i dont know any1 in this thread but if u r being staked for 6$ SNGS u r probably not 10 tiumes the player of anyone one. The fact is even if u r a great player and tilt alot then that makes u not a great player! and even if u tilt lots and lots and lots and lots u wud never lose at 25 50 cent cash and would make more than u would at 6$ sngs. u will probaly offer to ply me heads up after i post this because u r maybe a bit dissalusioned by ure ability. and if u tilt alot/ pklay drunk etc i would play u all day i guess u wud own me 70% of the time but the 30% u dont u wud get crushed! i will get a load of abuse for this probably becaus i abuse a forum reg but wotever

I hit a real low point a couple of months ago- not dissimilar from Mikes. I had to make changes. I was drinkn champange in the morning thinkn it was ok- mate said u may as well just by cheap cider. Serious ** was going up my nose an expensive pills down my throat.

Truth is im not doing great. I blew $2k 6 days ago at 15/30 hu- ** happens, dry ur eyes.

I got a text msg from an agency, id told them lies lol, now i start on the 4th- id love poker as a side income- really would- have a life etc. I hardly played for a month- blew a lot. Blew £7k returning from Thailand- where i got in a huge fight with to fellas from portsmouth- we were all on meth so if u can imagine how ugly that got in the jungle of koh phanagan.

I had to do intercontental travel with 2 blackest eyes an a broken nose an 2 broken knuckles. bad end to a gd holiday.

Its only now tho im realisin how much of a dick ive been- quittn all the guff aint easy- 22days down the road. Any other boxing night id be doing 8 balls an pulling**s- but theres one girl i like, an she'd never go with a poker player with an addiction problem.

See I dont think me a Ben are that dissimilar- bluffdaddy either- yea we can all boast like**s pure egos'r'us. I actually think Ben an Bluff (not saying his real name here outta courtsy) would actually get on quite well.

Id love to see them fight tho, think bluff has the height an killer celtic edge- Ben is built like a machine an id say he'd be prety handly in a combat situation- guess would come down to who would want it more.

You'd bout kill me tbf, im 5'11 an 13stone- (lost a lot of weight giving ** up) Next is the gym. I beat the** outta 2 chavs 3saturdays ago- id 2 black eyes but the pain in my knuckles told me they hurt more. Sad, pathetic.

Oh also watch out for that mephedrone- its cheap- well, depends on ur defitintion of cheap (Jazzy's fruit machine that didnt pay out cos hed robbed all the coins outta it- that was cheap ;p) only muckn matey he was a fantastic host and looked after us all superbly- sht i think he might of even paided us our 'winnings' dont it tho ;p that said- he'd a big party in his gaff an we pretty much messed the place up.

Ben, I do stand by my original point. It must be clear to you, as it is clear to me, that we aint gona make millions outta cards. Suppliment the income, sure- even thats hard to do tho. I played bout 20 $10 hu games an made $50- straight to cash lost $100. These are very small numbers because im startin a job on the 4th, and id like to have the discipline to make an extra £20/30 a night, for 2/3hrs play. An still have a life.

I don't know you, I dont know Ben, but this has been an interesting thread! Well done for giving up the ****, Im certain that there will be times that you struggle with it and it will probably be the hardest battle of your life, but you are getting better and I hope you succeed. You are showing character and strength, and no matter how good or bad your poker may be, it is so unimportant compared to what you are trying to do to turn your life around. I truely wish you good luck, be strong and give yourself a chance of living a long and healthy life. You go back, you die.You know that so I'll say no more on the subject. Good luck. As for Ben, I can't understand why so many people are being so abusive towards him. Again, I dont know him but he's doing something that is important to him, however big or small, and its for him to decide where he wants to take it. He looks to be on course to return a decent profit to his backers, so if this is theray, as long as its positive therapy (ie. he's building his balance), why shouldnt he make money for his efforts? His backers obviously have faith in his ability and are happy to take the risk and happy with the deal. He's being upfront with everything, where's the issue? I say good luck to him and never look down on a winning player which at this point he is.
I play live poker at the top level, I have no problem respecting this guy for making a success thus far even at the lowest levels. We all have to start somewhere.
I suspect he could have staked himelf. I think it goes a lot deeper than a lot of people realise and its not so much about the money for him. I believe that perhaps this is his way of keeping himself in check and this is how he feels he needs to do it publicallu in order to get the best out of his game and see what he can do. He'strying to prove something to himself more than anyone else IMO and so far he's making everyone money including himself.Who wouldnt want to back a winner? Until we see otherwise thats exactly what he is and shame on anyone that doesnt feel that's an achievement, whether we're talking cents or Dolars. The vast majority of poke players are losing players, this must be remembered, Good luck to him and his backers.
