apparently not even all of the unethical pomp and circumstance of a Trump-branded White House as the backdrop of his big speech Thursday night could draw more viewers than Biden’s solemnly rousing speech to an empty auditorium

I was a bit surprised that Bidens telly ratings were higher than Trump. It's always said that Trump supporters are much more enthusiastic than Bidens to vote for their man.

I think that is definitely the main reason. Folks didn't need to watch Trump as they had heard it all before many times.

The die hard liberals are much more likely to watch TV, follow politics and go on protests.

Trump has a much smaller set of die hard supporters.

About the only way a person is able to write a book on me is if they agree that it will contain as much bad “stuff” as possible, much of which is lies. It’s like getting a job with CNN or MSDNC and saying that “President Trump is great.” You have ZERO chance. FAKE NEWS!

Some of Trump’s lies on the covid crisis

On Coronavirus Testing

When: Friday, March 6, and Monday, May 11
The claim: “Anybody that needs a test, gets a test. We—they’re there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful” and “If somebody wants to be tested right now, they’ll be able to be tested.”
The truth: Trump made these two claims two months apart, but the truth is still the same: The U.S. does not have enough testing.

When: Wednesday, March 11
The claim: In an Oval Office address, Trump said that private-health-insurance companies had “agreed to waive all co-payments for coronavirus treatments, extend insurance coverage to these treatments, and to prevent surprise medical billing.”
The truth: Insurers agreed only to absorb the cost of coronavirus testing—waiving co-pays and deductibles for getting the test. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the second coronavirus-relief bill passed by Congress, later mandated that COVID-19 testing be made free. The federal government has not required insurance companies to cover follow-up treatments, though some providers announced in late March that they will pay for treatments. The costs of other non-coronavirus testing or treatment incurred by patients who have COVID-19 or are trying to get a diagnosis aren’t waived either. And as for surprise medical billing? Mitigating it would require the cooperation of insurers, doctors, and hospitals.

Read: The dangerous delays in U.S. coronavirus testing haven’t stopped

When: Friday, March 13
The claim: Google engineers are building a website to help Americans determine whether they need testing for the coronavirus and to direct them to their nearest testing site.
The truth: The announcement was news to Google itself—the website Trump (and other administration officials) described was actually being built by Verily, a division of Alphabet, the parent company of Google. The Verge first reported on Trump’s error, citing a Google representative who confirmed that Verily was working on a “triage website” with limited coverage for the San Francisco Bay Area. But since then, Google has pivoted to fulfill Trump’s public proclamation, saying it would speed up the development of a new, separate website while Verily worked on finishing its project, The Washington Post reported.

When: Tuesday, March 24, and Wednesday, March 25
The claim: The United States has outpaced South Korea’s COVID-19 testing: “We’re going up proportionally very rapidly,” Trump said during a Fox News town hall.
The truth: When the president made this claim, testing in the U.S. was severely lagging behind that in South Korea. As of March 25, South Korea had conducted about five times as many tests as a proportion of its population relative to the United States. For updated data from each country, see the COVID-19 Tracking Project and the database maintained by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

When: Monday, May 11
The claim: America has “developed a testing capacity unmatched and unrivaled anywhere in the world, and it’s not even close.”
The truth: The United States is still not testing enough people and is lagging behind the testing and tracing capabilities that other countries have developed. The president’s testing czar, Brett Giroir, and Fauci confirmed the need for more testing at a May 12 Senate hearing too. They said that the country won’t be able to perform 50 million tests, about what the country needs to safely reopen, until the fall.

Another claim: The United States has conducted more testing “than all other countries together!”
The truth: By May 18, when Trump last made this claim, the U.S. had conducted more tests than any other country. But it had not conducted more tests than the rest of the world combined. (As of May 27, more than 14 million tests have been administered in America.)

When: Multiple times
The claim: “Cases are going up in the U.S. because we are testing far more than any other country.”
The truth: COVID-19 cases are not rising because of “our big-number testing.” Outside the Northeast, the share of tests conducted that come back positive is increasing, with the sharpest spike happening in southern states. In some states, such as Arizona and Florida, the number of new cases being reported is outpacing any increase in the states’ testing ability. And as states set new daily case records and report increasing hospitalizations, all signs point to a worsening crisis.

oh dear, trump, you might remember, denied that he asked James Comey for loyalty and that Comey's equivocation had nothing to do with his sacking, but days after that sacking he was offering the job to James Kelly "But the president added something else — if he became FBI director, Trump told him, Kelly needed to be loyal to him, and only him."

https://www.axios.com/trump-john-kelly-fbi-41678290-167a-44c2-a20a-377955485bc8.html

So the question on everyone's lips is, how many of trump's other officials have given him unconstitutional oaths of loyalty?

Amazing how you think this is a win for you, tim, drawing attention to you having repeatedly and flagrantly lying just so you can bring back your bonkers idea, that's got even more bonkers now it's apparently 4 separate accounts. I'll repost what I put up the first time you raised this though:

This is an absolutely fascinating example of conspiracy theory thinking in action. Wish I had more time to analyse it than I do. See something you don’t like: Trump polls; Covid deaths in the US; people telling you you’re wrong on the internet? These things can’t be true so you have to find a way to make them someone’s fault, ideally a group of people you already really dislike (lefties, Democrats, Jews and the groups can overlap, of course). So you blame those groups and find some vague explanation tying your disparate threads together that only you can see. Wake up sheeple! In Texas they’re multiplying the Covid cases by 17! Obviously when this is explained to you as rubbish, you do another wake up sheeple and demand that your evidence is reviewed, because err, you can’t really say why but the person you’re talking to has missed the gold nuggets in there that prove you’re right.

Of course, confirmation bias is really critical here, so once the notion that FS could be PP’s sock puppet (because how on earth could two independent people both think I’m being a fool?) you can spot that FS turned up at a specific time and that he’s once or twice used a word that PP also uses (actually wasn’t aware I used folks except occasionally to describe Biden as folksy so I may have learned something). Obviously you’d ignore that their prose styles are globally very different; that FS has quite a lot of medical specific knowledge that PP doesn’t share; has been on the forum for ages, although not much recently and mostly posts about cricket, a subject that PP has no interest in.

The projection about deflection, a little knowledge being a dangerous thing and fact truth and reason is some pretty rich gravy too.

It's more interesting to discuss how someone who obviously isn't at all stupid, in an academic and analytical sense, gets sucked into this kind of painfully idiotic and self destructive mindset.  I made the QAnon comparison a couple of times and it's about right, sadly, although obviously that's a bit deeper in to complete self immolation.

trump sounding totally sane and presidential

“We had somebody get on a plane from a certain city this weekend. And in the plane, it was almost completely loaded with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that,“ Trump told the Fox News host on “The Ingraham Angle.“

He added: “A lot of the people were on the plane to do big damage.”

Ingraham asked him for further detail. Saying it was under investigation, Trump replied, “I’ll tell you sometime.”

Another classic trump moment

President Trump on Tuesday denied that he made an emergency visit to the hospital last year after suffering "a series of mini-strokes" after a new book claimed that Vice President Pence was on standby in the event Trump was incapacitated.

The president's denial raised eyebrows, as the book from New York Times correspondent Michael Schmidt did not specifically state that Trump had suffered from a series of small strokes.

OK, all good and right thinkers, I`ve had my fun, I`ve set the traps, the lying lefties walked straight in, and now I`m about to pull the noose! Buckle up, expect oodles of squeaming and squirming!

Some of you might remember that I posted about some of my backs and lays, but the usual suspect lefties expressed disbelief that I could have done so well, that I could possibly have backed at the prices I was claiming, in the dem Nom` market. They demanded evidence.and thinking it would shut them up, I posted my backs, confirming my claims, and this was accepted at the time. Here`s how it went;

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 07:59
Tim, please stop putting money on Trump to win.

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 16:05
What`s this, the 10th? 12th? time you`ve most helpfully advised me to stop betting? Well, let me show you some of my best bets from the market that will be sorted soonest, that of dem vp, maybe you can point out exactly where I`m going wrong?
kamala at 8.2, currently 2.34
rice at 440, currently 3.4
whitmer at 38. currently 8.8
michelle at 110, currently 30
pocahantas at 28, currently 19.5
tammy at 120, currently 32
keisha at 240, currently 80
obama at 720, currently 220
Open minded and free-thinking, I`m always more than happy to learn from anyone, so all help/tips/advice welcome, thank you
.
politicspunter 09 Aug 20 16:16
Tim, how much have you bet on Trump?

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 16:18
Lol, you bet on Michelle and Barack Obama to be VP?

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 16:23
If that's your best bets, I wouldn't like to see your worst ones

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 16:34
kamala at 8.2, currently 2.34- Total matched at 8.2- £8
rice at 440, currently 3.4- Total matched at 440-£0
Hey Tim, if those bets of yours win, you just might about break even if you are lucky

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 16:36
As long as most of the £4 matched on Kamala is yours, eh Tim?

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 17:16
Well, please tell me where I`m going wrong? I`ve only seen you post once about actually having a bet, Pence for POTUS at 80/1; was my mistake in backing him at 300, just yesterday, yet he`s back to 180 now? Or was my mistake backing Whitmer at up to 38 when, despite yesterday trying to claim credit for `tipping` her, you hadn`t actually backed her yourself? Are these good examples of my failures?
As regards small amounts being matched at some of those best prices, well, I can`t dictate how much of my bets get matched, but even those small amounts were better than anything you`ve achieved!
I`m only playing six markets, with probably the best part of 20k in backs but, as primarily a layer, the biggest (so far!) are dem nom lays of Klobuchar totaling £126k, £80k michelle, £38k hilary, and numerous more in five-figures.
If you doubt those figures, screenshots are available on request; ask on here, though, don`t pm me, as I use `classic`, will never see any pm notifications. Meanwhile, looking forward to as much advice you can help me with.

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 17:25
Lol Tim, you think I advised backing Gretchen Whitmer but didn't back her myself? No need to post your other bets Tim, I have seen enough thanks. You have no idea how much I stake, you are a guesser and not a very good one at that.

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 17:28
16 years on here, 16 winning years out of 16; maybe you could use some leftie ju-jitsu to make it 17 out of 16?

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 18:00
I think you`ve posted many `tips`, without backing them yourself, in the hope that, if they shortened, you could come on here and claim you`d `tipped` them. As, indeed, you did with Whitmer yesterday. When you were asked what price you`d backed her at you, who are normally so quick to respond, ignored the question. So you did back her when you posted the `tip`? At what price?
Yes, of course sometimes only bits of bets are matched, but my biggest back is of Joe; £2,543 for dem nom at up to 20.0,

DanielKoellerer 09 Aug 20 18:06
At least Tim is talking about betting for a change, but even on this topic what he posts is fake news.

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 18:10
Elaboration, please? Or do you, too, feel I could benefit from your advice?

DanielKoellerer 09 Aug 20 18:17
You've got Rice at 440 even though the highest price matched is 350.
Most of those other Democratic VP bets you've coincidentally managed to get the highest odds matched
That's what we call 'fake news'. You're learning well off 'The Don'

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 18:27
I suggest you look again; even pp found it!
Could achieving those best matched prices possibly suggest that, when it comes to betting on politics, I don`t really need the help of any lefties? Rest assured, though, if I ever need to learn about all forms of evil, I`ll know who to ask!

DanielKoellerer 09 Aug 20 18:28
Highly suspicious that someone has managed to bag the highest prices on a fair number of candidates - some of which have had 0 matched. Come on Timmeh

DanielKoellerer 09 Aug 20 18:29
How much did you get on at 440 on Rice and why is 0 matched showing up on the graph?

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 18:30
I suggest you look again; even pp found it! While you`re looking, you might also see some matched at 370; that`s me, too.

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 19:04
The `0` means there`s less than £2 matched, so not much! When nothing at all has been matched, there`s no figure in that column

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 19:06
Daniel, Tim is correct here. Even if a penny was matched it will show up as £0.

DanielKoellerer 09 Aug 20 19:12
Ok, fair enough. However, it's still unbelievable that Timmeh has found the best on odds on pretty much most runners

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 19:45
Why? Is it because centrists like me aren`t supposed to get best prices? Someone has to get them, why not good and right thinking people? Are you doubting my bets solely because you don`t like my posts? Isn`t that somewhat prejudiced, bigoted even?  Careful, you`ll be cancelled!

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 19:52
Tim, if I posted bets where I had the best price on most of the candidates but only had a penny or so on some of them what would you think? Then what would you think if I claimed I had  £250K on another market but wouldn't post my bets?

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 20:43
I`d think that if you`d offered to supply photographic evidence, then it was probably true.
I`m not sure what you`re failing to understand? I leave bets up, sometimes they`re fully matched, sometimes partially, sometimes not at all, but surely it`s fairly obvious that the most-matched amounts aren`t ever at best prices? That you won`t ever get much matched at very best price?
And I didn`t claim I had £250k on any market; I`m more than happy with my books, but let`s not exaggerate!

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 20:49
Tim, How much have you got on the Democratic nominee market

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 20:58
Well, I`m delighted to have provided such an interest for the lefties on a quiet Sunday afternoon! Not quite getting it, myself, but if you really want to know, £10,082 of backs in dem nom market

politicspunter 09 Aug 20 21:20
Well, post your bets on the Democratic Nominee market please

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 21:26
What is your problem???

Happy to accept that Tim. Good luck with your bets.

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 21:34
`...; fair enough, let`s move on

Move on? You might think so but unfortunately not! A while later, one of the lying lefties checked the backs I had posted which, while confirming all my claims, show a loss of about 2.5k. Well, you can just imagine his glee as he discovered what he thought was incontrovertible evidence that I had lost in that market, proving me a liar! Sure enough, he was posting about it immediately, whereupon I offered him the chance to get out of a bad situation by suggesting he check what I had written, as he was mistaken in his claims that, not only had I lost on that market, but that my own posts confirmed it! Soon enough, the mob`s circling, claiming I`d lost, that I was a liar. Not sure if any of them checked for themselves or if they just believed their comrade.

They were told by fellow posters that their claims were boring and, not wishing to also be a bore, I refrained from extending the conversation further, just posting the odd `I won on that market, I`m not lying` correction to their, by now libelous, claims. Eventually, I issued a `put up or shut up` demand; prove your endless claims that I lost in that market, or stop boring everyone and shut up.

Somewhere along the line, what started as `leave them alone, they`ll stop with their lies soon enough` turned into a fun game, whereby I`ve been enticing them to repeat their claims as often and as loudly as they could.  Knowing it would get them at it, I`ve dropped into my posts numerous uses of words like `truth`, facts` and `liars`, to which the hyenas duly screamed again their lies. And, of course, the more I sat back silently, not replying, the more they took as proof of guilt, the louder they shouted, and the more I tightened the noose!

So, here we are at the denouement! To all those doubters who might have hitherto believed a good and right thinker centrist like me had, most disappointingly, been caught lying, exposed as a fraud, sit back and enjoy the final scene!

In true Columbo style, let`s look back at the clues the lying lefties missed, shall we?

The first one was;

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 17:16
`... I`m only playing six markets, with probably the best part of 20k in backs but, as primarily a layer, the biggest (so far!) are dem nom lays of Klobuchar totaling £126k, £80k michelle, £38k hilary, and numerous more in five-figures.

This is the first mention of stakes; quite clearly, it differentiates between my backs and, separately, my lays

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 17:16
If you doubt those figures, screenshots are available on request; ask on here,

So, here I am, offering PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE, an offer of PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE I referred to for the second time;

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 20:43
I`d think that if you`d offered to supply photographic evidence, then it was probably true.

By now being hounded, I thought if I posted those backs I`d referred to, it would shut them up, so;

timbuctooth 09 Aug 20 20:58
`... if you really want to know, £10,082 of backs in dem nom market

Now, as you, I, and it seems all but lefties can see, I specified that these were my`backs`, and it`s these backs that are behind all the vicious and malicious lies the lefties have been spewing for weeks.

BUT!!!
In such excitement at their `Gotcha!`,they forgot about all the `lay` bets that I had previously posted!!!!!

Yes indeedy, good and right thinkers, all of their lies about me losing on this market are based on my losing backs, and their failure to include my lays in their calculations! Yes, good people, so blinded were these lying lefties by the prospect of catching me out, they ignored the fact that the 2.5k figure ONLY included the backs!!!!! And all of this despite the fact that I had clearly differentiated between backs and lays. Despite the fact that I had posted some separate lay figures. Despite the fact that, on TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS, I had offered to produce PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE!!!!!!!

It`s been fun, but all games come to an end, this one`s run its course, so hopefully this will stop the lying lefties` lies.

I DID win on that market
I did NOT lie
For the THIRD time, PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE is available on request

In lieu of apologies, contributions to The Don`s re-election fund will suffice.
Verification will be needed, as you`re all lying lefties.

I shall be posting this on numerous threads; don`t want ANYONE to be left thinking I have EVER posted anything but TRUTH, but do want EVERYONE to see lefties suitably EXPOSED!!!.

The Daily Express is a right-wing daily national middle-market tabloid newspaper in the United Kingdom. Published in London, it is the flagship of Express Newspapers, owned by publisher Reach plc. It was first published as a broadsheet in 1900 by Sir Arthur Pearson. Its sister paper, the Sunday Express, was launched in 1918. In February 2019, it had an average daily circulation of 315,142.

It used to be over four million.

Think 280k is this year pre covid

for express during covid.

An hour and a half later, yet no response from pp/fs? How unusual, they`re normally refuting anything they disagree with in just minutes! I wonder are they reading back through everything, disbelieving that they so crassly walked into the trap, beginning to have that awful moment of realisation as the facts and truth hit them in the face? The sheer horror they`re currently feeling, knowing they`re FINNISHED, even their comrades see the truth? That they`re LIARS!!!

timbuctooth You are one desperate individual who will try and lie their way out of anything.

Whisperingdeath 01 Sep 20 18:38
Are you lying AGAIN timbuctooth?

In light of the utter humiliation my accusers are currently suffering, either of you two got anything to say for yourselves?

As above;
`In lieu of apologies, contributions to The Don`s re-election fund will suffice.
Verification will be needed, as you`re all lying lefties.`
