".to win a gr3 will be a struggle..imo" Brave call Rico. There are a few soft ones about. Like the way he settled last night. Think 12f is fine but it opens the door for 14f where a big win may well be easier.

Timeform has awarded CH a 106P.
Mullins won the Ebor recently with Absurde nd Ethical Diamond both winning off 104. Interesting to find out what the handicapper gives him. |

without knowing the horse,s background what other flat horse gets 106 for beating 80 rated horses 2 lengths ?

A PERFECT 2⃣ from 2⃣

Widely accepted that the start stop pace wasn't condusive to a CH star performance, or anywhere near it. Slowly run.
Would probably be better off a strong pace with his kick at the end. 12F could be his limit though. Who knows really! Jury still out. |

Beautiful horse andI’d be sending him to France where he can dictate from the front whilst the French jocks snooze on ground that he’ll like.
Dubai Future win the Dubai Gold Cup G2 last year at the age of 9 He beat Double Major a multiple group winner! They walk over those trips in France so a step up in trip would give more options. Age is just a number! ![]() |

By:
you can't get anywhere near a mark of 106 imo
reiterate what I said after southwell...raw performance fig from CH is 92...+7-10lb for ease of victory run to mid-high 80s at best last night so his rating comes from southwell run and after last night you'd be the lower end of the 7-10lbs pounds probably 100 |

how this horse moves maybe get away with it on a/w so september stakes is possible target
but turf will need cumberland lodge ascot october soft or cooper clerk watered sandown hurdles track gordon richards april meeting...I don't see him running on anything quicker or being good enough for anything better |
|
By:
thought oisin settled him far better 1st run as well
|
|
By:
Sectionals are interesting, he ran the fastest time he has ever run ever over 40 mph on the 2 nd last furlong, we could still get a good price as a lot are dishing the run
|
|
By:
1st mile v moderately run led to sprint from the home turn
last 3f are not that flashy considering how the horse is being talked up |
|
By:
kempton 12f
34.86s is not even in the top 30 since we've had official sectional timing kalpana 33.43s in september stakes for comparison 8.5l quicker up the straight |

Some are saying he is not up to winning a Melbourne Cup. Its only a h'cap, ffs!

Pitmans derby more realistic if well h/capped.

whats the sept stakes worth ?

Wnr got £51K Last year.

Pitman's derby is unlikely because he won't stay 2 miles on the flat and that race typically has an emphasis on staina as they get racing all the way up the straight IMO.

Moore reckons he's pacey enough for Group races over 12F.

In the RP, Henderson says he's looking at the John Porter. Then down the line, the article suggests the Irish Leger and the Prix Royal Oak (though it's not clear if those are suggestions from the writer or Hendo). Hendo does say the horse will have a summer break, will not run at Royal Ascot, and that there are races in France, Ireland and Germany to consider.

The Horse could have been a contender if he was sent on the flat a few seasons ago....Not now imho.

duffy 1 Rico 0 may get the irish leger trip. don't see him winning a big one over 2 miles including pitmen's

Not saying he could not run well though.

The hype over this horse is totally stupid.
The horse is the human equivalnet of just uner 40. Now, is it lilely that a 40 year old human athlete, who is novice to an athletic event, is goling to beat anyone aged from 20 to 25? It is possible, but unlikely. But that is probably what C Hill will have to do. Also, the horse is going to be jumping from Class 3 novice company to a Group 3 race. I just cannot see him making that transition at age 9. Two further points A/ They can forget the Melbourne Cup, not because the horse will not be good enough (which he is highly unlikely to be anyway) but because the Aussies are now so strict on the health of horses before the race. Remember, O'Brien having horses excluded because of 'shadows' on their x-rays? A 9 year former hurdlwr with some history of niggling, albet minor, injuries will surely not be allowed to run once x-rayed. B/ I cannot see why the horse will not have the pace to win over 2m on the Tapaeta in the Pitmen's Derby. Of course, his handicap mark will dictate his handicap future, but surely a 2 miles really quick Champion Hurdler could cope with 2 miles on Tapeta? He may well struggle on grass, though. I concede that. Unless the horse is showing some kind of magic on the gallops, I cannot belive how naive Henderson appears to be over this animal. And, in my view, he is leading the rather innocent owber up the graden path a bit. It has been known for trainers to do such thigs!! I have seen it first hand but cottoned on before it cost me too much cash.... Sad to say, I now want the horse to flop on the flat, be safely retired to a nice home somewhere, and all the stupid, stuopid hype to stop!!! |
|
By:
It's ironic how when he was fit and well as a younger horse with the jumping world at his feet they chose to wrap him tightly in cotton wool, remember his barnstorming Supreme win and how it was toyed with the prospect of taking him to Ireland to face Honeysuckle, but no, not a chance of derring do back then.
Fast forward a few years and the cotton wool seems to have been lost somewhere as the horse continually throws himself to the ground and they continually send him back out to do it all over again and then when that route is finally extinguished they come up with a final desperate throw of the dice as they try to cling on to past glories. They had the horse that could have given them so much more when the sun was shining, no point trying it now when it's pi55ing down!! |
|
By:
At the age of 9 Constitution Hill isn't going to improve. I applaud the decision to retire him from the jumping game though because you can only play Russian Roulette so many times until the luck runs out. The public seem to have taken to the horse though and I can see no harm in that. Us grizzled old cynics know the score of course but on this occasion? Turn a blind eye and let the public clap and holler for their hero.

knight , Sea Pigeon won an Ebor at 9 under 10 stone. Then 2 champion hurdles at 10 and 11. " I cannot see why the horse will not have the pace to win over 2m on the Tapaeta in the Pitmen's Derby" Nearly always a thorough stayer that wins it don't think he is one.
|
|
By:
Class might give him some chance though. Sea Pigeon didn't really want the Chester Cup distance but won it twice.

More and more Grinches appearing. No wonder this country seems to be immersed in a sea of depression these days.

... I think it is the way the media have built up the hype that some folk find annoying Loper, I couldnt care if the horse wins the Arc or a Banded race, that last race looked average at best imo.

More and more Grinches appearing. No wonder this country seems to be immersed in a sea of depression these days. Couldn’t agree more, the first day of the flat is back, Young Albert the fastest thing he’s ever had is going over 7f and no one talks about that! Or the Group 1’s in Dubai ![]() |
