A lot of that is just swallowing the liberalist narrative. none of the party leaders just sit in parliament for debates, they are only there if they have to be. it's a complete waste of time, and this parliament in particular, 2tk and the speaker have made PMQs an embarrassment.
They made his Farage's family vulnerable, and then denied it. Every right to be angry (and some). Not sure what you mean by allowing democracy in his own party. Obviously nobody is going to challenge Farage for leadership. And they have to mitigate for the very real risk of people obtaining a vote just to sabotage the party. |

I am looking at it from an election point of view , farage will win and there will be a near endless stream of joke candidates on the stage being cheered for picking up 7 votes .
i have no political bias , i think they are all basically the same talentless people that just want the best for themselves not the country . |

I have very little hope of reform being able to achieve anything if there was a fair GE, and they won power. Just look at all of the stakeholders that would be working against them. All of them. quangos, councils, mayors, civil service, Lords, legacy media, judiciary, supreme court, lawfare, the EU, unions, nhs, doctors, the city, BoE. US if it's democrats again. It would be carnage.
But we can't go on as we are now, so something has to break it up. |

Oh, of course, schools and universities. They might be supported by frontline police, not the chiefs that have gone through the grinder.

I've got a friend who describes himself as a failed politician. (He succesfully lets a handful of properties he owns so he's basically very succesful but his interest has always been politics).
He's been in all parties, inclucing Reform, and currently wasting his time in Restore. He said that in Reform good candidates very rarely get picked to stand. It all has to go through Farage who picks degenerates. Restore the same - I believe the utterly chanceless Restore was just created to weaken Reform. He finally twigged that degenerates are picked on purpose. That's quite a change of mind for someone who's a gullible non player character who normally can't see something in front of his nose. |

Always the victim
Get the excuses in early Get farrage investigated and recalled, if he wins this farce. Then have a proper by election. |

Infamously labour have 400+ MPs, and had to crow bar in someone who wasn't even a MP to be their leader.
Obviously I have no idea what your friend's experience is, but selecting a candidate isn't just choosing for Reform, but choosing people who will be able to stand up to the scrutiny only Reform candidates receive, without snapping. Lowe himself was a prime example, highly competent, qualified, but consistently overstepped the mark and used language that could be weaponised. It's what a lot of Reform supporters don't understand, to get into power requires pragmatism. They need to appeal to the people who are sceptical. They need some hard liners in the party but also moderates. Not in policy as that should be consistent, but in conduct and communication. |

Cider, you seem very keen on a Limited Company running the UK instead of a grass roots based 'political' party.
Would you vote for pepsi/tesla/amazon? or A) Do you check at companies house to see how much of the company is owned by UK residents / who the foreign investors? B) Not bothered who owns the company that runs/owns the UK? C) Don't care about the UK, stop the boats, jail people without money etc. |

The foreigners own UK Plc. Those in the City of London who sold UK assets to foreign sovereign wealth funds eg GIC and Temasek of Singapore. Now, the Chinese have bought some of our old and established private schools, then mothball them after a few years of ownership, to deprive our youngsters.
The Labour Party has just re-nationalised British Steel - the Chinese owner deliberately ran it down. Then tried to damage the furnaces by not having the necessary and prerequisite maintenance and supply of key materials to keep the furnaces going. The proceeds from the privatisation of our assets and oil and gas from the North Sea have been spent on the NHS and providing welfare and housing benefits. Little have been spent on long term investment eg engineering, tech, ev motor, aviation and energy sector, etc, to improve the country's GDP, to negate PSBR or bring down the National Debt. The godsend proceeds from the North Sea have been wasted. |

Independent candidate Amelia Randall withdrew, saying that she did not want to split the independent vote following the entry of independent candidates Ollie Granger and Luke Worley.
Independent candidate Ollie Granger withdrew and stated that he would be supporting Luke Worley. Independent candidate Luke Worley withdrew after stating that most people he had spoken to in Clacton planned to vote for Count Binface. ![]() |

How's Bin Face doing? Has he been canvassing 24/7? Clacton resident could make a bomb if savvy. Mr Farage is history.........for £5m reasons.

This sort of thing can't be encouraged, imagine if it caught on and was repeated up and down the country and parli filled up with cartoon characters , clowns and jokers gaslighting the country.

Not sure it could go down the toilet that far, you'd end up with clowns and criminals running the country.
|

By:
Mr Farage will relinquish his position at Reform for far less than £5m. Thus when a £5m bloke came calling it was x'mas came early for Mr Farage. An unexpected pension pot for him. And, Mr Farage being a slippery character he's too "Parliamentary" savvy not to disclose this money until.....
Clacton could be Mr Farage's political undoing. But, a consolation of £5m at his age no fool will turn it down. |

@ 1.34pm Laugh the canvasser could only lie but was made a holy show of himself by the canvassed. All true and people are beginning to see the charade of Nigel Mirage, some saps would believe anything and the gullible is his(reform plc) 'business market' The people of Medway still have faith lapsy , three council by elections won lately by Reform, including in my ward last week where they beat the Tories who had won here for the past 30 years. |
|
By:
Hi Dixie, some murmuration of starlings this evening in this microcosm end of Medway.
Labour have minority control however looking at the voters perspective ,the b2000 can't handle the traffic, the school can't handle influx, the doctors is a prescription dispenser with the closure of Higham,no wonder they are looking elsewhere with the scale of new housebuilding, are reform going to solve this? Bad as it is i won't trust them and quite surprised you do. |
|
By:
I never said i trusted anyone lapsy, i can't recall a time when there was such a poor set of politicians to choose from.
This was emphasised in our local ward election last week, where the main parties (Tories particularly) spent more time demonising Reform in their campaign literature rather than telling us what they would seek do for the local area. Their negative approach backfired and the Reform guy got in. Both the Tories and Labour have had years to sort this country out and have largely failed to listen to the concerns of the electorate so it's only natural that people eventually start to look elsewhere. I've no idea if Reform would be the answer, but then in many peoples eyes what is there to lose ? We have had large developments here over the past decade or so, but little improvement in facilities. The A228 gets ridiculously busy but all they want to do is build even more houses . There is an application in for 1300 more houses on greenfield land not far from me, this is just outside of the Medway council area and comes under Tonbridge and Malling. If that goes ahead it will be utter chaos all around the area traffic wise. One can only hope if gets kicked out. |
|
By:
Quite the thing how all this fannying around with 'the north' is being so well received by the great and the good of the media establishment.
One can only imagine if Truss had done such a thing. Anybody normal doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at this David Brent impersonator. How long he can stay above the waterline with this act is the only question, imo. |
|
By:
We are on the same page Dixie with this, we both know that the infrastructure isn't there for the huge amount of housebuilding.I am not against it per se but roads, schools hospitals, surgeries, policing etc have to be also done in relation to that and it isn't even near.
It probably is a wake up call for Labour/Torys,don't deliver, good luck to you as council results show and cannot disagree with you. Hope that development does get kicked out for you but not many are. |
|
By:
Just read that there are two proposals for that site i mentioned lapsy, one is for 1300 homes but the other would be up to 2000
![]() It's utter madness as most locals agree, as are most of the planned "projects" out on the peninsula but councils never seem to listen to our concerns do they ? Kent will soon lose its title as the Garden Of England with all this development going on. The trouble is they are under huge pressure from the targets set by the government, Tonbridge and Malling for instance have been set a target of just under 20k new homes by 2042 When will it all end ? |

Things have calmed down now in these volatile markets. Many traditional bookies and exchanges (including American based) now involved. The recent polling for Reform is only going in one direction, the majority of it of it's own making. Luckily for them, in Clacton, they don't have Restore (who beat the tories in Manchester mayoral election) to compete against because they could have given them serious problems. No polls whatsoever of the constituency itself but still plenty of betting action in Count Binface percentage of the vote markets.

Clacton Man is treating parliament like it's an episode of "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me out of Here"
In an attempt to increase his social media footprint and revenue. He's contrived his own eviction from the main house into the cabin they keep for half evicted and not really evicted contestants. And embarked on a 6 week mini serries spin off with another contestant wearing a dustbin outfit. It's a plot stright out of ITV primetime Z list celebrity Reality TV. |
|
By:
There isn't any doubt whatsoever that both he and his party have been badly damaged by this event.
|
|
By:
Hmm, video just released by Reform of Farage asking supporters to come to Clacton and help him, both now and on the day itself. Maybe Count Binface could do ok?
|
|
By:
"I never ask you for anything but I am asking you now" seems a little desperate.

I'd say yes for $5m. The man is history, and Reform will slide into oblivion just like the SDP led by the "gang of 4" in the 80's. Mr Farage is finished!!!!!!!! |

In everyday language, "hot air" can also mean empty or exaggerated talk—speech that sounds impressive but lacks real substance or action. For example:
"His promises were just hot air." So, "hot air" can refer either to warm air in science or meaningless talk in conversation. |
