slim, if a pro wins the WSOP (especially and old school, experienced pro) then the lobbiests get further ammunition for their case that poker is a game of skill. If the US make online poker legal then the standard of online players will go back 5 years. Its not so good if a rank amatuer wins, although if he does win you would want him to promote the game so other amatuers think that it could be them!

I don't really agree with any of that Baretta. But thanks for at least offering the reasoning that 6clubs is clearly so incapable of.
You seem to say that a pro winning it would lead to online legalisation in the US and therefore introduce loads of fish to the pool. Resistance to legalisation in the US is based on entrenched opinions and psuedo-moral beliefs rather than any logic. If you don't want poker legal now then merely having Phil Ivey winning it isn't going to change your mind. Also, it's not as if yanks find it that difficult to play poker online anyway. And personally i'm not bothered whether poker achieves world domination or not. I enjoy playing and have plenty of opportunity to do so. That isn't going to change just because some Donkey wins the ME. Afterall it was a donkey winning the ME that led to poker's boom in the first place. |

for those who missed it... Buchman raised from the button, Saout reraised (BB) and Buchman went all-in without consideration. Saout took his time and made the call. Buchman shows AQ, Saout showed AK with a K10 flop, K turn and rag river... Buchman in trouble now on 10m
|

Moon limped on SB with A7 and Buchman pushed all in (11.75m) Moon called. K59 flop, K turn, Q river.. Buchman doubles through
|

By:
very next hand.. Moon raises on button, Buchman pushes again. Moon shows KJ, Buchman A5... flop 9Q2 flop, K turn and river 5... Buchman bows out to a rather loose call by Moon.. 3 left

How soft are these poker players these days, they get 4 months off to recover then once they are heads up they get a day off. Just play till there's a winner for gods sake in the old days they didn't think twice about playing 72 hours straight and they shot anyone who **ed and they would beat up the winner in the backroom.....happy days.

Still don't know how Cada became chipleader, went to bed at like 7am. Remember him having just over 2mill and doubling through Ivey on pckt 4s vs Ivey's A8. He went really excited you could hear him saying he was back in it but woke up to find him chipleader, never expected it thought Buchman might do it.
