Orioles threatening to blow it too. What happened to Youkilis earlier on by the way?
By:
He was scuffing the sand around the plate with his foot and just went straight down.
looked absolutely nothing tbf but they pulled him straight away |

Zimmerman seals it for the Nats.
Sounds crazy what happened with the padres last AB top 9th???? |
By:
can't believe sd lost that ffs

Just a good throw. A double normally scores the runner from first, particularly with two out, but not this time.

your stats and advice on extra innings has just paid dividends @ PHI

anyway the bos-tb game gives me some confidence that players out make some difference in mlb too
romero had 3 or 4 times runners in scoring position but could not hit once |

Of course Doogie, I was never trying to say that having good players out makes no difference. The key point is that most players at the major league level can hit poor pitching, so the pitcher having a bad day has more influence than a couple of position players not being in the lineup.
A lot of close games about tonight. I've had a small wager on the home teams out scoring the away teams (not my usual sort of bet) so I hope that the Rangers can keep piling the runs on. |

hope the A's hold on |

The Cardinals look a fine bet tonight to me at 1.98 currently w/Pinny. Aaron Cook has been quite poor this season (43/39 K/BB) whereas Jaime Garcia has sparkled in his rookie season.
Also like the overs in Oakland. Gio Gonzalez and AJ Burnett, two pitchers capable of racking up the walks. |
By:
I try atl too (phi still missing 4 players and remo could be vulnerable imo). Wash I try too
By:
sorry not remo - meant jamie moyer
By:
Padres and Mets for me from the games just starting, and a small bet on MIN/TOR O9.5 .
By:
tigers 1-0 already lol could be a long night for the o's. i did wonder about that 1.46 but wasn't sure if anything that short could ever be value in bb

By:
Interesting game that Wash-SD contest. At first glance 1.9ish for the team sporting the best record in the NL with their opening day starter pitching against a bloke with an 0-4 record looked a very good bet. However, JD Martin is better than his record would suggest I'd venture, only walked four batters all season. That was enough to put me off.

By:
Even by Baltimore standards Brad Bergesen has been dreadful in 2010. The Orioles can't be far away from giving up on him, for this season at least.
By:
Blimey, that bloke who fell out of the upper tier at the Texas game last night isn't dead:
http://www.ajc.com/sports/firefighter-recovering-after-rangers-566077.html Rather unfortunate choice of words by Nolan Ryan, mind. |
By:
now I try LAA and Mil - I am not convinced Lincecum found his form this season
By:
jays just scored a run even though it was the 3rd out. baffling game tjis is lol
By:
when will the LAA game start? the delay is because of rain?
By:
Raining heavily, with no real break in the rain forecast for upto four hours. Looks like a postponement.
By:
looks like COL turns the game around...
By:
I simply can't hit a winner in this sport. for the last 5 days and 8 picks... not a single one came in. Cardinals with a nice lead blow it in the end too. sick of this

Some big money backing the Rockies elsewhere, the Betfair price (around 1.75/1.76) looks excellent value to me.

Good call, Bottom_of_the_League. Whisper it quietly but I reckon the Reds are now slight favourites for the Central. This week is probably the toughest week remaining of the Reds' schedule and, s far, they have managed to pull further ahead of St Louis.
God help me but I'm backing the Orioles tonight. This is a anti-Tommy Hunter bet rather than a pro-Orioles bet. There is no way Hunter can maintain his current ERA, he has mediocre stuff. Hunter has had real trouble getting big league lefties out in the past and the Orioles do at least have three of those in Markakis, Pie and Wieters (OK, maybe 2 and a half). I also think the other shorty on the card tonight, Tampa, are vunerable. Twos on is very short for backing a struggling Wade Davis, even against the Indians. |
By:
I will try TOR today - for Min their best hitter is out and Young too and they start with a C rookie.
By:
Young is playing, Doogie, but, you're right, does look a like a weak-ish Twins line-up.
By:
Something just not quite right about the Cardinals at the moment, can't quite put my finger on it. Long way to go though, especially with teams likely to make trade moves the rest of this month.
Not sure what I'm going for tonight yet, will sort it out now. |
By:
oh yes sorry SM - i read he will miss this game. Anyway I will bet on tor
they are good at home and they have lot of big hitters |
