her negatives for me if we are nit picking are her looks and her personality, she seemed a bit of a cold fish when interviewed on xtra factor. However maybe she will open up as the show goes on. Her positives being her voice and the weakness of the field.

That's true cj. Any flaws she has are tiny compared with the rest of the field.

It's always difficult to lead all the way on this show. Cardie kind of did it, though the market found a couple of challengers.
One of them a genuine challenger.

A couple might emerge from this mob and we'll see 3 ish at some stage. If no strong challengers do emerge, which strikes me as the most likely scenario, then she'll just continue to shorten.

There just HAS to be a challenger emerging from the pack somewhere, surely?!  It can't be this one-sided.

I disagree with the comments above about Ella's achilles heel though.  I think she's confident and articulate, but this doesn't overspill into arrogance like it did with Devlin.  She should be pliable enough for TPTB too, so my only worry is if she gets the wobble through being homesick.  16 years old is still very young to take the pressure of being such a hot favourite from start to finish.

33.29% of total increase is Ella. Which, alone, would imply odds of 3.00 if the vote was today.

(But the only thing today is me with too much time on my hands).

Henry

If she's got 34% of the vote doesn't that make her a 2/1 shot?  That would be more realistic in my eyes.  Like i say even money very skinny.

Some interesting Twitter stats on the link below.  The peak of 14,013 tweets per minute during James Arthur's performance will please GB!  He was also the most talked about act according to this article, getting mentioned in 52,000 tweets.

If you could trust the polls and then in 12 horse race 34% and 23% clear of the 2nd would make her a 1.01 shot if the vote was today

It’s too simplistic really Lou. We don’t know how many of those looked at 1, 2, 3…. or all the videos, which ones they missed out, did they like the video after watching it. It’s not the same as giving each person one vote and asking them who they’d vote for.

Women are a curious breed, difficult to predict what they like about a man. It seems to be James and not Kye.  I also think he's popular with the groovy teens

One obvious flaw is what`s known as `The Devlin Effect`. A static 34% of diehard fans, neither increasing nor decreasing, will, mathematically, guarantee exactly second place. So her price really should be 1000.
By:

When: 09 Oct 12 20:55
Fortunately she's not a misery with an annoyingly affected voice, so we're more likely to see the 'Quinn Effect' where someone who is a different class to their opponents increases their percentage as the final approaches and p1sses up.

fll  (and anyone else who might have mis-interpreted)

I do hope you realise the `flaw` I was referring to was in the theory that 34% equates to 3.0. I am NOT suggesting Ella should be 1000!

Vickers and Devlin had tones which were marmite, Ella is as commercial as it gets. The white, young, unassuming, less boring Leona Lewis in a dirge year, can't we just get paid out now?
