I`ve previously posted examples like a `17 to 1 overstating`, and 333 hospitals being caught reporting `100% positive` rates, so we know the numbers are twaddle, all part of the leftie`s campaign to bring down The Don by making things seem far worse than reality.

trump states the future of the republican party lies with racist conspiracy theorists - lets hope that's the case as it means a century of centrist politics under the democrats.

What's your contention here? Is there no Coronavirus in the US; some but not nearly as much as the nasty lefties are pretending or lots and they're exaggerating it a bit?

From the bbc...

At least 800 people died worldwide as a result of coronavirus-related misinformation in the first three months of this year, a study has found.

A further 5,800 people were admitted to hospital after being exposed to false information on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and chat apps, the study said.

The study’s authors echoed statements from the World Health Organization (WHO), which warned the Covid-19 “infodemic” spread just as quickly as the virus itself.

Most of the deaths and hospital admissions were the result of people drinking methanol and alcohol-based cleaning products, wrongly believing them to be a cure for coronavirus.

But following advice that resembles credible medical information - such as ingesting large quantities of vitamins - can also have “potentially serious implications”, the authors say.

The paper concludes that it’s down to international agencies, governments and social media platforms to fight back against this “infodemic”.

A BBC investigation, which can be read here, found links between virus misinformation and assaults, arson and deaths.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris accused Donald Trump of leaving the US “in tatters” by failing to lead the country through the coronavirus pandemic and its economic fallout. Harris accused Trump of myriad “failures in leadership” on coronavirus and running a previously successful economy “straight into the ground". This is what happens when we elect a guy who just isn’t up for the jobCry. Our country ends in tatters and so does our reputation around the world.”

I don't think you've any understanding of the significance of either of these stories but in general, linking to a lass on youtube with a conspiracy theory to sell isn't what most of us would regard as evidence.

The 17:1 is not, as far as I can tell from her brief ramblings, about reported cases but suspected cases.  The slides are describing how you designate risk groups to avoid spreading the virus and advise people to isolate, not a way of reporting someone who went near a confirmed case nd is at risk as a confirmed case themselves.  It's a typical conspiracy theorist with a poor grasp of what they're looking at taking it out of context.

The lab reporting thing is you being the conspiracy theorist.  Again, it's taking something entirely out of context, I suspect. Please explain what you think this shows is happening and how that affects the local and national data?

You `suspect` a conspiracy theory? Isn`t that a conspiracy theory in itself, with just about the same amount of facts, and truth? Despite the evidence in front of you?

I initially referred to 333 hospitals,

https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/86967?xid=nl_popmed_2020-06-10&eun=g1323917d0r

but the link in my previous post shows things have got WORSE!!!

17/1? Chortle at your lengthy dose of twaddle!

https://texasscorecard.com/state/state-officials-say-texas-coronavirus-counts-exclude-probable-cases/

`...A presentation by Aisha Souri, an epidemiologist with Collin County Health Care Services, explained the state’s new case definitions.
Souri said the definition of a confirmed case—requiring a positive PCR lab result for COVID-19—was remaining the same.

“But now they’ve added a ‘probable’ case definition,” Souri said. “So, that still gets counted toward the case count. It’s different—it’s not confirmed, but it’s still a case.”

So, when cnn report `cases`, they are over-reporting by 17/1. They avoid quoting `confirmed cases`, as those figures are much lower, (17x lower!) but even then they`re still wrong/lying, due to myriad reasons, including, but not limited to, this type of thing from my earlier link;

`...On July 4, more than 400 labs reported 100% positive cases, by July 15 more than 475 were showing 100% COVID-19 positive results, according to the state numbers...`

No, pointing out that people who don't have any idea what they're talking about and sound like conspiracy theorists isn't the same as conspiracy theory.  But if you link to a 1m youtube vid of someone who has taken a bunch of slides and is ranting about them out of context then it's on you that your evidence gets laughed at, not on the people laughing.

Do you know that labs and hospitals aren't actually the same thing?

You also know that the new article you linked to says the opposite of what you're claiming it says? It points out pretty clearly that confirmed cases are a separate measure, which is what I said when you linked the crazy woman.

trump's so called peace plan that, I'm sure you trumpeted about, included annexation.  Since it became obvious that this would cause massive resentment and was unacceptable to moderates in the region, trump and netanayu have desperately been looking for a way to save face.  The news today appears to be that, however, both parties are now, it appears, backing away from the "deal".  It looks like clown trump has just shot his mouth off prematurely again.

https://www.axios.com/netanyahu-uae-deal-annexation-plans-suspension-1fb0d2d1-8ebc-48f6-81c7-35641ba7cd09.html

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address Thursday that he remains "committed to annexing parts of the West Bank," but agreed to “temporarily suspend” those plans in order to reach a normalization deal with the UAE.

...

The other side: MBZ emphasized the halt on annexations, while taking a more cautious stance on the normalization of relations. He said they'd agreed to a "roadmap," not a final normalization deal

dave, that`s just been discussed in the presser; the agreement includes the word `suspend`. In the real world of politics, this means both interpretations are correct.

Some of you might recall that, a few days ago, when confronted by facts, truth and evidence, the most inappropriately named poster on here, politicalpunter, refused to play, took his ball, ran away sniveling, pretended to block me, having already `blocked` InsiderTrader? Well, did any of you notice that straight away, out of nowhere this `fatslogger` username turned up? I`ve never seen him post anywhere before, not on the multitude of US/The Don threads on this forum, nor on the even more threads that were on Chit Chat?
Just four minutes after his first post, pp was returning the first of an eight-post session of mutual masturbation, intended as an introduction of this `fs` character to the rest of us, with pp attempting to provide a backstory, give fs some `provenance`. Of course, we all know pp loves a bit of aftertiming, and those eight posts have both of them at it, bigly! You can find this `Reader`s Wife` style onanism on page 3 of the `joe biden delays...` thread, laugh at it for yourself.

The `fs` username has posted four times on this thread; the first contained a quote of IT, (which, just five minutes later pp found funny). The other three all contain quotes of my posts. Yes, that`s right; four posts in total, each containing a quote from either IT or me, the very same two who pp claims to have blocked! And all from a stranger, just after pp had used his `block` button!!!

Throw in other pieces of evidence, such as;

A propensity for the word `folk/folks/folksy; sure, we all might use these words occasionally, but read back through pp`s posts and you`ll see he loves them, and fs has already used them more often in a few posts, over three days, than any of us do in a year.
They `both` think they own the forum, telling us how to behave, what to post
They`re `both` snowflakes, in the extreme
They `both` worship polls; indeed, it`s all they`ve got
An utter inability/refusal by `both` to deal with facts, truth and reason, with `both` resorting to ridiculously transparent attempts at deflection. All written in the exact same style, using the same `arguments`, but always focusing on trivialities, irrelevant to the point.
They`re `both` on here every waking hour
They `both` share the same opinions on every single subject
They `both` like asking mind-bogglingly ignorant questions, assuming we`re lying, that they`ll somehow be able to catch us out. They won`t, they can`t, we`re telling the truth, yet still they persist..
They`re `both` mighty fine examples of `a little knowledge is a dangerous thing`. I`ve never encountered anyone else with actual, real levels of knowledge so far below what they themselves believe it to be, and even after being exposed on a daily basis, they persist with their tosh.
They `both` manage the unusual act of combining supreme ignorance of their own limitations with `both` being condescending prigs.

So, all of that^^^ notwithstanding, pp, let me answer your question;

Fatslogger 13 Aug 20 23:07

This is an absolutely fascinating example of conspiracy theory thinking in action. Wish I had more time to analyse it than I do. See something you don’t like: Trump polls; Covid deaths in the US; people telling you you’re wrong on the internet? These things can’t be true so you have to find a way to make them someone’s fault, ideally a group of people you already really dislike (lefties, Democrats, Jews and the groups can overlap, of course). So you blame those groups and find some vague explanation tying your disparate threads together that only you can see. Wake up sheeple! In Texas they’re multiplying the Covid cases by 17! Obviously when this is explained to you as rubbish, you do another wake up sheeple and demand that your evidence is reviewed, because err, you can’t really say why but the person you’re talking to has missed the gold nuggets in there that prove you’re right.

Of course, confirmation bias is really critical here, so once the notion that FS could be PP’s sock puppet (because how on earth could two independent people both think I’m being a fool?) you can spot that FS turned up at a specific time and that he’s once or twice used a word that PP also uses (actually wasn’t aware I used folks except occasionally to describe Biden as folksy so I may have learned something). Obviously you’d ignore that their prose styles are globally very different; that FS has quite a lot of medical specific knowledge that PP doesn’t share; has been on the forum for ages, although not much recently and mostly posts about cricket, a subject that PP has no interest in.

The projection about deflection, a little knowledge being a dangerous thing and fact truth and reason is some pretty rich gravy too.

I have blocked timbuctooth but I get the gist of what fatslogger is saying. Tim is unhealthily obsessed with Trump. He doesn't understand that this is a betting forum and we bet based on facts in order to try and make money. Our political allegiances go out the window. Tim thinks you should bet on who you wish to win which is pretty mad stuff. Sometimes he will win, sometimes he will lose.
