Horse won't know what hit him. This race is all wrong for him on so many fronts.

slickster 19 Feb 26 10:28
The race is tomorrow frico not today. Plenty of time to decide how to play it. Mr Henderson and Buckley should retire him. Too old for the flat.

acey deucy 20 Feb 26 09:17
He would lap this lot in his Pomp but like i have said he is a shadow of his former self....Lay like yer life depends oan it lads and dont forget tay thank me.

He didn't beat much, but that was still "wow"..

I don't believe he is a group 1 flat horse, but a flat career is the way to go imo.

If he could jump as well as in his first two seasons he’d win this years CH by a distance.

But surely the John Porter at Newbury is the most likely next target.

I think he’d stay 2 miles on the flat and in high class company, but no further

He’s not going to beat the elite over a mile and a half on the flat

So in my opinion if he were mine it’d be the Champion Hurdle

I also think The John Porter is a good call.

He can only reach legendary status by doing something special in the CH but its a risk

Top notch hurdler at his best but surely they won't risk him again after what's happened
in the last few runs.
He's obviously not mine but if not retiring I'd keep him for some more flat races.
The crowd loved it tonight.

This is what I posted yesterday..... Get in! Can Oisin ride him in the Champion Hurdle rather than 'Point to Point'

If CH goes to 2-1 I think that's a terrific bet. He has a high cruising speed, the distance for the flat should be perfect , he is a big horse so 9st 6 will be nothing for him + he has a world class jockey onboard.

Megan was orgasmic after the race..Said that CH was a group 1 flat horse.

Oisin , no feet in stirrups , one hand on reins ....Nico rarely has that ....

Always remember plenty in Horse Racing said it was a stupid idea and they didn't even see that it was a positive thing for Horse Racing as a whole.

Well that went the best possible way that any true racing lover could have wanted, unless of course one has/had reasons to wish Henderson/Buckley and the horse ill will ( bit of a weirdo if that's the case.....anti posh?).
I had no bet in the race....no need to, was just soooo hoping that he did what he actually did....just like some on this thread. An emotional and joyful experience for me Happy
Others had an opinion that he wouldn't do what he did and that's fair enough, opinions are what it's all about. There really is no need though for some to slag off Nicky and/or Nico on a regular basis......past it, stone hands/point to point etc ...and if it's done as a wind up or for an attempt at humour....well it's not funny.

So where now?...I think he will go to the Champion hurdle, win it(fingers crossed), and then go onto a summer flat campaign. Again, just my opinion.

I got a feeling from watching the interviews that Mr Buckley wasnt all that keen to send him back over the hurdles again. It really is a massive decision.

Happy to see a good horse perform layemail but a few old racing fans like me will be horrified to see a race put on for the benefit of one horse, one owner and one trainer. Races should be a level playing field or we will see a lot more smaller trainers quitting the sport. If it had been run for £8000 I would have been happy enough but £40k!!! Don't these people have any shame? Well done to Jack Jones for taking fourth prize money at 50/1. The horse to take from the race was Nardaran who flew home in fifth. Willie Mullins has to take his back to Closutton with a large bill for the owner.
