Well I am going to sit firmly in the middle on this one.
All the people slaughtering Azer are a bit over the top, on the whole betting companies employ morons in their customer services departments ( and I should know as I work for one) and I can understand after a string of mis-managed enquiries why he has over reacted and abused them. BUT. What cannot be excused is the fact that people are rightly telling Azer that reacting in this way is not the best path to take in these situations. If Azer was saying I just got frustrated and realise it is not a clever thing to do then I would say fair enough but to try to justify his rather childish little tantrum is what makes him look like a prat. |

And before you say what about me, I've got a lot on my plate at the moment and really shouldn't be distracted, but I'm stuggling to pull myself away as I find it so head-shakingly incredulous that you are still going on about it (and that I'm still even trying to find some level of reasoning there). Ok. I M_U_S_T get back to what I was doing. Please don't respond as I will just have to read it. You are quite addictive, I will give you that. A betting shop... I wouldn't accept my customer service assistants giving out duff information and then telling the customer they are wrong. They wouldn't work in my shop for more than 5 minutes. You're a legal case waiting to happen. |

Except for the fact that I've been a company director for over 5 years, and in senior management for a Sunday Times Tech Track 100 company before that so have a reasonable understanding of employment law. And if you call going to Uni at 16 then having a maths degree at 19, and being able to count several multi-national household names and brands amongst my clients "guessing my way through life" then I can only conclude that I've got a fkn amazing hit rate with my guesses. |

AFAIK employment law applies to gambling shops too, so if you think your staff have no legal recourse against an abusive boss who sacks them without formal warning then it's only a matter of time before someone takes action against you. Everyone has legal rights, that's a given. I run a flagship shop for the company so if I get sent a customer service assistant who is not up to the standard they will not work in my shop. The company will decide where best to place them. Again why so you think you know more about my proffesion than I do? |
