so now. |

My experience last year with sweden is that on Saturday itself a lot in the betting ranks 3-10 drifted enormously as though they had no chance. Serbia went 12's to 19's iirc. If Denmark gets pimp or near pimp I'd expect a repeat.
Just a word of warning for those perhaps tempted by the current odds on these ![]() |
|
By:
Azer only a small red and I am tempted to turn it into a small green at the price.
I don't think the song is much cop but the staging is very inventive and Azer have a superb record. |
|
By:
I'll give odds on that Denmark will get the pimp slot as the pyros and glitter will be a good spectacular if the organisers want to end the show with a spectacular showing and not end with a ballard. Evens for a 21-25 slot.

I take the point Bex, and am taking a cautious approach - keeping them decent greens at the current price with a view to topping up further if the same happens on Saturday. I am concerned - mainly with Azer and Georgia - that their current prices will shorten and not recover with a good show tonight, and some luck in the draw.

By:
It would be too obvious to put Denmark in pimp - what they may do is put it 20 or 21 just before the last mini-break, and then end with a much weaker song. They could maybe get away with doing that more.

Norway, altho I like it, is rather cold and I can see it flopping. If the charming Lena could only come 10th with a similarly cold song, that also had very good staging, then Norway could struggle to even make the top 10

crap i cant be bothered typing that again ^^ stupid forum

LOL no chance of top 10 for me, but price must be tempting.

Iceland is my one at a similar price with outside top 10 chances.

I have Lithuania green to win too

I have the same doudts re Noray leaves as we have discussed before, unlike Denmark which seems assured of a good finish, it could bomb out completely. Personally I can't see the comparison to Lena's song
However the flip side is it's one of the few with any kind of real wow factor for me and just could get enough support to win this. |
|
By:
They are very different songs in many ways. Norway more uptempo and vocally more powerful, but it has a similarly rather cold, industrial feel to it.
|
|
By:
I really like it. But it took me about 6 or 7 listens
|
|
By:
There was another cold feeling song, well thought of, but more uptempo still "Cool Vibes" that could only manage very low top 10 too.

missed the 1st semi so only just seen the denmark song. is there really nothing better this year that was irritating to say the least.
|
|
By:
I have got the CD on now, and what really strikes me is that of all the songs performed on Tuesday, most as you would expect - sounded better on CD, than live. The Lithuanian song is the exception. It was way better on Tuesday than the studio version.

Plenty better, gitg, but give the Eurovision punters some drumming and pipes and they go gaga. A violin has the same effect on them.
pk - I prefer the more downbeat version from the nation final, but I suspect the new version is more voter friendly |

Semi 2 thread open for tonight's show.

|
By:
ol pk, as everyone knows I only post genuine opinion. The price dropping is of no real interest to me.
I played the entry to a few people at work, the response was lukewarm to be honest. Only from my phone tho. |

Who am I:
“Aren’t I so fantastic? I don’t have to have any structure in my song, I just need to utter sounds of beauty? And I can negate artistic merit by creating a self indulgent mess. And still win.” I like this person, so say that with humour, not malice. |
