with winter time about to descend upon us, i have decided to set up this thread for both some fun and also as a guide to others. what sort of guide you can deduce at the end.

for 20 racing days(excluding the sabbath), ie until saturday 3 weeks, i will come on here and put up what i regard as the professional bet of the day. all will be non handicaps. most will be priced 5/2 to 6/1. punting, successful punting has 3 key elements: judgement, luck and discipline. we all fall down on the latter, which in turn is effected by the player's mindset/psychology. it is important to "collect" frequently for a positive mindset, punting non stop 10/1 losers, weakens it, backing many 4/1 shots e/w tends to return often, even if placing results in a 10% loss on stake.

anyway i will post at 12 noon when the early morning market is mature and the bets are BOG.

20 days, 100 e/w a day, means we start -4000, lets try and retrieve with the smartest e/w play of the day.

day 1: ifandbutwhynot  12.30 newcastle, 3/1 BOG, 100 e/w.

keen leader, good luck with the project but your strategy lacks the one critical factor, as described in your opening post - Discipline.

If you don't mind KL I will keep a running total of the win portion of the bets at the same stake to compare to the each-way betting (it's topical at the moment)

Obviously if you prefer I will fook off Laugh

Win portion: +300

Good luck KL, good start.

We need this to be a winning thread because of late even you have looked like an ordinary everyday losing punter.  No doubt this thread will re-establish your reputation.

Best of luck, hopefully only positive posts on here, fair play for putting your head above the paraphet

Fair play for putting your head up on this one, KL, but for me, with the greatest of respect, this is a weak-minded approach to betting. If you can't take losses on the chin, move on and be unaffected for your next bet, then you'll never make the game pay, or at least not as well as you can.

Each-way betting is generally a poor proposition compared to win only and, even in a case like this where you are selecting in favourable e/w races, I reckon that 200 win at the same price will result in a higher profit/lower loss than 100 e/w on each selection will. Best of luck and I'll be following with interest.

I'm all in favour.

Love these bets, missed the boat today coz of work as usual.

Any chance the tips could put be put up on someone's twitter page?
Much more accessible than this forum.

Cheers.

Correct price is 10/3 at the time of posting, to make sure book keeping is correct, as Lads cut to that price 5 minutes before KL posted.

Good start to the thread and should aid the promotion of your tipping line.

From the outset I have maintained this thread will yield profits and decent ones at that so I hope my next points will be taken the right way and are in no way a criticism of the opening poster.
This thread will illustrate to all why accounts get closed even losing ones,he has only come up with three selections yet we can all see we are dealing with a shrewd punter who is going to exploit any price mistake,it doesnt matter whether the horses win or not the bookie that laid those bets knows the odds are heavily against him so he simply won't play anymore.
Another long term point of mine is the problem for the real good punters is not the identifying of winners but the getting on.

day 4.  no suitable bet today, you cannot force it. so money back.

i will settle on 5/2 for yesterday, returning a monkey, and with the deuce stake back today.

account stands -2740

definite bet on wednesday.

NOT AN ANTI/CLIMAX M8..I think its called  discipline.
By:
reb
When: 30 Oct 12 15:59
Indeed it is called "discipline", Frank, and I'm pleased to see it as my post at 12.24 on 26th Oct (above) indicates. The expectation for readers of this thread, from K.L's opening post, was that there would be a bet on each day except Sunday. I'm sure that this, allied to his great start, resulted in a lot of people checking this thread for his tip today, hence my "anti-climax" reference. I hope he has lots of winners, but, more importantly for me, I hope I'm lucky enough to have backed them. I very rarely, blindly, back other peoples tips but this thread is interesting.  I'm happy he didn't have a bet today.
