How do you get balanced debate and policies from the Thatcher era majorities followed by the Blair era majorities ?
Answer is, you don't. Huge swathes of people feeling that they are not being represented for extended periods of time. And then we boil down the biggest potential change to the country in to a single Yes or No choice in a simple majority referendum. You reap what you sow, we have no history of compromise by coalition and we now have social media to deepen and strengthen the divides on a daily basis. |

They were re-running the Lords debate on the Benn bill. There were a number of wise old heads, speaking in a calm and logical manner.
Quite a contrast from the other place. I generally don't like gin swigging old dodderers but the kwality of debate is fantastic and informative |

If France did veto an extension, the UK would crash out of the EU on 31 October, unless parliament suddenly approved the divorce deal – or revoked Article 50 altogether.

And the 31st Oct No Leave market finally wakes up, just printed 1.19
It's still free money at that price. |

Brexit is problem that cant be solved unless all parties involved are included. May and Boris have made no attempt to bridge the divide the country is very divided and will remain so for a long time.

And there you have it - No Leave 31st October market has now overtaken the No Deal 2019 market. The expiry is more relevant. Surprised it took people so long to realise. I've laid a bit more back below 1.20 in case there's the shock factor.

You'd be advised to be careful on these political markets - the date of May "leaving" was a farce on Betfair - so people on here unfairly stung I noticed.
Remember Cummings (i think) said they were prepared to break the law to achieve Brexit. We live is such turbulent times so much so that those who pronounced "Brexit is law" and "Parliament is sovereign" are now saying we are more than prepared to ignore the law and parliament .Take your profit, be happy and dont be greedy - (of course, that applies to all markets I suppose, but especially these ones) |
