Well I'm happy to lay it for top 10 @ odds on.
I've never thought much of the song and on the performance I saw today it won't be getting many points from the juries. |
|
By:
I can certainly see the logic, and am not a top 10 backer at the odds. I can see myself being happy to back if it drifts much more though.

Sweden price seems to be tightening as the rehearsals take shape. Any obvious opposition from today? Iceland look like a runner so have greened up on them.
|
|
By:
Iceland had a good rehearsal, but still not a top 10 contender for me. The song is too worthy and over dramatic.
|
|
By:
Not sure how many better in semi 1 though I don't think it will win.

Todays rehersals are off and running Israel on stage now.

ESC bet review of Iceland from yesterday:
After their selection, there were a few changes and features I hoped they would include to maximise their impact on the Eurovision audience. Firstly, I wanted Greta & Jonsi to perform their song in English. Done! Secondly, I felt the stage design should capture the essence of Iceland with dramatic lighting and visuals in cool blue/white. Done! Lastly, their bearded fella had to go or get a shave. Done! My fee will be in the post soon! Having undergone a slight metamorphosis, Iceland have emerged as a serious contender for a placed finish and nailed on top-10 challenger. Unbelievably, Boylesport are still offering evens for a top-10 finish! |

Ireland the one I really want to see today. If any hype is going to be generated and get that price down it probably needs to start today. They apparently have sopent a lot on the staging/effects but whether we see the full extent of it today idk.

awful
found Israel very enjoyable tho , it's that early 80's vibe, reminds me a little of The Maisonettes |
|
By:
early day's but this is the best rehearsal by a universal mile so far...CYPRUS !...this is a "eurovision" song no doubt about it...happy, foot tapping, @rse shaking, catchy singalong song.

By:
shame you bigged it up so much tbh, made it a little disappointing for me.
Good staging and performance, very poor vocals in her lower register tho. |
|
By:
i think you are being a trifle picky there squares, it was a 1st rehearsal after all ffs.
Denmark up next...now this is one of many entries i don't rate at all...we'll see. |

after Milan's glowing review I checked the words for Cyprus's great song. I might have missed one or two but its... Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalallalalalalalalalalallalalalalalalalalalal Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalallalalalalallalalall Love
Jury position? 3rd last at best ![]() |

Please no-one else waste their money on Cyprus unless you are a layer ofc

By:
you've lost the plot bex lad...as i've said this is a "eurovision" song...it's instant and has a hook...the total opposite is Iceland, which is a meandering bore of a song imo.
|

By:
Stop rating the songs with your c*ck Milan you will do better. No wonder they call songs like this fanwank

Cyprus was well performed compared to Greece. Apparently they have a 'hidden' backing vocalist I have read which is sensible. her singing was more than good enough - its never been my main problem with the song. it amy well qualify but it 1.5 or less. I'm expecting good reviews for it.
I expect people to like it hell I liked some fast solo female songs last year - they pretty much universally flopped. 40's or so OR is a joke for me sorry |
|
By:
No idea why Denmark is close to favouritism to win this semi. Preferred last years song and it was staged better last year imo . This is just too MOR
|
|
By:
personally i like it, but it doesn't scream "eurovision" to me.
LOL at the animated drummer bouncing around ![]() |
|
By:
I quite like it squares, on first listen I was actually keen on it.
It not that great a draw and doesn't have great voting allies and I'm a little fed up with it - as I stated too MOR. I can't understand the price tbh. I'll be backing Romania win and top 3 |
|
By:
Just catching up.
Cyprus a pleasant surprise. It knocks the socks of the Greek rehearsal. Both in terms of staging and vocal...and ofc it's a better song ![]() |
|
By:
Also a better draw than Greece.
|
|
By:
Could it also pick up some of the Greek diaspora vote? Given she's Greek cypriot and took part in greek XF.
Beating the Greek totty in the process. |
|
By:
Love Israel. A very slick performance as you'd expect from an established band.
If only the lead singer was more telegenic. |
|
By:
Not with you on Denmark Milan.
One of the best songs in the competition. Vocal very solid. Just a shame she's kept the silly outfit. |

Israel is a great tune. Glad to read the performance was up to scratch. Feel I should be backing it on the basis I like the song but can't see a market that could end up seeing it win me money.
Anyone offering Israel v Montenegro head to head bet!!?? ![]() |
|
By:
It should win that one honest. Not impossible that it could make top 10. The juries have tended to like Israel. Apart from last years abomination from Dana...and it could pick up a reasonable pv. |
|
By:
That's true - Harel Skaat also won all three jury-related 'side awards' in 2010, so there has been support.
Agree with the earlier point about the singer not being telegenic. |
|
By:
With you on Romania bex was scouting for best value, just about to take the 7/1 with 365 and it went grrrrrrrrr. Cant get on with stanley

What was that for JOT? Top 4?
It was a very good reherasal, tho I'm with Dan in that the choreography is a little robotic. I guess they might have just been marking it and they'll loosen up in the final version. |
|
By:
..oh, I guess to win the semi.

how the hell did this not qualify...one of the biggest shocks in eurovision history for me...
