Now he's alleged to have told Mr Rust this.
Hannon: "I talked to Sheikh Mohamed Obaid this morning, I don't think the Moulin...it comes a little quick and I don't want to go to a race like that off the back of this so close to it. I'd love to go to the Breeders Cup. I honestly think he'd go round there like Sclextric, but then again you're relying on getting a good draw and if he does that he'd have early speed and with two bends he would be able to kick off the last bend. I always thought he'd be very hard to beat in a Breeders' Cup Mile. We've got to think of him as a stallion and I think it's essential he wins somewhere." The reference to "Scalextric" is professional suicide, and desperation; the horse has had 3 attempts to win, coming up short each time thro' no fault of its own. And, now to America - a totally different ball game at the end of possibly its final season. I wonder if Mr Hannon has ever sought the advice of Hannon (senior) on this matter. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Old Hannon thinks that junior is a dick like everybody else..

A point of view few of the rest of us will not have considered and, now that you mention it,…….highly likely to be right.

Probably if Field Of Gold is retired prior and prevailing ground is no slower than good. I hope he shows up too rather than in Americano.

I think his days as a top-draw trainer could be history. The handling of Rosallion left a lot to be desired last season. A match to Hendo and Constitution Hill.

Choice of riders would help tbh.

Is there any current trainer who took over from their old man anywhere near his level as a trainer?

Willie Mullins has done OK.

Joey Sticks O’Brien has won races that his father has dreamed of winning with far less ammo.

Gary Moore has done much better than his father Charlie Years ago Charlie also used to run a used car lot on the side in Brighton and I looked at a car he had up for sale. The rear doors were held together by bale string stretching across from one rear door to the other as one door would not close properly. I asked Charlie about this and he said 'just treat it as a 2 seater and you be all right'. Charlie was ok he used to go down to Black Horse pub in Rottingdean a coastal village near his stables and point to all his drinking buddies to what the chances of his runners were and overall a good judge. |

Hannor Jr IMO looks to be decline, be very lucky to keep hold of the Obaid horses given the mess he made of Rosallion last year.
