there is no ****g way betfair will get away with this if trump is sworn in - people bet on who would be president in 2021 not on cnn projections

That's not really true, you are actually betting on the Rules of the market not its title.
By:
tinyelf54
When: 18 Dec 20 16:45
in the statement on the market rules posted by the agents in the chat - it clearly states that the election could be resolved via the 12th amendment - which would be via the house of representitives which would obviously come weeks after dec 14th - theyve screwed themselves with their own statement - well done betfair - we all win Happy
By:
tinyelf54
When: 18 Dec 20 16:47
and anyway the ORIGINAL rules of the market were that nothing would be resolved UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS BEYOND ALL DOUBT - BETFAIR MADE THIS VERY CLEAR

This is a good read, detailing offshore sportsbooks odds throughout the campaign and the post election aftermath.

tiny - where did they say nothing would be resolved until everything was beyond all doubt.

They never moved from the "projected electoral votes" position,

look the fact is people bet on next president and if trump is sworn in on january 20th then he will have been the next president - the market title DOES MATTER - someone above tried to say that the market title doesn't matter which is utter bullshit  - of course it does - you cannot put out false titles and then try to rob people of their money - the market title was NEXT PRESIDENT FOR 2021 which is extremely important in the context of this situation

sorry tiny you agreed to BF's terms and conditions and in doing that you agreed

Customer responsibility
Betfair customers should make themselves aware of all of the Exchange Rules affecting any market on which they wish to place a bet. Customers should not simply rely on the Market Information as the Market Information is unlikely to contain all of the applicable rules relating to a market.

and like i said if you read the statement which these idiotic agents put out in the chat - it very clearly states that this election could be decided via the 12th amendment - which means via the house of representitives which can only come weeks after dec 14th....

It's not in the slightest important, the title is irrelevant. What is relevant is the market rules which made clear you were betting on which candidate would receive the most projected electoral college votes.
By:
tinyelf54
When: 18 Dec 20 17:01
have any of you read the statement these idiotic agents put out in the chat? IT VERY CLEARLY STATES THAT THIS ELECTION COULD BE DECIDED VIA THE 12 AMENDMENT - THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTITIVES
By:
politicspunter
When: 18 Dec 20 17:02
And you are correct to say that the election could have been decided via the 12th Amendment. That would have been in the event of no candidate having a clear majority of projected electoral college votes.
By:
politicspunter
When: 18 Dec 20 17:04
As Biden has achieved a majority of projected electoral college votes, the 12th Amendment section in Betfair rules isn't relevant any longer.
By:
tinyelf54
When: 18 Dec 20 17:05
and the market title is very relevant in the context of taking legal action against betfair - everyone knows people were betting on who would be the next president for 2021 not on some false leftist mainstream projections - there are currently 6 key swing states being contested, none of which have officially been declared for either candidate - biden does not officially have 306 electoral college points like these dum agents keep saying
By:
dave1357
When: 18 Dec 20 17:05
The rules say that the twelth amendment only comes in to play if no candidate has a majority of projected electoral votes. The ship has sailed.

What a mug CS rep says in chat might be an issue with the customer he said it to, but not the wider market.

politicspunter - please listen to me right now ok - the problem with what you saying is that biden DOES NOT have the electoral college points that betfair are saying he has - betfair are getting their information from illegitimate leftist mainstream news sources who do not report truth - this election is still very much being contested

Everyone who read the market rules knew they were betting on projected electoral college votes (won by Biden). All states have now been certified, no states are in dispute as far as I am aware. Even if Biden were to sadly pass away pre inauguration, he would still have won Betfair market.

Of course they did. I'm sure you know best. You are another person who I hope keeps betting on various markets.
