Its a packed house for this! They must get a refund? Or do you pay for both sessions? Never been so...

£45 for today's afternoon session for a bog-standard ticket, £100 for a premium one

Foulds talks about the pocket sizes here.

His last para is pretty close to the money but still stops short, for me.  It's like the flattest of batting tracks where you can charge the bowler every ball and whack him over the top for 6.  OK, you might mistime the odd one and only get a 4, but the bottom line is there is absolutely nothing in the pitch to scare you.

I must admit, because of the way I watch matches, I'd not really picked up on one table being worse than the other.  Is that the general consensus?  I've seen all kinds of hideous on both tables during the same session.

Seen that said a couple of times, it's just the corner pockets on that particular table (No.2 i think) but that just gives them license to say it's just a one off, a glitch and "normal" service will be resumed as if that hasn't in fact been the norm for several years. I'd much rather listen to willo on it than Foulds tbh.

Interested in his 80s comments though. Have heard it said that pockets were tightened in the 90s after a couple of years of Hendry dominance but if true, all that tells me is they can change and manipulate them all they like and the "template" stuff is just a load of tosh.
