Living in London has its perks ...

She will also avoid the higher income rates north of the border that she imposed on Scots, meaning anyone earning over about ÂŁ30k a year is forced to pay more into the public purse. She is earning a salary from her book deal and public appearances but would pay the cheaper English rates.

Another nail in the coffin for independence.

You can nick 400k and only do 2 1/2 years, or less, if you get caught.
Not much of a deterrent imo.

I don’t know what’s more fitting.

That he has been sentenced on Amazon Prime day or the day the Scottish Prison Service finally complied with the law and moved male inmates who like to dress as females out of female prisons.

Does he like a bit of dressing up?

No.

He was in a loving marriage with a very observant and honest woman who would have noticed any such behaviour had it been presented to her in her own home and any suggestions otherwise is tittle tattle.

There's a prog on now about him, wondering if 'we'll ever find out why' he did it Laugh
Are they simple, why does any thief prefer nicking to working?

Yeah it was bizarre that the judge said that as well.

I mean what kind of motive could a person have for getting 400k worth of stuff they don’t have to pay for especially when everyone around them thinks he’s squeaky clean or a “proven winner” when he has been doing it for 10 years already.

My husband that could spend party money with no questions asked spent 46k on Amazon and at the same time the party I led went into financial difficulty but I was completely unaware of anything untoward happening when I signed off the accounts.

SNP Doners want the same , Its not going away

Scotland's Watergate. It was the fact they went to such lengths to avoid scrutiny of funds that anyone with half a brain who spent five minutes looking at the accounts could tell was gone. Shocked

Police are making inquiries after a complaint was made about the finances of Yes Scotland, the group which campaigned for independence in the 2014 referendum.

The Sunday Mail, external has reported on claims that income of more than ÂŁ1.5m was unaccounted for.

The newspaper said the complaint was made by David Henry, who was one of those whose concerns about the SNP's finances led to the Operation Branchform investigation and the eventual conviction of former chief executive Peter Murrell.

Yes Scotland Ltd, a company which was set up by former SNP leader and First Minister Alex Salmond to campaign for independence ahead of the referendum, has not been active since 2014.

Its latest set of dormant accounts were published last year, showing a zero balance.

The SNP has said Yes Scotland Ltd was an "entirely separate organisation" from the party.

Henry told the Sunday Mail that the campaign company's accounts from 2016 onward showed a zero balance and ÂŁ1.5m which was recorded earlier appeared to have "just gone".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have received a complaint and inquiries are ongoing."
'Incredibly serious allegations'

It comes after former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell was jailed for more than five years after he admitted embezzling more than ÂŁ400,000 from the party over five years.

Police Scotland and the Crown Office investigated Murrell's actions in Operation Branchform.

The first minister of Scotland has asked for military aid from the UK government as more than 500 firefighters continue to tackle a fire that has raged in the Cairngorms national park for the past 10 days and forced the evacuation of homes in the remote region.

John Swinney has said the blaze remains a “major and serious” incident but that Saturday afternoon had brought an “improved picture”.

He said: “A request has been made today to the UK government for military assistance in aerial support that can be used to supplement existing resources that are being deployed to tackle the Cairngorms wildfire and we await a response.”

Isnt this the guy who keeps harping on about independence. ??

@ 'For the past 10 days' A long time though it appears to be nearing under control, this is France and Spain too. Surely a proper response is needed and investment in water carrying planes etc, a fraction of the cost of what is proposed for 'defence spending'.
Sad to see these tourist and areas of natural beauty destroyed and given the tinderbox conditions plenty more fires for the remainder of the Summer.
