Whether he gets it or not, Butch is a whopper to have put everything on the line for this BM given where that red is on the side cush.

please anyone tell me, re the world champs, is robbo definetly in the top16 now, and whats the chances of bingham if he wins tomorrow , and carter , will he have to qualify ?
|
|
By:
Some great practise for the bucket specialists..

My understanding:
Robbo is now guaranteed of top 16 (14th if he loses tomorrow, 11th if he wins) and qualifies for Players Champs and Tour Champs (I think guaranteed) and can therefore go up the rankings further. If Butch wins, he'd go up to 13th in the rankings. If he doesn't win, he'd stay 20th, but does qualify for the Players Champs and can therefore still improve. Victory would pretty much guarantee his Tour Champs place, too, I think. Ali is currently 15th in the rankings but doesn't qualify for the Players Championship (and I don't think can therefore qualify for the Tour Championship either). That means his position cannot be improved and could get worse. Wu, Waco and Lei are all at the Players Champs but are outside the Top 16. Based on last year's prize money, it's likely that Wu & Waco would have to win it to get inside the Top 16 but could potentially improve further if they went deep enough to guarantee a Tour Champs place. If Lei were to win the Players Champs, he'd still be outside the Top 16 but would qualify for the Tour Champs, where he could earn some more money. That's how it reads to me, anyway. |

REALLY APPRECIATED THX

Sorry, just looking at this again, I'd forgotten to consider what Xiao can do. Robbo's not yet guaranteed, but it would take quite a lot for him not to be there (him to lose tomorrow, Xiao to earn more from PC & TC than he and either Wu, Waco or Lei to win PC/TC and go deep at the other while Robbo exists early at both).

Butch a total no show so far, 1.56 SP into 1.1 at 3-0 Robbo barring snookers.

The ironic thing is, it probably could, arguably should have been 4-4, the way it went after the MSI.

I'm well and truly in 0450 alarm mode now. Don't think I could have gone back to sleep if I'd tried. Was out on the bike at 9, which was nice. |
