Ann Wilson of Heart is one of the greatest female rock singers - Heart did a superb version of Stairway To Heaven at the Zeppelin tribute concert a few years back (see you tube).

I watched the concert DD and agree, her voice is up with the very best. One of my favourite tracks is "Who will you run to" which my girlfriend alluded to shortly before we split

Bob has recorded some great stuff over the years - i was surprised how many tracks on the album i knew. Mainstreet is a fine track.
Who died at 46 i wonder ? Whitney was a bit older than that i think so will have to ponder a bit longer. do you have a large record collection Aspro ? I was cataloguing mine recently and have about 600 split between Vinyl, CDs and cassettes. I had even more but some got mislaid during a move a few years back  . |

I had 100's of albums but as I previously noted (Free Bird) I used to move around a lot and moving them all became quite a chore, so I sold them all. Got many CD's but seldom play them now as everything I want is now burned onto my PC. I buy songs as I want them (don't nick 'em) and have a huge collection, which I play on shuffle, never knowing what is going to come up next.
I'm a big Pink Floyd fan, seen them 4 or 5 times now and have everything they've ever released and they still get played over and over. Prefer rock to most genres but as I've aged I've loosened up to a lot of the old stuff, which helps with quizzes like these. Every weekday, at 10.30am, I listen to Greatest Hits Radio 'Popmaster' where they have 2 contestants, each getting 10 questions each. I love testing myself on those. |

Yes its impossible to listen to even a fraction of large collections i suppose but i just love going through mine every now and then, many have a story attached.
I love the quizzes too, the modern stuff would stump me though which is why i have been reluctant to apply to the tv or radio ones, despite the urgings of my family and friends to do so ! Beat the intro type games would be tailor made for me as long as the songs were pre 2000 Listening to Radio Caroline for so long helps on that score and they play plenty of Floyd on there (they do play new releases too but not the Radio 1 type stuff).Think i have just got 109 - Linger by the Cranberries ? I was leafing through my catalogue for inspiration and have Everybody Else is Doing It on CD and the track is on there. The Whitney thing earlier must have been subliminal as didn't her and Dolores die in similar fashion ? |

If you don't know already, big in Japan has a meaning. It concerns songs that don't really make it in big markets but do very well in places like Japan or similar.

Yeah big in Japan was a throwaway line for bands with hits out of UK,
and Japan became a target market for many Alphaville were named after 1960s film of same name, shot in paris Forever young was a decent album. |

They play INXS regularly on Caroline donny
I saw them at Wembley stadium in 1991, a very good live band. All day gig with Jesus Jones, Roachford, Debbie Harry and Hothouse Flowers, a decent line up. Made the mistake of having half a dozen pints in a local pub at lunchtime and then found myself in the middle of the crowd when nature called , not the best place to be |
