rory mcilroy if he wins the open, same price for both 25/1
cavendish will probably trade shorter if he wins a few stages of the tour |

'Andy Murray if he makes the final of Wimbledon, though I'd still go for
Button even if both him and Murray won their respective events. Curiously Murray has been matched recently at the same odds he was when he was still in with a small chance to win the French Open.' A little consideration of where Murray is from might help. If he won Wimbledon 1.2 would be a bargain I suspect. |

[/Andy Murray if he makes the final of Wimbledon, though I'd still go for
Button even if both him and Murray won their respective eventsi][i] That is the most laughable statement I have ever heard on this forum! Average driver in by far the best car following 3 British winners of the drivers title in last 20 years v First British Mens Wimbledon champion in nearly 70 years and one of the Golden 5 BBC sporting events. If ever there was a case for 1.001 then that would be it. |

They are all in synch you know Fascinating stuff. Do you reckon that is true? One of the worst aspects of my commercial working life was having to deal with an accounting department. The FC was fine but he inherited a bundle of hormonal bought ledger clerks, credit controllers, payroll people and other people that I could never completely fathom exactly what they did except make tea and buy biscuits. Pay negotiation time used to come around and they did not seem to comprehend the meaning of market rate. They used to just knock on about years of service. Even the sales ledger clerk used to tell me that she paid her bills on time. Anyway I despaired. But I did arrive at a theory and that was that is was to mark down on my diary the 5 days to never go close to the accounting department. |

However on a market related note.
It is a 124% book and nobody ought to be odds on at this stage of the game. Let's see if you agree. |
|
By:
Cripes, 1.4 it went to!!!
I need to pay more attention and I suspect you filled your boots. |

Eye off ball here Lexie. Sadly. What a nonsense

When's the next race? :-)
Ironically if he wins every race between now and the end of the season his chances of Spoty decrease with every one. He needs competition. |
|
By:
It went back to 1.5 ish this morning. Oh dear. I have not been matched yet but I do need to think about leaving money up at silly odds.
Be Proactive and not Reactive, that is the ticket. |

F1 dot com will tell you when the next race is. But you can analyse this stuff a bit too much.
Murray plays at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks and unless he is**beforehand the maffs say that Jenson is too short. |
|
By:
It is ok Mr Brush. I am convinced nobody reads this stuff.
How are you getting on with your IM btw? |
|
By:
I thought I'd mastered it but haven't had any messages yet
:-) Perhaps there's a crossed wire somewhere |

Jessica Ennis set a personal best in the Heptathlon on her comeback. She's now third all time in the UK. The World Championships this Summer are likely to be barren in terms of British medals. A Gold, which she is capable of, if she holds her form and stays fit will see her in the final shortlist for sure.

Probably right about Murray over Button, even though Murray's a bit of a tw*t.
Ah well - at least it got a thread going. |
|
By:
It is all about the odds.
Button at odds on before Wimbledon is too short and Murray at above 5.0 is too big. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. |
|
By:
Seems a good time to be on Murray.
Unless he gets injured or has a disasterous early exit at Wimbledon will get a good run for your money in the next few weeks. Fitness concerns over Nadal can only help his chances. Plus he has another bite at winning a Major with the US Open later in the year. |
|
By:
The bbc will televise this shorty and unless he goes out very early or is**beforehand he is bound to trade shorter.
|
|
By:
I should keep my mouth shut. The price has moved and I don't want what is available now.
Move on. |
|
By:
I was matched at 5.2 last night Alex - you might get that soon. I'd agree with you that anything over 5.0 is decent right now and am acting accordingly.

I like Asparagus. I have a feeling in my waters that we will gel. :)

Beware the British GP though Alex - may see some more Button shortening on the day before Wimbledon starts. |
|
By:
Oh yes.
You could be right. Time to top up a lay. Thanks. |

Can someone explain what enthusiasm the gbp is meant to have for a "winner" like Button please?

Can someone explain what enthusiasm the gbp is meant to have for a "winner" like Button please? I think the great british public think that has a good attitude and is well adjusted. If that helps. |

not your best Alex :|

I suppose with Button the fact that he has been a loser for so long prior to this year is in his favour, whereas Hamilton just walked straight into the strongest team.I backed Lewis @16/1 in 2007 and was stunned that he didn't win in what was a poor year, as Hill and Mansell had both won SPOTY as Formula 1 Runners Up against strong competition from other sports, in 1986 at least.
Then when he won the championship last year and still got beat in SPOTY i concluded that he is not much liked by the public. I do think Murray may have the same problem. Can't see how he is 4.7, does he really have that good a chance of winning either Wimbeldon or the US? Surely he would need to do that as he was runner up in the US last year and nowhere in SPOTY. |
|
By:
andys best bet is to win the US Open..so the haters have less time to campaign against him sadly..
my point about Button is a simple one.he gets a better car and we're supposed to think he's a genius. andy murray plays with a racquet ..thats all. but i know thats a different argument :) just think a lot of people will be less than knocked over by Button's achievement. i am a life long Formula 1 hater though :| |

I want odds on Ryan Sidebottom.
What a great character! |
