we couldnt get ant tickets through world snooker, but trivago had them at treble the price

Looks as if Brecel is already on the crumble. Succession of poor shots in that last frame where he didn't appear to give them enough thought. Badly needs the next frame.

The Knowledgeable Crucible Crowd coughing and sneezing their guts up since the interval.
By:
I believe on your 3rd cough you should be ejected, perhaps even beaten to a pulp.
As for a phone going off, one ring and you are battered is the clear solution. |
By:
Selby must be cursing that Si didn't make the final.

By:
147 alert !!

A world final first, well done Mark Selby!

What a man
Turns into Rocket Ronnie when he wants as well, 7-9 will feel like a loss after today for Bracel Selby is reeling him in |
By:
This is great stuff. Luca is playing a blinder to keep Selby at bay so far.
By:
selby should go close to 6/4 if he loses this frame. will be set up nicely provided brecel wins this frame
By:
interesting next season with ronnie numer 1 and selby world champ
By:
that's all she wrote lads. goodnight
By:
Huge frame this.
By:
Selby different player this evening. Luca's head went a bit tonight hopefully he can recover for tomorrow but Selby is looking strong now.
By:
Selby reeled in Ronnie for his first world title and Ronnie is the best front runner theres ever been
Man is true grit gotta give him that |
By:
Selby now 1.59, can't argue with that really.
By:
Pretty much about as you were only now Bracel will have it in his head about having a 9-5 lead and Selby getting a good night's kip ready for granite mode
By:
Bracel needs to be 9 behind before he hits his groove.

Tbf, you can't begrudge Selby if he wins it now after that 147.
Still needs to speed up tho. |

Can't understand how anyone who loves snooker doesn't love Selby. So many shallow detractors on here of all places. I spend hundreds of hours of my life watching men hit balls around a table. The only way that can be justified (and I'm not sure it can) is if it means everything to the players. I wouldn't watch an exhibition if you paid me. I love that it means everything to Selby. His determination to win this event gives meaning to snooker and the event. Brecel v Si was just an exhibition of potting balls and making breaks on tables designed to facilitate attacking play, and was ultimately a one-dimensional, almost banal spectacle. The other semi was man against man. That's what sport has to come down to in the end if you are a true devotee. Man against man. Snooker is not like this all season, hence Selby's relative lack of success elsewhere. You have short matches and big atmospheres all over the place. This has to be the ultimate test. We keep hearing about the 'Crucible' and that every young snooker player dreams of playing and winning here. Selby has made it happen for himself 4 times and today will hopefully be a fifth. If the others can't match him in all round play, that's their problem. There are ways they can improve their game if it means that much to them. The message perpetuated by Hendry et al appears to be that if you haven't got the pure 'talent' to win via 'talent', you aren't entitled to find another way. That's a pretty narrow view of life.

He is the best all round player ever. And a brilliant watch. A proper exponent of the art of snooker and ALL its angles. 21 ranking finals and won 20. Wow. We all know the big 3. It's the big 4 now. Would easily put him 2nd to ronnie now. And maybe even the best. His game at the crucible is a magnificent watch. Going for 5 worlds in 9 years.

By:
Selby was brilliant last night. His form is going to have to dip for Luca to have a chance. Don't see it happening myself.
By:
2nd to ronnie
Was there once a fella called Hendry? |
By:
I think Luca has shown shocking gamesmanship trying to speed Selby up. All those aggressive long pots, hes practically yawning in Selbys face and tapping his watch. People said Hossein was disrespectful to Ronnie for his heavy break but look at Luca smashing the fk out of the pack every chance he gets, reds everywhere.

By:
I'd put the Nugget and Hendry above Selby
By:
Ip to a couple of years ago it was ronnie hendry Davis in that order. Selby is now right in that mix. Definitely above Davis now. And Bordering, if not Already, past hendry. Let's look. Davis won 6 in the 80s. Then he went downhill. Couldn't win 1 in the1990s. And the 80s standard was not great. Hendry wins 7 in 10 years. Then he hits 30 31 and decline set in. Couldnt win 1 outside the 90s.Hard to believe given the longevity of today's players. And in 4 of his 7 titles he had jimmy the folder opposing him. Ronnie's longevity is unquestionable. But he don't half get a run of the balls. 2nd only to ball run. Selby is 2nd now imo especially if he wins today. Then he will be after ronnie.
