And thank you for your sagacity gents. Very welcome as always. I've learned about the lucrative nature of hoovering iin the early days of the market. Unless there is a Tony Adams/Portsmouth shoo-in scenariothose early hours/days can be where you can make most cash. Talking of which I've been having a few thoughts regarding Burnley. Steve Davis from within the club seems to be attracting attention from within Burnley. A Sbragia style appointment perhaps? I've also noticed that Mark Hughes might be in a compensation tussle with Citeh. A good early lay perhaps along with Peter Reid who only seemed to be mentioned here because of his Bolton links. Maybe worth considering a Scottish option too remembering where Coyle (St Johnstone) came from. Maybe some decent early prices on John Hughes? Burnley are also reckoned to be skint so a hefty compensation payment to another English club may not be an option as the OC payment may be needed for players. |

I thought Burnley were the ones with pots of cash but hugely reluctant to spend it? I may be wrong.
I would not oppose Curbs for a single cent. He would agree to manage Helmand Province if they found themselves in the Premier League. Mind you, they are based in the south |

Burnley aren't skint, they just refuse to use leverage. In fact, they don't even have an overdraft. A misguided approach in my humble opinion.

Burnley might not be in debt but that doesn't mean they have loads of cash. Apparently they can't afford to sign Nugent because of the cost of his wages, so can only keep him on loan. They have a salary cap of £15k per week and a buget of £5M to spend in January.
Their other issue is the lack of a sugar daddy to stick a bit of cash in when they need it. Bolton have this in Eddie Davies but Brendon Flood the Bolton chair saw his property company go down earlier in the year. |

Burnley are a very wise and well run club then. £3m from Bolton may be very nice for them, if that is the figure, particularly with a proven relegation-avoider queueing up for a job

I guess it depends on the definition of skint. Not having loads of cash isn't skint in my opinion. I think they're tight rather than skint. If they refuse to pay high wages and have no debt repayments then I'm sure they'll be doing ok with their Premier League revenue.

Didn't take a lot to do so though. I reckon there are a large number of people who have got on sub 1.3 and are currently cacking it. It won't take a lot for them to want to get there cash out. Curbs is of course an interesting diversion as all along he was said to be down for an interview today. Is this the reason for the delay? |

Yes Alex 1.6 was about as far as it went, pretty quickly from about 1pm till Burnley put their statement out. Guess Coyle was seen at Burnley and people started to panic?

it went out to 1.5 - 1.6 and the layers were rejocing saying he had turned it down then boom was thousands at 1.09 moments later sky broke the news

I just think burnley have been very naive here hayemaker. Why they gave Coyle permission to speak before agreeing set compensation is beyond me. Now they have put him on gardening leave Bolton are obviously playing hardball over the compensation. With Saturdays game likely to be postponed there isnt any great rush.
The 14 day delay is possible as Bolton think the compensation is a million and burnley 3.6 million. 14 days would take us past the Boltpon Burnley match which will be an interesting affair |
