What is up with you CC ?

This was a good natured thread with forumites sharing fond memories of their younger days and then you come along with your usual bile and spite, adding nothing of note.

Please just give it a rest.

As far as I can see the person responsible is granny who could not resist trying to politicise it, agreed?

If you are referring to the BBC comment nanny made then i fail to see how politics come in to it.

We all grew up watching sport on BBC but it has little to show these days outside of major events/tournaments.
No Grandstand, Sportsnight, Racing, Golf, Cricket etc.  The BBC coverage used to be very good, not so these days.

I believe CaptainCristy to be a lonesome divorcee with a social circle the size of a polo.

If you look he is either bitter and seething first thing in the morning which would point to a guilt hangover, or approximately 1630 onwards when the racing has finished or approaching done where he has most likely done his absolutes again.......You really do not need to be Poirot to quickly work out these muppets.

Tell us CC, did she get the house and you got the dog?

The way this thread has disintegrated speaks volumes about why there was an appetite for the original subject matter to begin with. It might be easy to see the past as better than it really was, but I'm pretty sure it was better than the cesspool of life in 2025.

All these things were about in my childhood (1980s), but was County Durham so probably counts as 1970s, if not earlierCrazy

Panini Football '86 was a rite of passage. The smell of those stickers, getting a foil....nostalgic, though we do tend to filter out the bad memories

Bad memories were few i'm sure....but then again we were just younguns who knew little and didn't care for much.

I don't doubt we would all love another go at it.

Imagine knowing what you know now.

How to talk to a lass, politely.

How 14 litres of aftershave on isn't good Laugh

How to be subtle. How to smile and be honest.

No need for the BS...just be yourself.

How to dance like you don't care rather than feel every step and look terrible.

God knows I made a pig of most of it in my youth Blush

You live and learn

This thread took a bit of a downward turn!

Anyway, childhood going into adulthood in the 70s...What about home brew kits?
Took ages to get it all started, then had to leave it bottled up in a cupboard for a week, then poured it out... Tasted like pish!

Horatio, no need for after shave for me
Just natural good looks and charm
I was fighting them off

Home brew kit...tried it again in the mid-noughties, thinking, with greater know-how, it would taste fantastic. Did everything suggested and waited with anticipation...still tasted godawfulSurprised
