By:
should have said ," typical some louts "

|
By:
How very understanding of you, I guess your attitude might be different if you had kids there while this guy drives at them because he doesn’t like some people banging on his roof.
|
|
By:
didnt say that, i said he was scared for his own safety, iand what exactly would you have done same scenario !
|
|
By:
He’s in a car ffs, stop and lock the doors, I wouldn’t consider driving into hundreds of people but I guess that is kinda weird.
|
|
By:
I think we're a week away from a justgiving page being set up for him and calls for the "victims" to be charged with criminal damage to his bonnet.

I can only imagine what the opinions would have been if this guy was an Asian taxi driver, he would have been faced with a baying mob when he turned up at court.

What's the point of having the snipers up there on the roof?

Typical british army scumbag with sense of entitlement hope he gets maximum sentence and the scum brits who "educated him" on this behaviour are taken to court, there are plenty more in the scum british army, should be disbanded, a few lads on here will get trumpo and putin to deal and there will be notabother so you won't need brit loonys in khaki.

He was a Marine, go and look up whether Marines are army or Navy ffs.

All charges may be added, removed as CPS see fit
Could have picked up prescription drugs such as codeine which would mean charge wouldn't stand, and or lab may be doing more detailed analysis. |

A former criminology lecturer who calls herself the “UK’s poshest thief” has been fined for stealing more than £1,000-worth of Le Creuset cookware, steaks, wine and gin.
Pauline Al Said and her husband, Mark Wheatcroft, have been fined £2,500 between them after the thefts from a garden centre and a branch of Marks & Spencer. |
|
By:
Ok he was in marines i'm sure these scumbags were renowned trouble makers in Arbroath, point stands british armed forces should be disbanded, cant be trusted and UK join a stronger NATO alliance.
|
|
By:
I’ll have a nicker on him getting off.
|
|
By:
probably turn up at court with a poppy on and a marine hat on, he will get community order and a grant to go to college, a muslim taxi lad would get 50 years for similar offence

Malay - i have relatives and friends who are or have been in our armed forces and i take exception to your sweeping generalisations. I thought you were better than that.
WD - if the Sun really hate scousers as you say (they don't btw), then why would they defend this guy ? Also, you state that "he has of course pleaded not guilty to all charges" - how do you know that ? According to the BBC he was not asked to respond to the charges at the hearing. |

There's no excuse for driving indiscriminately into people.
Doesn't matter what the background is. OBVIOUSLY it makes a difference if it was a fit of panic/rage, and a planned attack. There is a small amount of mitigation. If it was planned you'd want to see him incarcerated for the remainder of his time on the planet. This doesn't appear to be the case here, but sever punishment is still in order, in my view. |

Claims drunken Royal Marines trashed their Angus base by firing military-grade flares through windows
By Janet Thomson March 28 2019, 7:33am Share RM Condor. RM Condor. Drunken Royal Marines have trashed their Angus base by firing military-grade flares through windows, it has been claimed. The Royal Navy is carrying out an investigation into the late night incident at 45 Commando’s barracks at RM Condor, on the outskirts of Arbroath. The highly-trained personnel are alleged to have set fire to their base, wrecking at least six rooms, with the blaze extinguished by fire crews. The fire on Thursday evening, believed to be the second this month, caused thousands of pounds worth of damage. A source told The Sun newspaper: “Top brass are furious. “Having a few drinks is one thing, but this escalated very quickly. It got way out of control. It’s all being looked into now.” >> Keep up to date with the latest news with The Courier newsletter Video footage taken at the scene showed a communal kitchen, lounge and other rooms blackened by smoke. Light fittings were melted by the heat, while an entire corridor was taped off for repairs. Insiders claimed marines fired pyrotechnics at windows from outside the barracks. The flares, dubbed Shamoolis, are used for illuminating night patrols. It is understood military police have launched a probe into the blaze. A Royal Navy spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident at RM Condor which is under investigation. “As the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment on or speculate on this matter at this time.” A spokesman for Tayside Fire and Rescue stated the service had not been called to deal with the incident. Angus councillor David Fairweather, Independent member for Arbroath West and Letham, said the fact the incident happened on the base, rather than elsewhere, was “a blessing”. He said: “I am sure the CO (Commanding Officer) will be absolutely furious and will condemn and punish those responsible. “The Marines have got a very dangerous job, they do need to let off steam at times, but sometimes their behaviour does go over the score. “This is part of service life, it’s not acceptable and I am quite sure the hierarchy will not condone it. “They need to let off steam at times, but it should be in good spirit and not put anybody in danger.” Thursday’s incident happened a few hours after a serving Sergeant with 45 Commando was fined £335 after he admitted assaulting two men at an Arbroath nightclub. Forfar Sheriff Court heard Sergeant Richard Anderson of 45 Commando punched the pair at De Vito’s in the early hours of Boxing Day 2018. Anderson, 37, based on Merseyside, is facing financial implications and a loss of promotion because of his actions. Always up to no good on and off the job. |

So you want this chap hung because other Marines fired flares when plssed?
![]() Your mind is forever poisoned, I pity you. |
|
By:
I never mentioned anything about hanging anybody, if a child had died in the incident perhaps their family would have wished for that, who knows ?
|
|
By:
There's a lot of luck that nobody was killed
But it's a good thing nobody died, and hopefully folk make full recovery from their injuries. And speedily so. |

Dixie,
Quite right. He did not plead as it has to go to Crown Court. The Sun are not defending a Scouse, they are putting their weight behind a Royal Marine who mowed done a load of Scousers. The Sun hates Scousers. Just saying. |
|
By:
WD - he hasn't been a marine for thirty years or more and the report in the paper today was certainly not what you could call putting their weight behind him. Indeed, the report was headlined "every victim should get the justice they deserve - prosecutors vow to 79 injured". Excluding the obvious falsehoods about Hillsborough 35 years ago, can you name anything that backs up your claim that The Sun hates scousers ?
|
|
By:
Seriously?
Can I name anything that backs up MY claim that The Sun hates Scousers? Erm YES. But later. |
|
By:
Nobody has any idea really why this head case done this, his defence KC will play the great brit soldier card, no idea what his role was in armed forces, he could have been a cook for all we know.
However his counsel are entitled and obliged to put a defense argument for their client to minimise sentence. Whatever happens he's fcucked up his life and many others by nutcase actions on the day, and I don't think that is up for debate. |

Don’t disagree with you Malay,
Just pointing out how he has not been crucified by the press and if anything it appears to be going the other way. |

Unless you were born yesterday, you'll know that nobody is 'crucified' by the press nowadays, as sub judice has reached into arrest, never mind charge. I's not factually correct, reporting in meant to be free until charge, but in practice that's the way it works now.
The press can't 'crucify' anyone until the trial, where they can report on what the prosecution say, and the evidence presented. They can 'crucify' them once there has been a judgement. So, have another go. |

The overriding impression is that this seems like a moment of madness, rather than a predetermined attack. Whatever his identity or background. But who knows what will surface in a trial.
However, there is no equivalence to, say, going into a dance class and stabbing little girls over 100 times, murdering three of them. Or taking a bomb into a pop concert and detonating it. So the lever of anger within the public, understandably, is not at the same heightened level right now. It's more one of disbelief, how on earth it could have happened, et al. |

A “31 year old man” has been arrested. |

By:
I have no idea if he is a white man, but, due to the terrible way
they present these things a lot of people will assume not. Others will be hoping he is. |
