Another load of pointless hype about a novice stakes worth £6400. A certain horse is entered and called an intended runner so we are all supposed to be frothing at the mouth. It looks a much easier race than on his flat debut when there was at least some uncertainty. I suppose he could refuse to go into the stalls this time but I imagine it will take a couple more runs before the novelty wears off.

He may pick up a decent handicap somewhere down the line...but if the handicapper does his job he'll have as much chance as many others.

If I had a horse with this National Hunt trainer I'd be asking for reassurance that my horse is getting as much attention.

Why does this horse running bother so many on here?
It is not obligatory to watch it

The horse has 25lbs inhand of the rest. What's the point of this race? To message the horse's ego or the connections?

Would anyone be betting on it? As for me I'll not. I like the horse, but non-event races are killing the sport. I'll not be watching.

Connections, pls find a race more competitive and relevant otherwise the affection for the horse could turn into a negative and backfire on you.

It’s because the horse is a flawed genius.

Nearly all sports fans are magnetically attracted to a flawed genius. eg George Best, Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Could be right saxon. Not me though. He was a good horse for 2 seasons. Big deal, there have been dozens  of horses that have achieved what he has.

RPR of Constitution Hill is 105 (106P on Timeform). The others in Wednesday's race are on 80 or lower. Therefore, Con Hill has 25 pounds in hand.

Of course, that rating is based on Con Hill's 10 length victory on his only Flat outing, where the third horse, Gambino, went into the race on 76 and ran to 80. Ten lengths at 1.5 pounds per length over 12 furlongs gets us to 95 and the Post handicappers seem to have added 10 pounds for luck or visual impression or skilled judgement or something.

its OR is subjective and Classical Allusion with normal improvement is better than an OR 80 horse.

imo.

What would you add Ramruma, considering the less than perfect trip, a bit of early keenness, and not close to being asked for maximum effort?

It all hinges on how fit CH was, how many of his opponents were as fit as him? 100 seems reasonable and fits with a jump rating of 140 which is conservative. How many of the other trainers decided to have a punt at the crazy prize money at Southwell with horses that would not normally run on the flat? Tomorrow will not be very different apart from the much lower prize money. I suspect that the Balding runner will be ready but it has a penalty for a previous win. It is not the likelyhood of CH winning that made me post the original comment but the needless hype caused by all of the press coverage triggered by the announcing of a plan far ahead of the day. I can understand the course trying to capitalise but why would you pay to watch a formality of a race rather than pay the same amount to watch a real contest?

I don't think the hurdle rating is relevant. Obviously he was a lot better than the bare form. How much you add is judgement, 10 is not unreasonable in my opinion.

Hemdo will be gutted if CH doesnt at least achieve a 100+ flat rating, as it seems their 2 main  targets are the Ebor & MC [Ebor  you usually need to be high 90s & MC 100+ to get in]....did it run to 106 as timeform think? that depends on if the 2nd fav ran  its race [previous 2 runs suggest its at least a 90 horse]....kempton will tell us more

Hendo will need to be shrewd and not get CH past 100 pre Ebor or he will just run into a well handicapped Mullins dark one half his age come the day, get CH near 100 give him a rest and ket him take his chance come the Ebor, impossible backing him ante post with Hendos record of moving the goalposts, firm ground scuppers the plans anyway.

Nicky has stated that the horse will have the summer off, when the ground is likely to be quick, and be prepared for an autumn campaign. Can't see a midsummer trip to the Knavesmire being part of that plan.

This assignment is a complete waste of time. Nothing but merely a publicity stunt after his connections shameful mishandling of his runs post the consecutive falls.

That is the puzzle loper. Who is driving this endless hype about a horse that has won a novice race getting weight from the placed horses at Southwell. Presumably Kempton and Virgin bet will be happy.

Henderson shopping round top jockeys for someone who will tell Con Hill's owner that his Melbourne Cup plan over the wrong trip on the wrong going at the wrong age is absurd and if he wants a holiday in Australia he should just jump on a plane.

Remember Rico I’m an artist and so good with my hands, as such this sort of question needn’t be asked! After a bit of slap and tickle from this maestro the prep is done and there’s no congestion of flow like in the straight of Hamooz!
