Switzerland as vocally strong as they were earlier

07. Switzerland The problem with SinPlus is that the lead vocalists just isn’t making eye contact with the camera from the off. There’s not much else wrong with the way they perform as a band, or move about the stage, but not making a connection with jury members or televoters down the lens has historically made life hard for songs. |

This pop rock song has a good vibe to it. Sinplus are using the stage well and the catwalks. Vocally great , this has a really good edge to it. More fire being used here. This gets a great reaction from the crowd. |

Belgium's Iris has got to be pleased with that performance for the juries |

So far the only question mark seems to be over Greece. The rest as good or better than this afteroon

08. Belgium Iris looks very cute in her short white dress. She is slightly off-key at the start of the song, but very quickly improves, and is good all until the end. The background still looks rather weird to me, and I don’t think that pink bubbles and trees actually help the song and Iris’ performance. Still, she might score a couple of points from the juries. Luke: 08. Belgium Coming after several fast songs in a row, Belgium has at least got itself a got position in the running order to offer something to those who like things a little slower. If Iris was perhaps 5 years older she might be carry this off a little better, but there just seems to be something missing from the whole thing. Vocally pretty decent, but probably not enough about the whole thing to see it through. |

Iris is in a cream dress with frills on it. Blue then purple backdrop. Vocally nothing wrong with this at all, I just find the song a bit dull and pedestrian. I dont think it will make it through. FINLAND Pernilla and a cello player on screen. She wears a green dress. This I feel is a classy ballad but comes across as going nowhere and has no impact on the screen. The vocals are a bit off and slightly pitchy. This is really struggling to make an impact and I fear is destined to fail to make it through. |

thats exactlw what I felt about finland this afternnon - it just doesn't go anywhere

I don't think its going to qualify

09. Finland The difference between the two ballads in this part of the semi is that Pernilla actually looks like she believes that she can carry the song off. They both face an uphill struggle, but she is smiling throughout and it’s a nice understated performance. 21.43 Ervin: 09. Finland Shocking – Pernilla wears a green dress again! A wind machine is added to the performance at the start of the first chorus. Pernilla stands still during her performance, and a cello player is joining her on stage. It all looks way too static, and Pernilla also manages to skip looking at the camera, even when it is right in front of her. Her vocals are good, but the entire performance is rather forgettable. |

Iceland to qualify price drift - well a bit 1.07 to 1.1

Was he expecting a little jig. Some of these comments are laughable |

Belgium still favoured in the battle of the ballads odds wise

Just no money backing it up Bex.
Someone took the 1.08 and all that behind it was some cash @ 11. |

10. Israel An unnecessary fire right at the start of the song. The entire performance is in a retro style. The two backing singers on the catwalk look rather hilarious than anything else. The vocals are very good through the entire song, the background looks nice, and there are a couple of weird camera shots. Still, this is something completely different than everything else in the semi final. I think this might score well with the juries. Luke: 10. Israel Some needless flames at the start of the performance aside, this is a tight stage show that looks very polished. They’ve got a good backdrop, and it’s filmed pretty well bar the odd shot. For Israel, it really is going to come down to enough people liking the song to vote it through, as performance-wise there’s nothing wrong with it at all. |

Izabo from Israel take this stage with this rather catchy quirky number. Lots of clocks on the backdrop. Red and then multicolours. The backing singer start on the cat walk. Some fire used in this performance but I dont think this grabs the audience or the voters. Borderline to qualify. |

I've not had a single bet yet in the semi's. Israel could be 1st one

This looks really classy on screen , Ivi looks like a goddess. Some of the vocals are not as good as earlier today but still overall a good performance, totally deserves to go through. |

12. Cyprus They’ve got the dance routine cracked here, and the background and prop work well on the stage. However whilst Ivi is holding the verses fine, the first chorus is very ropey. She’s better second time around, but not third where the vocal goes a bit wobbly again. Ervin: 12. Cyprus Ivi looks very hot in her short dress, and has a nice dance routin with the backing singers/dancers. However, she is often out of tune, and her voice doesn’t really fit the vocals of the backing singers. Some camera shots are too static for this dancy performance. The good thing about it is that it is a very modern song, and this is the only reason why I see the juries would go for it. A big applause for Ivi in the end. |
|
By:
Looks like it's not her best performance
hopefully she's saving that for the final ;) |
|
By:
So a bit of a disagreement. I appreciate it doesn't have to be perfect vocals in this type of song but she does hit some really bad notes at times its hard not to mark it down
|

Just supposing 5th to 10th televote and 12th - 15th jury its marginal in the extreme to qualify.

You probably have it #1 televote though
