08.46 GMT This is what my colleague Eleni Courea posted on social media last night about what she has heard about the results of the contest. NEW - I hear the turnout in the Tory leadership contest was above 70% and that the winner has a decent margin of victory... |

Winner to be declared @ 11:00am

Badenoch should comfortably win but the fortunes of the Conservative party 100% depend on the ability of the next shadow chancellor & next health secretary to shred Labour's economic & NHS plans.
Badenoch must choose well. |

Not too sure how PC it is to be so delighted to have a non-white party leader
By:
Kemi Badenoch received 53,806 votes
Robert Jenrick received 41,388 votes |
By:
these **** are nearly as obsessed about immutable characteristics as the chumps currently in power

Bad luck Cider.

Racist Tories eh.
Where's the clown who was forever banging on that the wicked Tories were racist & would never elect a black person to become leader? |
By:
didn't bet. as I have stated more than once. landed about where I expected, Jenrick would have been a value loser

*white ones

By:
Well done lovely Kemi xx.
So that's two consecutive non-white leaders of the Tory party, plus the various non-white ministers occupying high positions over the years... but I'm sure the Progressive Left will STILL find some way to classify the Conservative Party as "racist", "fascist" etc etc. |
By:
At least they made the right choice this time.
By:
She'll have free gear's nuts for lunch every Wednesday at least. Probably means even more foreign holidays where he can give away what's left of our funds and assets.
By:
It's a good result because if she's not badenoch they can replace her with someone worse.

Many of the racists are currently voting for Reform their natural home. Do you Dab Enoch or Jenrick were trying to woo the moderates or the racists with their ignorant rants? Looking forward to the sniping. When will the next leadership election be held? |
By:
At least Bad Enoch believes her stupidity. Jenrick just wants to get elected and is appealing to the basket of deplorables and garbage.

She has to avoid the knives aiming for her back first saddo.
When will the next Tory leadership election be? Reform posting candidates at local elections. It’s gonna get messy! |
By:
I don't have much interest unless it gets messy tbf, I actually thought Kemi was a man until
quite recently. I was certain that Labour would get two terms not long ago, yet here are the Tories attempting a comeback. A week is a long time etc has never been truer. |
By:
All Badenoch has to do is look sane until Labour's half-arsed economic policies collapse.
By:
Rubbish
Tories need to worry about the loons of Reform Do not for one second think the Tories are a shoe in at the next election or Bad Enoch will be their leader! |
By:
I think it's become personal. Despite his being quite useless, a lot of people liked Boris,
a lot of people rather hate Starmer after just a few weeks, it will take some turning round. |
By:
i don't know anybody who Liked useless boris, you must run about with some real weirdos. He was PM useless but liked, liked for what ? he doesnt really have great morals, did you like him because he was racist ? misogynist or used the word woke (if it is a word) regularly ?
By:
Starmer is the least popular PM to win a general election in living memory. Yes, it's quite an achievement to be below treason May.
By:
And yet the useless, incompetent, corrupt Tories were routed at the General Election.
Why was that? The two leadership hopefuls went for the racist vote. Don’t worry his terrible Starmer is. You got bigger problems |
By:
One of these days you might get over the Tories previously being in office. They aren't now, and won't be for at least another 4 years. Labour still acts like it's in opposition, so does its fangirls.
By:
Everyone should worry about how terrible Starmer is. He could be here for the next 5 years.
By:
Starmer has abdicated complete control of the economy to Rachel, I once worked at the Bank of England, Reeves.
Reeves' massive increase of Employee NI is going to throttle the economy for years. |
By:
I agree on NI Nibs but they will surely have to reduce if after a year?
By:
Elon Musk said America voted for less drama in '20.
Starmer is our Biden. After clown Boris Johnson, being reliable, even humourless, was a vote winner. |
By:
yep, no drama since July
By:
Five-foot-four Jenrick would have been a disaster. He sold his soul for votes he failed to get. Badenoch has promised him a place in the shadow cabinet. She will no doubt find a place that suits his abilities, until he again "resigns on principle."
By:
Completely illogical, the leader of the Tories has no tangible impact for at least four years. The current administration are an actual disaster, NOW.
By:
The result was good for democracy. We need a credible opposition.
Jenrick's pitch was "Farage tribute act." The future of the Conservative Party cannot be trying to move right of Reform. It can never win that march. |
By:
The ultimate **** storm, the next fw years are going to be hilarious labour friends of Israel versus white nationalist Bedenoch, she will be the most hated nut job since the last one but 10x worse..Going to watch the country burn is going to be hilatrious, same in the US the genocidal Israel fanatic Dems versus the gun totin Reps, the entertainment value is going to be fanatastic two economies destryoed and burnt to the ground..I'n really looking forward to it,the perfect conditions fir rioting and some direct action.
