And you keep saying No 10 and Downing Street said this and that. Who said? This is just a hide behind standard claim by newspapers to retract a denial. Did Cummings say or did Boris say? Anything else you say means absolutely nothing. Just stirring up trouble like some of the papers.
|

Downing Street lied (or Cummings lied to Downing Street).
Dispute that if you can. Never mind your whataboutery or diversions. Extremely comfortable in my views/position. Couldn't be more confident. You need to detach yourself and look at it more factually and dispassionately. ![]() |

The fact is you have no idea what you are talking about Wallflower. You don't know who said what and you do know the Durham Police lied ffs. Their position and your position is untenable.
All you have left is your bigotry and bias. Good luck with that it is going to be a long 10 years. |

"...... No 10 statement continues -‘At no stage was he or his family spoken to by the police about this matter, as is being reported. His actions were in line with coronavirus guidelines. Mr Cummings believes he behaved reasonably and legally.’
Look it up for yourself.... or are you telling me this was not part of the original official statement. You do know what an official Downing Street statement is? I hope. So less of the "bigotry and bias" please . I told you I dont care one way or the other. But its easy to discern the facts (and most of the lies) in this case.Either Downing Street (OFFICIAL STATEMENT) is a lie or they were lied to. Its an either / or. Its not a matter of knowing what I'm talking about. Its who lied to who between Downing Street office / Cummings. Somebody did. |

Thank you for your concern for me and others, bigrust. You missed a beautiful day. |

Actually you are right United I really should thank you guys for keeping me entertained. I am at my desk all day most days now and I find this is a little light relief. Thank you.
Wallflower the press use such statements all the time when they are guessing something just to get a reaction. They think it somehow makes them being truthful but it is quite the opposite. They use it with the Royal family as well. So if your already flimsy and rubbished argument is now based on this evidence then the story ends. Don't you think? It was the press that lied. How unusual is that? |

If they had an official statement on No10 paper it would have been all over the papers.

Really Brigadier
Your position is hopeless. Most of the country knows Cummings broke lockdown and then lied about it. While he was at it he then lied about his previous work on pandemics, having been caught updating a previous blog. And none if it would have come to light except he was seen reported and exposed by the press. He is not sorry and is so self obsessed he does not even begin to doubt that his multiple breaches of lockdown were wrong, let alone have the humility to apologise to the country for undermining our efforts to deal with the virus. His excuse for spreading the virus when he knew he was ill is pitiful. His excuse for driving his virus ridden wife more than half way up England is just ridiculous, when many thousands of others with kids had to manage & stay home as he (Cummings) had told them to via his protege Johnson and the hapless idiot Hancock. His just happening to drive wife (on her birthday) and child to Castle Howard, go for a river walk, stop at woods en route back to Durham to “test his eye sight” is such a transparently stinking pinocceo that I am honestly baffled as to why anyone would possibly believe a single word. Many may die as a result of the loss of trust he and Johnson have now instilled in the British public. The Governemnts messages of how we should manage virus spread has been trashed. A more incompetent and a more wicked regime we have not endured in the UK in anyone’s living memory. And all this after the PPE, care homes, late testing, late lockdown and death planes scandal. |

How unusual is that? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "...the press use such statements all the time when they are guessing something just to get a reaction..." Ok - something you badly need to understand. Downing Street Statements are OFFICIAL communiques from the Prime Minister's Office. They happen every day - for example, the Coronavirus update you see daily are Downing Street Statements - you can read / download the transcripts if you want. It is official, recorded, for the historical record communication. It is NOT for interpretation or guessing etc. You can give an opinion obviously but you cannot adjust the message - nothing to do with the press or anybody else. The press didnt make this statement - they relayed word for word, as they must. Again - OFFICIAL STATEMENT 23rd MAY VERBATIM --‘At no stage was he or his family spoken to by the police about this matter, as is being reported. His actions were in line with coronavirus guidelines. Mr Cummings believes he behaved reasonably and legally.’ Nobody is making this up. Do you get this much? It is an INDISPUTABLE FACT as plain as day. One step at a time - straight question:- are you telling me this was NOT the official communication from the PM Office (ie Downing Street) |

Statement isn't on Government feed, so can't locate - thats interesting in itself. Copy circulated to press.
Photo here, numerous twitter and online sites quote it word for word - its very easy to find. Its not that it matters that much but just clarifying the above were DOWNING STREET statements, as I stated. https://twitter.com/iainjwatson/status/1264124644191277057/photo/1 My point is either Downing St or Cummings were lying. More likely contrived between both. But hey-ho, its hardly a surprise - career liars both. You are also missing the point - its not so much his breaking the rules as the whole attitude combined with the pathetic / nonsensical nature of the excuses that has the public riled-up as much as they are. i.e. "ok, you broke the rules - but show a bit of regret and do us the courtesy of coming up with a half decent story - this eye-test sh1te just insults 60 million people even more". |

Led by the nose Wallflower. Will you give it up. The press have made a patsy of you.

The press have been career liars since long before Boris and Dominic came along. Or didn't you know?

By:
Oh yes indeed they have, that is true But glad to see you are acknowledging Johnson and Cummings as liars.
In this particular case though we are dealing in hard facts. Press in this instance are comfortable, Johnson and Cummings are squirming. .The were forced to move from 'not wasting our time with false allegations from campaigning newspapers" to a full-blown press conference to acknowledge the substance of the story. As I said, I dont care really one way or the other - though every little thing, no matter how small that helps Scottish Independence is good - this is minor really but is helpful. Though admittedly I am enjoying it, watching the exposure ![]() |

No wonder the opinion polls are going mental just now. Labour have got the gap down to 6 (was 26 just over a month ago), the SNP polling is going through the roof (54%) which would wipe out every tory MP up there with a bit to spare. Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised that the difference in the Calderwood/ Cummings outcomes are driving these changes.
|
|
By:
Cummings reputation is badly damaged no matter what. Hated by the Tory party, seen as quite ordinary - his "performance" has been very mediocre (and that is being kind). Looks like a one trick pony.
If that is the Brexit "architect" they are going to get destroyed by the heavy hitters of the EU. No doubt. |

johnson reputation and standing has plummeted during this crisis. Wont recover.

The tory party have 365 MPs. Possibly 40 are unhappy. Do the maths ffs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok then - majority of 80. Theoretically Vote of confidence in PM or Govt - 40 vote against Majority gone. Just saying. ![]() |

In your dreams Wallflower. Goodness me Wallfower you are clutching at straws now. I gave it till the end of the week and we are nearly there.

All you have done is prove that the Police are liars and the press are liars and the BBC have have been had for breaching the impartiality rules.
You could not lose any bigger. You have won absolutely nothing ffs. |

brigust - haven't even broke sweat
. Just eased off a bit as I thought you were obviously getting frazzled defending the nonsensical - I knew you this as you were verging on getting insulting. So some free advice (to go with the maths lesson) count to ten before you hit send. If you cant be logical I wont think any less of you as long as you are civil at least. Thanks, appreciated. PP may have lost patience, but I'll persist for a while, if I feel like it. Being serious here - try and up your game a bit. Hint - more facts, information, analysis and less personal comments. Good lad. |
