Match Odds One of the keys to Tottenham's superb first half of the season was their strong defence. And no-one was more influential in that than Brad Friedel. The American keeps breaking records and is a credit to himself and the sport. There have always been younger keepers at all the Premier League clubs he's been at, knocking at the door to take his place. But Friedel just keeps on working at his game, training hard, looking after his body and is hungry to keep on playing. For my money he's right up there with the very best keepers the Premier League has had. Peter Schmeichel is normally regarded as the best this league has seen and it's hard to argue with that. But after him I'd probably nominate David Seaman. Yes, of course I'm a little biased! But I played in front of him...

I suspect both these teams will have wished this fixture was away from home. That's how disappointing they've been in front of their own fans. But it's Bolton who will be playing hosts on Saturday. Let's try and predict how things will pan out. Match Odds Right, some stats for you courtesy of Opta. Liverpool have won the last 10 Premier League games in a row against Bolton. Who have won just one of their last 12 Premier League matches at the Reebok Stadium (W1 D1 L10). In truth I didn't really need those stats to convince me Liverpool are going to win this match. Not only are Bolton on a horrendous run but the inevitable happened this week and they lost their best defender, Gary Cahill, who moved to Chelsea after refusing to sign a new contract. Liverpool are under-achieving...

Match Odds / Half-time/Full-time This midweek feast of televised Premier League action kicks off with a real relegation battle. This one looks a proper humdinger at Ewood Park, and a game that many people will be judging as a battle between two managers, with the loser out of a job once it's all over. A look at the table confirms that defeat could be fatal for either Steve Kean or Owen Coyle with Rovers and Wanderers 19th and 20th in the table, uncomfortably off the pace having gone two fifths of the way through this Premier League campaign. I'm sure both Kean and Coyle genuinely wish each other well, but either will be delighted to pull off a win, regardless of the ramifications for the other man. Defeat would leave either club marooned at the bottom of the table. These...

One look at the match and you say to yourself: "There will be goals." League leaders and reigning champions Manchester United have almost been flawless so far this season. They have scored goals by the hatful and are creating chance after chance. Bolton have had a tough pair of games since that opening day win at QPR, but they surprised me by scoring so many against Manchester City and Liverpool and actually showed decent form in that pair of games. Match Odds I've got a lot of time for Owen Coyle. He has an old-school way about him and I like that. He is so passionate about football, he lives the game and that rubs off on the players. They must enjoy his work ethic and I think his enthusiasm fires them. Wanderers are good to watch, they play a passing game but can be...

The much-hyped Liverpool delivered last weekend at the Emirates and look a really good side at the moment. This won't be easy but they should get the better of Owen Coyle's men. I've been impressed with what I've seen of Liverpool so far. I'll put that somewhat disappointing first day draw at home to Sunderland down to nerves and the pressure of it being their first home game of the season after recruiting all those new players over the summer. But they were really good against Arsenal and sent out a clear message that they consider themselves more than capable of being involved in this year's title race. The fact they could bring two players like Raul Meireles and Luis Suarez off the bench, both of whom had a big impact in the match, shows you the sort of strength in depth they have...
