Guilty of hypocrisy.

By:
Yeah
In what way? |
By:
All MPs and their spouses and children should declare all their income and taxes
Including for the 10 years before they become an MP and for the 10 years after they stop being an MP. What have they got to hide? |
By:
funny how most of the outraged people ITT, ranting at Rayners financial paper trail not being snow white, are
the very same people completely happy with Cameron's £120million panama stash, Boris's £350k wallpaper bribe, Zahawi's £5million tax scam and Donald's billion dollar mortgage fraud. Has Rayner broken any laws? Coz Boris, Zahawi & Donald all did, and cameron forced brexit on the country to keep his financial paper trail hidden completely. |
By:
They are not self proclaimed socialists, are they?
It's a special level of delusion to run on a political ticket of working class socialism for your whole career, whilst accumulating a property portfolio, avoiding tax along the way. |
By:
I suppose it helps if the sheep in your particular flock will literally defend anything.
By:
They really will, not a mention of the Kinnock and Blair fortunes in his rant,
or Lord Ali dressing our PM and his wife. |
By:
BANG AT IT

ANGELA Rayner is at the centre of a new hypocrisy storm after it emerged her boyfriend Sam Tarry works for a lobby group whose client got a £280,000 cash boost from the Labour Government.
Ange was only helping sam her Man Out imo |

By:
Gotcha !
No smoke without fire. She'll be gone by the weekend. |
By:
Wot a ROTTER
By:
Way
You lot could not even tell us what law she has broken! You’re just finger pointing flag wavers! You know nothing and you’ll always know nothing. Gone by the weekend? You know as much about politics as you do about business Johnny…FA! Johnny, you said she was guilty of hypocrisy because you could not tell us how she had broken any law! The real hypocrites are people like you. Bring Doris back? Oh that’s right… he is banned from the Palace of Westminster…..for corruption! |
By:
Socialist in name only. Another typical Labour socialist. There are so many in the Party. Where is Mr Skinner? He'd have put Sir Shameless (free attire), Ms Reeves (free attire) and Ms Rayner through the mincer by now. And, that Labour woman whose relative "misappropriated" mega bucks from her 3rd world impoverished Bangladeshis whilst Prime Minister.
By:
She got advice that said 'that's it,right amount' from solicitors and later found out not right amount.
The original solicitors shouldn't really be practicing if they couldn't get that right or there is more not being told. I think she could be gone too. |
By:
They are conservatives!
Cut winter fuel payments Will not lif5 2 child benefit cap. Certainly more conservative than the current Conservatives you lot of cap coffers should b3 proud of them They tax workers more than the rich. What have they done that is Socialist? Even Farage wants mass Nationalisation what have Labour Nationalised so far? |
By:
WD in full deflection overload mode.
The facts now show the Deputy PM avoided a 40K tax bill. |
By:
I thought you were in favour of rich people avoiding tax Johnny the Hypocite?
Are you against working class people avoiding taxes Johnny the Hypocrite? |
By:
They are paid 6 figure sums out of taxpayers money and should be held to a lot more account than people tweeting or wearing t shirts.Shameful stuff whoever is found to be taking advantage (any politician) should do time.
By:
Everybody has a right to legally minimise the tax they pay. In fact they are dumb not to.
Every person who has ever paid into a pension scheme has avoided tax. Filling in a form incorrectly to trouser 40k is not legal tax avoidance. She should resign. |
By:
Lest we forget
A tax expert has told a tribunal of a “shocking threat” made by a lawyer acting for former chancellor Nadhim Zahawi that there would be “serious consequences” if he published correspondence about retracting claims the politician had lied about failing to pay tax. Ashley Hurst, of Osborne Clarke law firm, faces a solicitors disciplinary tribunal over allegations that he sent an email and letter to Dan Neidle, founder of Tax Policy Associates, in July 2022 in which he “improperly attempted to restrict Mr Neidle’s right to publish that correspondence and/or discuss its contents”. The communications asked Mr Neidle to retract claims he had published that Mr Zahawi lied about failing to pay £3.7 million in tax, and also not to publish the correspondence. |
By:
She admitted paying the stamp duty due for only one property when she was the beneficial owner of another. That is tax evasion. Ignorance is no defence, as I'm sure you'll testify.
By:
You waffle on endlessly about corrupt politicians and the damage they cause - Angela gets caught with her hand in the cookie jar and you defend her rigorously.
Wear your hypocrite badge with pride WD - you're part of the problem. |
By:
I don’t disagree with you lapsy,
I don’t think she will go because it would be like the glorious twelfth for Starmer. She can’t even speak properly let alone understand stupid property laws designed by an idiot of a Tory Chancellor. It depends on the Parliamentary Commissioner deciding if she deliberately concealed information from the so called tax expert or was negligently evasive. I somehow cannot see that. None of the loons on here understand the law enough to clarify what she has done wrong. Even poor Johnny the self professed business expert did not have a scooby. His “ expert “ advice was she was guilty of hypocrisy before today and “ there’s no smoke without fire after today’s news. |
By:
But is she a northern Slag... Deathbed ? thats your usual opinion of northern girls .
By:
I am not defending her. I don’t care about her or any Labour politicians.
I am just pointing out your your hypocrisy and faux outrage. Perhaps could could explain why Doris Johnson is banned from the Palace of Westminster? |
By:
Yes that is true String. She cannot speak English properly and she is the Deputy Prime Minister for His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Lord help us all!
By:
I know WD and you are correct in innocent til proven guilty. Too many have been 'at it' over the past few years as you also rightly say.
At best even if she listened to 'bad advice' re the stamp duty initially she is surely unfit to have a top job in running a country. She is beat both ways WD. |
By:
Cider,
She cannot even speak English properly. How do you expect her to understand complex SDLT legislation written by an incompetent Tory Chancellor? Then you expect her to understand complex trust law, beneficial ownership and possibly gift with a reservation of benefit? She instructs ted an “ experts “ who got it wrong because it is stupidly complex. The question for the Commissioner is did she withhold information from the expert. A genuine mistake is one thing but negligence is another. It would be great if all MP’s resigned after this type of thing but just look at the last 14 years! |
By:
Ah right, stamp duty is too complex for the housing minister. Perhaps she is not capable of being the housing minister, let alone stand in pm. Lucky that she's never paid too much tax !
By:
Cider is right on ignorance is no defence but unlike the crook Zadawi I think she is just genuinely stupid. If an error occurred she fessed up and tried to right it unlike the corrupt Tories.
I don’t think she will go yet but that is politics not honour. |

WD ,, descendant of Mr Fawkes

By:
Ring a conveyancing solicitor and ask them if they understand SDLT
I dare you. |
By:
Once a Catholic String
One of the few to go there with the right intentions! |
By:
She was told to pretend that the Hove was her primary residency, is my understanding. Well, you don't need to be a specialist conveyancing solicitor to work out that was a lie.
By:
And she already has form with the rtb 'workaround' in the north.
By:
Nominating Hove as her primary residence was not the issue!
By:
She did that though. Not through a lack of understanding.
By:
All this cutting edge tax advice from the guy that doesn't know the UK has had a digital services tax for 5 years and thinks that Starbucks doesn't pay VAT.
By:
Yeah Johnny
You have clearly shown your knowledge on the subject Guilty of hypocrisy No smoke without fire Maybe she should have come to you for tax advice! |
By:
Who'd have thunk it, we have a socialist politician that has such complicated property tax affairs they can't even work out their own liabilities. Let alone being the minister for housing.
