If Netherlands sweeps the juries like Italy did a couple of years ago then it can win.
I tend to prefer the more up tempo songs anyway - it needs an exceptional ballad to capture my imagination. Some decent judges here and on other forums rate this song but really to me this is so very very very dull. I'd be very surprised to see this do well in the public vote even in such a poor year. |

Last catchy song I like in 2010 didn't even qualify http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnImIrB4ROw

Went from 80s to about 20s on the back of her SF performance, thought I was on to a FLL Little Mix huge price winner, wasn't to be though! :( !

Amazing that it never qualified.
Last year Denmark that was a catchy number and well fancied almost failed too. The year before Estonia only just scraped through You do get some very surprising results |

Lovely Anna came 11th in her semi in 2010 - it was a lot better than some of the rubbish that got through in that semi (Cyprus, Israel & Ireland for 3) but it was a tough semi, she had a poor draw in 6 & it shows how the long odds-on shots can get turned over. Turkey 2011 was another boil over.

I like an uptempo song and I like a ballard also but I always vote for the song that stands out better than the others on the night.
I very much liked Hungary 2011 which also was the OGAE poll winner that year but on the night the performance was poor and ended up 18th. I didn't rate Serbia 2007 at all from the perview video but on the night it stood out better then anything else and I knew that this could well win from the performance and it did. A song can sound fantastic being shown on a preview video or on a CD but on the night is where it counts and if the live performance is poor and not as good as it sounds on the preview video or on CD then its not going to get that many votes. An example being Cyprus 2007 (was one of my favourites) where it failed to qualify and it deserved not too from seeing and hearing the live performance. A song can sound mediocre on a preview video but on the night can give a fantastic performance that will move people to vote for it and win. It's all about live performance on the night for me and a fantastic performance that stands out better than the others will get my vote. |

Let us try to decide which entry or entries shouldn't botch it up when they go live in front of the millions watching them.
By:
I believe that Denmark has huge potential for a botch up given the out of tune voice style.
By:
Italy guy seems professional enough to avoid making mistakes on the night .However I am not keen on his facial expressions -in particular the varying directions of his eyes.
By:
Ukraine for me could very easily flop on night since her voice gets painfully high as if she is on the toilette at times.
By:
Sweden guy could dance himself off the stage.
By:
Netherlands may have her share of critics - and there are loads of them - to sleep - but artist is professional enough from what we know to keep her nerve on the night.
By:
Romania guy looks confident enough on stage but the ultra high notes could prove his undoing - then again he may have a few secrets up his sleeve to enhance the performance

The Russian girl looked and sounded a bit flat in a very recent video, and although I am worried about her, she could easily produce a stunner on the night.

By:
Norway is not for me and a similar screech song to Gravity.
By:
There is a certain air of confidence as I watched the Belarus entry.Should be alright
By:
Germany - Cascada is a disco queen and should grab the limelight to ensure a solid display
By:
Georgia - Lady brims with confidence buy not too sure about her uninspiring male partner
By:
San Marino - no lack of confidence and could be a little springer.
By:
The Hungarian guy seems very confident.
But he shouldn´t be. |

With a good draw the big money backed on Denmark between 4.5 and 5.5 will look super sweet.
By:
Has to be said, on a whole, it's a dirge year. I usually have 4 or 5 on my MP3 player by now but Denmarks the only one. Maybe a few will catch on but hasn't happened yet!

Emmelie fans must be relieved shes finally chosen her dress for the occasion. A question only SUNSHINE can answer though, is there too much of the boobies being revealed and will this put the voters off ?

Crazy

By:
double finger trouble or a bot gone mad ? - was layed out to 10.0 minutes before
By:
No idea Dicky. There have certainly been some crazy prices taken this year. I was happy to lay some 6.2 in the 1st plunge. I slept through the 2nd one
![]() |
By:
Yep, certainly crazy.
Lay price on Ukraine didn't change at all it was the backing price that went down to 1.29, now the price is more or less where it was before. Prices may well change next week to reflect on the impression of rehearsals should the rehearsal videos appear online. |
By:
We should get videos for the 2nd rehearsals and hopefully some might sneak out from the 1st.
Otherwise we'll have to rely on the bloggers. |
By:
yeah hope so. I would rather see the videos so then I can judge for myself rather then rely on what the bloggers post. Fingers crossed.
By:
Same here, as I strongly disagreed about some of the rehearsals, even with the bloggers I respect
