Thats a thing of the past Mr E. Youngsters want it now, fame, celebrity, money, the trappings, they dont want to read a history book or a novel. Far easier to shut down places that are seen as out of date and spend the money on PR and climate change officials.

they are so inward looking and imbued with the idea of what they think is service for the public and cannot see they no longer serve up what the public wants even hackney council cannot learn from its mistakes and tried to hinder the exposure of further child care scandals it goes on and on and there are no bodies or people who can break the cycle |

Because a company owned by a millionaire employing players on salaries above national average is just what you need to make sure people are aware that the council of choice if you're on the Wirral is Wirral council. |

Reagan accusing Doc C. of getting a train to Wolverhampton is the current firm favourite though. Why do councils need PR departments? They don't "need" them. But any body who is getting paid £80k per year to work in one isn't going to say so. nothing to see here. |

When something happens like a rat eating a patient, or OAPs dieing from E Coli at a Day centre, somebody has to deal with the wretched press, taxpayers, and whining relatives..
Standard method is to state the bleeding obvious like it's a pearl of wisdom. "We are taking this very seriously" (What, as opposed to having a good laugh about it?) "A full investigation will be undertaken" Normally this suffices, but if a wretch from the media does persist. In four weeks time: "Mistakes have been made" (Never we made mistakes) "Lessons have been learned" If the press still persist "It is time to draw a line under it, and move on." You don't get that sort of skill on the cheap. |

How can they justify extortionate council tax charges ,if they do not have a PR dept? and someone has to explain why the rubbish is collected only once a fortnight ,its because they can't afford to collect it weekly.

Asked and answered. I think what perplexes people is that somebody who claims to be intelligent could firstly ask such a rhetorical question.
How about we ask - why do the Military spend so much on logistics or interpreters or computers or such like - why don't they just use all the money to buy guns and rockets? I'll leave you to try and work this out now. I'm not optimistic that you will. *sad face* |
