Of course greenwashing will become rampant, and people will lie, like your car manufacturers did.
|

Those weren't really lies. It was class engineering. Brits wouldn't understand.
|

By:
Big organisations tell big lies edy, like the boy who cried 'wolf', some people have stopped believing them at all.
|
|
By:
It's ok to be sceptical, but if someone blindly, without a critical thought in sight, constantly lashes on to complete and blatantly obvious nonsense just because it comes from alternative sources, that can't quite reasonable.
|
|
By:
Why are the planet savers not campaigning hard for de-population edy? Simple solutions are often best, there must be a reason, though I don't know it.
|
|
By:
Shrinking populations would mean less consumption and lead to shrinking economies, perhaps Governments or industry don't want to accept this as part of saving the planet.

Coal is biomass just like wood. What difference does it make when the carbon dioxide was taken from the atmosphere or for how long it has been stored? Saying that burning wood is somehow greener is creative accountancy and that is to ignore the diesel fuel burnt in order to ship it across the Atlantic ocean.

Indeed, a barrow load of emissions is a barrow load of emissions, doesn't matter where it came from, you can only release it once. A billion a year though, to make it sound better than it is

There are quite a few greens that are all for degrowth actually.
Like I told you earlier though, it is impractical. You can't force sterilise humanity. Furthermore, you'd still need to replace the fossil fuel and livestock society either way unless you go very dramatically low in total population. As global living standards improve, energy consumption and animal consumption per head are bound to increase. I.e if you don't replace fossil fuels and go back to humans eating lower amounts of (large) livestock like it used to be, your lower amount of humans will be responsible for the same or even higher emissions rather sooner than later. |

I see the latest rewilding idea is to reintroduce buffalo. Get rid of dairy cows and their pasture and fields that grow grain for this. Do not buffalo fart and belch just like cattle?

There are quite a few greens that are all for degrowth actually. Like I told you earlier though, it is impractical. You can't force sterilise humanity. ........................... They are forcing many changes on people by making it unaffordable to do things, they can easily make it unaffordable for the vast majority to have more than two children in developed countries. There is no will to tackle the subject so we will continue trying to get more from less until we simply cannot. Perhaps they are hoping the weight of people will eventually drag us a few miles further from the Sun, who knows. |
|
By:
They could, but there is that old mantra of continued growth in capitalist societies. That, as of now, is a whole lot harder to do if you shrink your population dramatically. You will find degrowth fans among the greens as I said, but they have not so far been able to convince a majority of people that recessions are a cool thing to do.
....Once we have super robots to do everything, the time of us depopulation fanatics will come though. Speaking of depopulation fanatics, don't let moisok or Jumping-cuckoo-monk hear you are one of us. At one point in time they haunted me for months just because I asked terry mccann after one of his 5G fantasies why it would be so bad to have a reduced population. |

They could, but there is that old mantra of continued growth in capitalist societies. ............................. I mentioned that earlier. Mammon will end mankind, but they'll make plenty in the meantime patching it up. |

My personal dream is actually that you forbid natural reproduction at all. Steer human reproduction carefully and responsibly, with some fancy genetic optimizations among those whose genes were chosen to be allowed to advance to the next generation.

By:
Don't let the naysayers convince you it would end in some sort of dystopia if we do that.

Amazing.
Global warming deniers have defeated science by a long list of smiley faces on a betting forum. Remarkable wit. |

Edy would you engineer wings and tails
as good genes going forward. That would be cool. |

Cot doesn't get it does he.
He's the climate change denier. It's by how much we can affect it that is the issue. We've had the doom and gloom idiots telling us that the world will end soon if we don't act. A decade to save the planet. We had the same message in the 60s and every decade since. The Maldives were expected to be under 20 feet of water by now. |

What are the chances of it freezing in uk today?
July 2007.. LONDON (Reuters) - Parts of Britain could see ground frost next week as summer weather continues to avoid northern Europe, lashing it instead with strong winds and heavy rain, according to the Met Office. After the wettest June since record began many Britons enjoyed a weekend of good weather. But more wind and rain forecast for this week is likely to be followed by plunging temperatures across the region next week as the abnormally bleak weather returns, including frost. |
