Might be a bit warmer for a day Lapsy, breeze more of a southerly so not as cooling but temps back to normal at the weekend.
Camp at the bar in The Six Bells if it's too hot for you ![]() Was worse in 76, 2/3 weeks constant 30 plus and we somehow survived. Played competitive cricket throughout, no problem, had my best ever season as a seam bowler ![]() I thought the heat was meant to make you feel worse the older you get but i honestly haven't been bothered by it. |
By:
It's been fakkin luvly down here on the south coast
Bloody english moaning about the weather 10/11 months of the year - it's a gift If this is man made heat then have at it - shove some more coal on |
By:
listen up - nothing we can do about it
nothing just soak it up might bring out the sandals and handkerchief for the bonnet tomorrow |
By:
I felt Tuesday Dixie,it was just 30 degrees but the thingy said it feels like 36 degrees, today was 'nice'.
I haven't been in the Bells for years,3 different prices for the same drinks one night made me swerve it, different management and a great pub at one stage as you would arrive home with a bunch of onions/carrots with the farmers going in there. |

Then they both Said what ever is Going on we cant stop it , we cant stop what's Causing it perhaps its about time we started learning to live with it and prepare accordingly ![]() Meanwhile we Have Mad ed Shouting about Wind mills and Heat pumps ![]() |
By:
And we have people starting idiotic threads like this to score some imaginary points.
I haven't heard anyone, anywhere, denying that the climate has changed. |

Amazing that today the Met Office can have a red warning for a part of southern england .....YET East Anglia is going to have it hotter than the all time June temp record and its only Amber ....No importance bias here of course .
By:
I always thought it was linked to population density and emergency and social services responding to the alert. So London's services need to get ready for a potential influx of call outs and admissions, but East Anglia has far fewer people so isn't a red alert. Could be wrong though.

I'm not convinced that increasing our own population by 20% in 30 years has helped towards our net zero target tbh.
The planet needs less damaging parasites (people), no one wants to discuss it. I can't understand why that is so. |
By:
Tks Porky , spot on .
By:
By:
Euthanasia then, or less children. The planet needs less of us and will outlive us if need be.
The survival of mankind shouldn't be down to individual bravery from a politician, should it? |
By:
Well the young people are certainly doing their bit and choosing to have less children. Time for the oldies to step up?
By:
Not all of them, and they're not necessarily choosing. Responsible ones can't afford em.
Still knocking em out in the third world, and then coming to Europe. No easy answers here. |
By:
Yeah, but the UK population of under-14s was 13 million in 1976 and has dropped by a million today. In the same time the number of over-65s has gone up by over five million.
If you're talking of over-population in this country then it's clearly in that age group. We need more young people to help look after and pay for the care of the ever-increasing numbers of pensioners grimly clinging on to their last breath unfortunately. |
By:
Most of the pensioners i know are far from "hanging on grimly".
They are fit and active , a lot more so than the lard@rse youngsters wobbling around chomping on their big mac and large fries. |
By:
Totally Agree with Dixie very fit elderly population on the Whole, main issue Appears to be raise in Dementia
I wonder if porci can tell us what the problem is with these young peoples Brains ? How many is it that are sitting round claiming Benefits due to MH ? How are they going to pay to wards any costs ? |
By:
I see he Mentioned under 14s avoiding the Current crop of 18 - 24 Year olds
By:
The U14's still have a few years to go in their MH indoctrination nanny
Of course back in the day MH wasn't talked about enough, but these days it's non stop. No wonder our kids all think they must have some issues in that regard and of course the shysters now know how to use the card to their advantage. |
By:
If they able and Fit a bit of Litter picking or similar Should be on the Cards , fresh Air exercise and meeting others .Doing their bit bit for the Local Community
Nee Picking Nee funds |
By:
1.3 , Certain communities a lot higher than that escapee ,fully funded

That'll be the generation that paid in for 50 years, so the lazy buggers we have today can take out then.
By:
Maybe the elephant in the room is the millions that game the system for every penny they can legally and illegally claim.
By:
Yes, I mentioned the lazy buggers above. Removing the two child
benefit cap will just create more of them. |
By:
So benefit claimants "game the system" but wealthy businessmen using accountants to pay the least tax possible are just being efficient.
Right |
By:
One is fraud the other is sensible planning. I'll leave it to you to work out which is which.
By:
It's fraud in your head only though.
In the real non-bigoted world, it's just people getting what they're entitled. |
By:
Open your eyes - fraud is everywhere.
Why should one section of society be expected to play by the rules and pay in more when huge swathes of society have absolutely no intention of paying in anything at all but still extracting the maximum they can. |

Nasty comments from PoP about the older generation. Not unexpected from him though
![]() Many of our old people are too proud to ask for extra help unlike the workshy and the feckless who PoP defends, many of whom have never paid in to the system or done an honest days work in their life but expect to keep milking the system all the same. My parents were born during the war years, they NEVER had anything come easy for them. When i was at primary school in the 60s family allowance was 8 bob (40p) a week for me and my brother. No doubt PoP thinks that meant we could live like royalty. As for "jobs for life" , you do realise that many of us don't work in the cushy public sector ? Did you really grow up in Liverpool in the 70s and 80s ? Not many jobs for life around then were there ? |

In the real non-bigoted world, it's just people getting what they're entitled. .............................. Yes, entitled to live off the efforts of others. Talking of which, you employ people don't you? |
By:
So its Bigots who are against fraud ?

Punching down - allowed. No problem. Let's all bash those worse off.
Punching up at those who've had everything handed to them on a plate and still want more - terrible. Nasty. You guys should invest some of your millions in mirrors. |

Hottest ever June day, for the 3rd day running.
Yep, record is broken again today. Climate change deniers looking dumber than a pile of rocks. |
By:
They keep coming back to highlight how dumb.
By:
Well the above two posts are from dumb and dumber, how fitting

W/c Monday 6 July: forecasts of 30-32 in many parts of the country.

Hundreds of flights at London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports have been delayed as the UK's air traffic control service warned disruption is expected to continue into Sunday.
More than 900 inbound and outbound flights at the two travel hubs have been delayed for up to 11 hours and dozens have been cancelled, according to tracker FlightAware, many due to thunderstorms. NATS, the UK's air traffic control service, said adverse weather conditions meant aircraft needed to "avoid affected areas and be spaced further apart" and this would impact flights for the "remainder of Saturday and overnight". |
