The dup seem to have no backing bar 21 crackpots who believe in the 7 tests, the council of 8,the feckin star chamber.

What now? Flaunt democracy more?

Game is up and bar a small minority, the people of NI are delighted with the EU island of Ireland.

DUP have no power, they are defunct.

Rishi knows he needs europe, he's instinctively a numbers man.

I just hope the PSNI prove up to the job, Pa?

Scotland will of course want their day too.

It's amazing what the conservatives have achieved. Laugh

I think the PSNI will have to play ball, the shoe on the other foot.

I prefer to change one of your words though a great effort by all.

It is amazing what the unionists have achieved Laugh

I'm glad you get my point, I'm actually not wanting to say it out loud.

Tweedle dum and dee won't understand, or won't want to.

They know deep down, when they are reusing the tea bag for the 6th time the Scots won't be too pleased, they wanted none of it.

The ones they look up to with puppy dog eyes have given them a big phunt up the hole today. Not sense nor meaning to be going on a campaign when in brutal terms you're not wanted.

‘ I am not an Ulsterman , but yesterday ,
the 1st July as I followed their amazing attack

I'm not interested in history.Laugh

Today what matters is the union has never been weaker, the DUP are almost defunct, and a little Asian fella has delivered.

Family history is always interesting pd

Today ? here is the thing nothing can change , it matters not
what the Prime Minister says , or the American president ,  or the EU , or any party in NI or the south
Without the consent of the Unionists

29 still acting the dog in the manger. When that paltry figure stacks up against the 515 who voted with the Government it highlights how little the UK is interested in Northern Ireland / the DUP .

The usual suspects among the 29 , including significantly the 2 previous incumbents of No 10 . Lets you see how out of touch they both were . Not just about Northern Ireland too as it happens .

We'll just have to wait on the DUP telling us what the next move is.

? What am I missing? The DUP's rebellion came to nowt didn't it? The bill passed easily and is likely to cruise through the Lords.

But what's the problem with Stormont and the protocol deal? Stormont's been boarded up for - what - five years? They've said something about voting against the protocol but it passed easily. Meanwhile Stormont remains closed.

Must obviously be annoying for the Irish but it must have been cloud cuckoo land for them to think there was going to be some new brexit deal that would be right up their alley and they'd bounce back into Stormont and declare everything open.

Just wondering what power you think they have; how they're going to tell us what the next move is.

Feels like they'll just carry on sitting on the sidelines like they've done for the last few years and meanwhile Ireland will adopt this new law and move on.

PP

'Belfast Telegraph,Rev Kyle Paisley and Lord Alderdice warn time is running out to restore Stormont'

Think that is accurate enough and from their(dup) own,the UUP know the game is over and accept it.

Aka, tell me where I’m wrong then.

I don’t follow NI politics as closely as some so am happy to be corrected. I just don’t see the link between Stormont and this vote which has just passed handily without the DUP’s help. What am I not seeing?

aka, I'm genuinely not. I've never bothered with the SNP thread as I pay no attention to Scottish politics, and apart from the basic headlines I'm not clued up on Northern Ireland either.

What is the DUP's position of power, where they will tell us (assume this is Westminster) what the next move is? Particularly after their revolt over this deal was shown to be fruitless. What do they have that makes them powerful?
By:
lfc1971
When: 24 Mar 23 17:52
There we see the problem with the mindset
of people like pineapple . The DUP achieve important and necessary
changes to the protocol and he deems it fruitless
There’s little or no point getting into the finer points of such a discussion.
When even the straightforward basic things , which require no knowledge escape him

I lived and worked in Northern Ireland and my wife is from there so I
have more than a passing interest in their politics.

I'm asking a question ffs. Aka, stop running away. I'm genuinely interested to know what power it is they have. Cos, if you listen to the remainers they're a bit of a joke outfit who backed the wrong horse. I'd genuinely like to hear the other side.

the necessary changes to the protocol and he thinks they have no power.
