Have to agree with A_T here - when they mixed between the two pictures, the white was clearly not in the right place.

Ronnie even gave the ref a heads-up before the shot - almost like he knew there was an imbecile in the video box. He could clearly see the edge of the white but the ref kept putting it where he couldn't hit the red at all.

ref did his best that session IMO - was put away earlier by the clown in the video referee box and if the Rocket swore then he had to be warned about it

I reckon marteel thinks ronnie flicked him the bird or some other gesture as he walked back to his seat, hence ronnie pointing the finger and saying, "you saw nothing...go look at the camera." Marteel emerged from that looking a bit weak tbh, but better for all it happened in last frame of the session, likely end up mere storm in teacup stuff. Though we've seen ronnie implode for less before!!

O'Sullivan absolutely detests Marteel and Eckardt, and while I'm not defending him during the 2 incidents this afternoon, the referrees are much too visible for my liking. They seem absolutely desperate to see the exact position of the cueball, from every possible viewpoint whenever the player moves. They have the screen for re-placing purposes, so I'm not sure what their obsession is with looking down the line at table level every time there is doubt whether the player can see an edge. Anyway, a good response from Trump there late on keeps him close enough to take advantage of any O'Sullivan implosion.

just reviewed the miss incident and Ronnie was totally in the right - strange thing is he seemed to foresee there would be problems as he was at pains to make the referee aware that he could see the edge of the red.

Having played the miss the referee then insisted that the ball hed been put back correctly when it clearly wasn't - the referee surely knew this as Ronnie was no longer able to see the red. Ronnie was quite right not to play until the white was replaced correctly.

The idiot in the video referee box didn't help by seeming to be quite unable to give appropriate instructions to the referee on where to place the ball - "you had one job to do!" comes to mind.
