Has Henderson said anything after the race?
By:
Semi joked about the flat. Heart broken though and at a loss to understand the pattern the horse is into now
By:
Yes.He is mystified why the horse has developed guessing at them

Semi joked about the flat if turns up in the gordon richards stakes next start on cooper watered g/s, same field as last year...are you over or under BSP 10? |
By:
Hendo said he'd not ask the horse to do it again.
By:
Now, only when it's too late will they realize that they should have done more with him when he was on top all in all he will be remembered as an unfulfilled talent with one single signiature race .
By:
Wrap them in cotton wool and they'll get soft, bred to race so race them.
By:
Yep laid back a bit of my tiny Arkle bet at 50s , as posted on here rubbish at 500 .
By:
change of yard would actually be the last throw of the dice. though exceptionally unlikely, obviously.
Cant see it happening Cider, but those were my first thoughts, give the horse to Skeltons for a complete change of scenery / training methods / feed etc and see what happens. Obviously the trainer and owner have too strong a bond for that to happen. |
By:
.. Well done Foyler.

There is more chance of Delbert being a member of MENSA than a change of Yard

Gutted again that I was right LP? Whilst you talked in romanticised cliches and didn’t really contribute anything as you never do!

Delashay • November 29, 2025 11:50 AM GMT uptheirons • November 29, 2025 11:14 AM GMT Relative peace and serenity whilst Delbert was in his Secure Unit. ASonOfWottonBassett • November 28, 2025 8:33 PM GMT I'm still relatively new hear. Do you contribute anything to the forum apart from pathetic trolling? ASonOfWottonBassett • November 28, 2025 8:43 PM GMT You appear unwell. I'll leave it there. Replies from. one of your next targets last night when you had no one else to bother with! Everything is relative and I’d say give it a kick someone as the needle has gotten stuck for some time LP! Laugh Uptheirons • November 29, 2025 11:27 AM GMT The CH that won the Supreme would pick these up and carry them. Wow that’s some statement! Laugh cliches come easy to you? Can you tell us all before the race where his career went wrong? What they need to do today? Was it the jockey? Was it tactics? Was it not having much scope? Or being over rated? There’s a few reasons for you |

Absolutely packed today, tweed suits all over...
Good to see racing thriving at Newcastle. Rain held off until after fighting fifth Sad to see constitution hill chasing after field, riderless put could have been worse... Surely they cant send it out again, |
By:
He still has a huge engine and you can tell he loves to gallop from his enthusiastic way of going. He's not had a ton of racing and I believe he can still make his mark on the Flat
By:
Flat would be good.
By:
At the very least you'd see him enjoying his Racing again. This is all I'd like to see him do now.

It doesn't take long to get the thicko Delbert into meltdown, does it

The King of C&P now thinks that he knows more than Hendo

Be very interesting to see how it fares on the flat and would be great to see it taste success their enjoying it's racing again
By:
there's a lovely photo of him pinging a hurdle at newcs without a jockey on the rp site
By:
The horse will be a 9YO in a months time.
Clutching at straws springs to mind |

Horses that reproduce their best form for 3 seasons are rare enough. 4 seasons even rarer. Not unusual to spit the dummy out after a couple of years at the top. I owned a share in a horse who was a great jumper for 3 years but then went to pieces. I still wonder if horses lose some of their eyesight-not completely but like most humans it might get worse. It would explain a lot of falls. The New Lion showed a different worrying trend. He looked to run out at one hurdle. I can't see Mullins running Lossiemouth in the mares hurdle in March.
By:
Good points.
By:
the horse still thinks he's capable of doing what he did 3 or 4 years ago. his body won't allow
can't see the owner wanting run in 2k to the maiden winner on the flat only 2 options retire or give the xmas hurdle ago |
By:
If CH sees Nico again he will go on strike and refuse to run
![]() |
By:
TNL looked beaten to me when it fell, going left handed like that just before the fall
Anzadam not the horse they thought it was/is if it couldn't pick up the pieces here. The closeness of Nemean Lion at the death throws a bit of a shadow on everything. Golden Ace very honest horse who has a handy habit of nearly always being in the right place at the right time Constitution Hill shouldn't face a jump from now on,they've got away with 3 very heavy falls in the last 4 runs and would be reckless to go again. |
By:
Blaming Nico is pitiful,tanglefoot
By:
there's good analysis on itv twitter page CH changes leads on the take off stride...that is the jockey imo
By:
for whatever reason be it padded hurdles or he's lost confidence from the initial fall or something else...he needs proper handling now & punchestown was fine after 2 hurdles

Got the lay up
But take no joy in downing CH that way ![]() Gold cup flat route ? Couldn't put him over a fence again surely Health risk to a great champ |
By:
I just think back to the fighting fifth was it last year or year before...hendo had eloise watering g/s, soft pl ground
By:
It is not a new flaw.
He did it at the last when winning the Champion Hurdle in 2023. He got away with it that day and in the International hurdle last season. Sadly 3 of his last 4 runs he has not. Some of the comments blaming the jockey, the trainer, the tactics are ridiculous. It has always been there. He did it on debut in a point to point. |
By:
One poster believes that a jockey looking over his shoulder sends the wrong message to a horse.

Telling comment from Nicky when chasing was put forward as an option. "Someone would get hurt. We won't do it" I suspect from this that they have quietly schooled him over fences some foggy morning and he's no good at it. This leaves a flat career or retirement as the only viable options left. A shame really.

a flat career at 9? no way hose...

You'd have to roll the dice. Not ideal obviously. Poor Buckers. Pretty unlucky owner
