Pretty sure the Snub will be taken badly by the Public vote, that along with campaigns to see McCoy win it make the 1.05 a lay in my book.

Once the Scots HAVE voted for wee Nicholas, their phones will be out of credit and barred so they will not be able to vote for "Andy The Invisible" the following evening.
There is also a > 5% chance that the storm forecast will bring down the Scottish phone lines and internet this weekend allowing AP or English Ben to romp home.

The Sad Truths of Internet Trolls:

Trolls are immune to criticism and logical arguments. True trolls cannot be reasoned with, regardless of how sound your logical argument is.
Trolls do not feel remorse like you and me. They have sociopathic tendencies, and accordingly, they delight in other people having hurt feelings.
Trolls consider themselves separate from the social order.
Trolls do not abide by etiquette or the rules of common courtesy.
Trolls consider themselves above social responsibility.
Trolls gain energy by you insulting them.
Trolls gain energy when you get angry.
The only way to deal with a troll is to ignore him, or take away his ability to post online.

Nigel I think if you were to read all of your own SPOTY 2012 and 2013 forum posts as well as those of mine and all others, I believe you will find the above summary describes you rather more accurately than it describes me or anyone else and it appears from the recent posts I might not be the only one who feels this way. If you have any genuine and logical arguments which are in conflict to the views of others, you need only put them down in a reasonable, respectful, thoughtful and informative manner, (which is exactly what these forums are for), and you will gain universal respect and popularity whether you end up being right or wrong. If on the other hand you are only capable of listening to yourself, giving out banter and not taking any in return when others feel it is in fact you who is illogical, above criticism and full of self-praise, then that's a shame. We are a friendly and jovial lot in the specials markets and no-one wishes any ill will towards any other. Let's please keep it that way as best as we can Happy

The question we ought to ask is how far will Murray's price drift? Matches last night at 1.07 but I reckon we will still see it trading higher than that.

1/18 is a brilliant price to go to if you want to balance up your book.  Decimal slaves will see 1.06 on oddschecker  because they round up as well as down.  1.0555r innit

I suspect that their books and prices look much the same as many here.  Give Murray a bit of a bosh, crack out the corresponding lays then sit back and wait and see what gets taken.

Only a few more days of this to go and then we start really guessing for 2014.

Even 20 years ago, it was possible to do live video link ups. But in this day an age, surely attending goes as far as via videolink anyway. If he went as far as saying he wasn't going to even bother with that then I'd understand a change in odds, but not this.
By:
Jim Duncan
When: 11 Dec 13 17:07
...the problem is Darlo that in not attending it is likely to put the idea in many peoples minds that if 'Invisible Andy' cannot be bothered to attend his very own coronation and would rather just carry on getting some sunshine on his back in Miami, then why should they (the general public) be bothered to pick up the phone for him for something that he (Murray) is clearly not all that fussed about ~ whether any of this is true or not, this is the perception that has and will be created by his non-attendance:
"he can't be bothered so why should I? I'll vote for someone who can be bothered to attend"
By:
Darlo Bantam
When: 11 Dec 13 17:30
It's never stopped people voting for him before.

Mind, I've given up trying to work out quite how and why some of the Great British public votes for the dross it does. At least this is a genuine talent competition.

I think you would be disappointed in the number of votes / percentage of the votes he has actually received though, which I did mention in an earlier post at 12:24pm on November 28 and again at 12:49pm on November 30:

In his 7 years of shortlist nominations Murray has a best of 14.17% of the public vote in 2012 and in the all other 6 nominaton years a 2nd best of just 5.48% of the public vote. In 2011 McCoy secured 293k phone votes which was 41.98% of the overall vote ~ since 2006 under the current 'phone vote' system only Super-Smashing-Great Sprint 'King' Cav has done better in returning 49.47% of the vote. 293k would probably win the award again for AP andsubscribers to Horse and Hound are unlikely to be distracted by the shenanigans going on over on the other channel, but other demographics may well be. (Also difficult to see the sailing fraternity being sidetracked by the circus on the other side.) With decent opposition in the shape of Murray, AP supporters will be out in force, super motivated and passionate about bringing their man home by multi-voting him to yet another victory. Back in 2002 in his only previous shortlist outing, McCoy finished 3rd overall having secured 88k votes.

All in all what this points to is that whilst being a genuinely worthy frontrunner and favourite, Murray is simply far too short at 1.04/1.05 in a 90 minute public popularity contest given the nominees personal public profile and history...

Brilliant from Mccoy in 2002, never mind his win

88k more than enough for 2nd this year I'm sure
