im not tryn to reign in on KL's outstanding form but i posted this on the football forum and there isnt many opinions so i thought i might try it here...this is surely a value bet in vauxhall conference or whatever its called in england...Newport at home to cambridge...they are top of their league and playing a team 18th. Their last 2 or 3 games they were poor but i hear they have made 2 new signings.surely a bet on home win?thoughts please...odds are 3/4 PP well done again KL

This is a very special thread so please refrain from posting that vauxhall conference bile, no distractions please. Start your own thread on the football forum. KL has the floor so lets leave like that.

I think Paddy Power got the Rathdowney match wrong because they knew Rathdowney had never won a match of any description in the Leinster hurling club championship,no Laois team had won a match since 2005 so you have to admire Keen Leader, that he put this bet up on a thread where he is already murdering the bookies is even more to his credit.
Apart from the success of this thread it teaches us the value of sneaky little each way bets which are generally hard to get on and why bookies regularly close down accounts,Keen Leader is shrewd and murdering them on price it would not take them long to learn that.
That said this is a brilliant thread and i hope plenty of ye are following it because the winners are going to keep on coming.

yea agree about the footy tips.leave this to kl and start a new one.no disrespect etc.it only has a few days left so lets keep it pure!!

I disagree that the thread teaches the value of each-way bets as only one horse (from the seven selections so far) has placed without winning so win-only betting would currently be yielding significantly more profit

If KL was worse at picking the winners then maybe each-way betting would be more appropriate!

Fair point DB1974 but the each way part of the bet is also yielding a profit and is a safety net,it would have needed a fall for Just A Par to be unplaced, its why the bookies hate those bets.

TWARY showed more than enough on his debut in a novice event at Haydock to suggest he has strong claims in this company on this AW debut. Swift Bounty may be the main danger.//   Racing Post

I emailed a friend early yesterday and predicted Just A Par would be kl's bet, not that I can predict many of them but because my own research led me to the same conclusion: at almoost 4/1 on Betfair and 1.65+ the place the horse was an outstandingly "safe" bet.

I didn't profit accordingly because I don't have the "set up" in place i.e. no dedicated bank,no betting strategy that is almost independent and takes out the vagaries of winning and losing bets. Over-betting a loser each-way on Saturday was the real cause of my failure to bet.

In my opinion (obviously) most punters will lose even if they have a confirmed profitable approach and the reason is failure to treat betting as serious investment and instead it becomes a fun or hobby pasttime. (extra bets, too much on, chasing losses etc). A thread like this is very informative and should be a help to anyone trying to make betting pay or, at a minimum, keep losses to a minimum.

The only way to bet professionally is with a bank, a set strategy and a dispassionate approach once you have made your selection, decided on a bet and arrange the bet to protect (as best you can) your capital.

I too disagree  with db1974 in that I would regard place betting as extra insurance and there is nothing at all wrong with regarding the place element as a separate investment fund that has a lower return on investment criterion.

These prices are generally available but I don't know how you could bet the nominated horses each-way on a regular basis without running into trouble.

well done
