Replies: 4611011 Apr 23 13:57 As I'm well-documented as saying, I prefer the BO7s myself. Much more fun betting mediums and not too much sitting around if there's a session full of 1.01 trains. Fingers crossed for next week. I have no doubt it will be much improved, even if that's only relative for the tournament compared to years gone by! There were a few interesting glimmers for the future in Wk1, TBF. Boiko looked much improved and wasn't quite so reckless as V1.0. Still a long way to go, but he can definitely pot a ball. But, yes, not much scope for any guard changing going on.... I hear you mate. There are a few promising kids there but i think the days of expecting them to burst through like a ronnie or even a Ding are gone. For various reasons i guess. If forced to pick, the one i like is mertens. Not spectacular but did ok his rookie season and did really impress me as a junior. But like Zhao Xintong, you've got to give em a few years and a few failures, boiko will definitely be better next time around. |

Indeed. I quite like Mertens, too - remember being impressed in the Qs for this a few years back. Same with Leclercq and Nuessle. The latter would definitely grow on tour, I reckon, and Leclercq has had his moments this season. Have you heard any rumours of what they might do to get us back up to a 128-man tour if the currently suspended players do end up getting banned? Will they just keep people in who would have otherwise dropped out and gone to Q school, or will they have just offer more places from Q school? |

Not heard anything official on that front lats, i do know as things stand they'd be looking at an over subscribed tour, at least 130 so probably not so much of an inconvenience if they lose a few. If you recall the year after the pandemic, they were down to low 120s if i recall and just proceeded on top ups so maybe they'd just do the same again. But like i said, thats just pure assumption. Might not even know themselves yet!

No worries mate, as it stands it's really just 4 players who are affected and Lu and Kingy are 63 and 64 so both could yet be knocked off. Could even yet end up with a perfect 128!
Good comeback by Woo Yizza, could well have some fresh blood after all. Also didn't realise Jak J has never reached the crucible. |

Didn't see how it happened, but Baz steals on the black, 6-6.
9-5 LTT |

Jak missed sitter blue into middle bag for frame, pure sh@t himself, not for last time probably

Theppy's turn for some fortune

WTF was that?!?

9-8 Licky, Dotty needs snookers to avoid 10-6 Selt

You might well hang your head, Theppy! Jesus!

Impressed by Wu there, against a guy who had a formidable qualifying record. Not even a hint of a choke at the end, fair galloped over the line in the end.
|
|
By:
7-7 Baz.
I've had a few big positions on Wu this season and he's let me down! Remember he played Selby and I laid Selby at something like average 1.02 for £5K, and he had chance after chance and just refused to take them.... ![]() |

He does score really well, though, in general - particularly early in the season.
|
|
By:
Won't lie, i've definitely had a few doubts about him but composure all through there was good. Next week another big step up though

Theppy lives! Big chance for Licky to win it but broke down far earlier than I thought he might, 9-9! W!

Theppy seething
That H2H is still in his mind for sure, head went IMO. |

More about it being Crucible/no Crucible, IMHO, but either way, not a shock he missed that pot to the middle.

Someone's gone V early at 1.15 on JakJ there
