Just taking a quick look thru my bets. I laid Cyprus @ 12
on 06 Jan.So the market must have opened before that...and adds to my point about people willing to take silly prices earlydoors |
By:
Laid it @ 23 on 01 Jan.

Talking of the others drifting. Germany is an astonishing price.
Good looking lad, who appears to be eciting the female teens of europe more than the Norwegian kid. A song that is MEM friendly, jury friendly and has a good draw to boot. Plus with the European economy collapsing they'll be the only ones who'll be able to afford to host it next year ![]() |
By:
That affordable thing is one of the reasons my biggest two greens are Norway and France. Plus of course they're the two standout songs.

Does politics allow germany to win now? I know they did a few years ago, but that was when leather and armpit hair on women was popular
By:
New leader in France also good by my rationale. Last time UK won was errrrm, oh yes, the day after Tony Blair was elected!
Nothing like a political feelgood factor to win a few votes and increase focus on your country! ![]() Vive la Anggun! |
By:
No armpit hair on Lena GB
![]() I can't see TPTB being too keen on Greece getting anywhere near winning. That's for sure. |
By:
I like Hungary, it reminds me of my 80's synth band upbringing however thats probably not a recommendation for 2012 ESC. I'd be happy for it to qualify but when I divide up the places available it never makes it through

No. Some Greek totty bouncing about and singing out of tune.
By:
I see AKOE were impressed with Jedward.
All the money taken in the top 10 market. |

TBF on the political point, you're probably right. Their economy was up the swanny last year and they won their semi and managed 7th in the final.
The guy could sing tho and Greece might not even have an economy this time next week. |
By:
omg Austria seriously wtf. I think Milan will like this one though
![]() |
By:
TBF it's visually appealing.
But us pervs on here aren't the voters. |
By:
Was it Ukraine a few years back who had what appeared to be a stripper singing their song?
By:
Here it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JeSr_tuD7U I'm sure GB will be looking at the male torsos ;) ..and LOL @ the top comment. |
By:
That actually qualified from the semi

By:
Deservedly so in many ways. It's a cracking tune and well performed. Even tho not particularly suitable for a family audience.
Finished 12th from a late draw in the final. |

Moldova.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahf-zI1IjfE&feature=plcp I love Moldova every year and this year is no exception. As a 'party record' it's far superior to Romania |
By:
don't like it now as much as i thought i did - v old fashioned.
He looks a bit greasy and sweaty - like someone who might hang around outside school gates. |
By:
I can't see anything old fashioned about it or any problems with the singer.
It just looks a huge amount of fun, with the usual Moldovan craziness thrown in. |
By:
Clearly more marmite than Romania from the early likes & dislikes tho.
By:
Just the terrible twins to go.
This is n excellent semi final. I can't say I'm looking forward to much in semi 2. |
By:
The money earlier must have been a pre-emptive strike from AKOE.
I'm sure they already have their copy written and Jedward stole the show :) |
By:
Blimey I agree about AKOE when it comes to Cyprus. Which is a worry
By:
with, not about*
By:
they're great

Ireland
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU1-a7WREEk&feature=plcp Your view squares or AKOE? Not a patch on last year for me. |
By:
no, I think they've really improved and this has much more impact live. Very good staging and performance.
By:
Ireland are almost as bad as the grannies from hell...CANNOT PHUCK!NG SING !
By:
altho the way they're hopping about there might be another sprained ankle like at T4 on the Beach
By:
I agree the staging is good and they always pull out a performance when needed.
I just don't think the song is as good as last year or the staging as striking. Vocals still iffy. |

What we have learnt today that semi final 1 is a very strong heat. Greece do need to up their game and 5/6 of the qualifiers will be strong players in the final.
It does seem pretty certain imo that Russia will win the televote, I think this detracts from its opposing up tempo competitors and the jury market is competetive already so the contest is still very open. Have laid Sweden top 4 and will put it negative on betfair. If its great on Thurs it shortens slightly very good it stays the same so good or worse and it drifts for me. |
By:
It will certainly be the more enjoyable semi to watch for me and it's looks a competitve heat.
I'd be surprised if the winner came from it tho. |
