Could not agree more Uppy, I just don't understand the jealousy of someone who is clearly doing nothing wrong apart from attending a racecourse, punting at a racecourse and giving some very gentle and fun feedback including some of his selections.

of course but you dont always get to see them on busy daze

bore alert; i singled out dixon for that reason and this; id backed one a t a big chog ice ew but he said it was playing up and very sweaty, on a cold day at nott. i bailed for a small profit and it was duly tailed. handy to hear and saved me a good few quid

I’d say the Dixon bros, have forgotten more than he knows
I don’t see any jealousy on here, just people pointing out
You can’t make it pay, what he’s doing, unless you have a crystal ball?

He not doin anything for nothing, he’s claimed himself
He’s trying to get as many followers as possible, followers eh ffs,
then try Making money out of that?? Tipping line I’d imagine?

Come back in 6 months, be amazed If he’s still on the road? We’ll see ??
If he’s in profit in 6 months, I shall congratulate him, and apologise.

Don’t do any form of social media, but I’m sure it’ll be pointed out to me?

He has been honest in declaring he would not attempt to make a living from punting.

Credit due there.

Nothing, from what I can see he is not charging, thats not to say Poncho is not right and that may well be the future goal.

I think half the problem is that these people are instantly labelled "tipsters"....

For me it's an inaccurate description. I've never given a tip in my life, but I've given an opinion a thousand times.

The title of tipster is old and often what causes these sorts of discussions.

If you are called or labelled a tipster you are instantly thought of being both over confident and a liar about anything to do with who you know or your finances.

It is also the not knowing that sends people loopy. That is no doubt why people always want proof of a bet.

Basher on an honest days punting nearly always discloses his bets both win or lose and in that removes the mystery. You can bet your bottom dollar if he didn't he would have been getting 10x the abuse on here that he possibly has done.

Jealousy is an inherant part of this game. It has affected me on occasions years ago.

I just can't see why we lose the ability to appreciate somebody else doing well. Good luck to him imo.

Well having seen a few of these videos and it’s not hard to realise who knows the game 80% don’t know it and claim they do but this lad doesn’t bluff he tells it as it is and he does punt on the racecourse and I think it’s genuine, so good luck to him, if he is going ew on 7/2 that will just be for his stats/ advertising, isiris used to do 7/4 ew and claimed it as a winner if placed lol, as we all know it’s not possible and the facts don’t back it up to be profitable, he would do better doubling his stake or backing two than using ew but he has to appear profitable in print, the shear smith guy from the daily Mail article now that’s a bluffer he tips favourites and claims wins but no long term profit,

I think the two questions most punters ask a winner is "how much did you have on?" or "what price did you get?"....

Poncho. I post stuff and leave it because there's not enough hours in the day, or minutes in the hour I want to waste reading the torrent of negativity I know will follow! The interviewees talk to me for free and I post it for free, it's supposed to be entertaining and interesting, there are full time professional punters in this series and plenty more on the Betting People series. It's up to people to make their own minds up, If it makes you feel better to waste your valuable time to post on here that it's all bollocks, feel free but don't expect me to be glued to it. Have a great day, I'm at Ascot where I'm going to make up bets that Star Sports never actually took, spoiler alert for X this evening. Thanks for your time, Simon Nott.

if he is giving tips for free fair enough ,  I've seen him  before on those chelt previews  where they have a panel of 4 giving tips /opinions ,if he is successful going it alone good luck to him,  lots of followers on YouTube means some income from there so may not want paying for tips ,I don't know how it works but  more followers /clicks think the dough starts rolling in when you get into the 1,000s of clicks .

Regarding the negative posts about backing each way at 7/2 etc. I'm an on course bookmaker. You are very welcome to come and look at the decimation in my book with these 8 and 9 runner novice hurdles when it's 1/2 the field and the 2nd favourite 7/2 or 4/1 and is 1.2 a place. Which is why we're not 7/2 - 4/1 the 2nd fav but enough on course bookmakers are. These are the make up of races he talks about backing each way on course - not anything blindly at 7/2. If you think that's a mug bet I would be very happy for you to lay me these all day - I'd never need to leave the house. And if you tried to back this sort of thing with 365 your account would last about 10 minutes.

One incredibly shrewd on course bookmaker backed an 11/10 shot each way recently on course (2.12 in the win book on Betfair). It was 1.06 a place. He got pelters for it - the place part of the bet was as good a value bet as you'll see.

he,s on course punter with ex,s, ,he,s not going to pack in punting if he goes on a 30 bet run losing,  because he backs his judgement,
including his EX,S  3 out of every 5   of these so called filthy ew bets have to win or he,s losing anyway,so why lose 40% on your winning dirty ew bets, if enough dont win ie 65% of them all he,s doing backing ew is extending the period before he runs out of money

1stTP you are making a lot of assumptions about what this guy does but do you actually know what his bets are? I have no idea and never heard of him but the so called experts on here have been derisive about ew punting like you have but few if any bet like that exclusively.

Maybe he sees an ew as preferable to an odds on shot on occasion making sense, check the competitions on here and you will see how backing odds on shots is a quicker way to bankruptcy than an occasional ew against them?

So he doesn't arb (which I think is the right decision) but if you look at the arbing options he would have if he chose to do so, he could just take the profit on every one. If you're backing something at, say, 4/1 on course and the win book is say, 5.3 there's a small negative there but he's got half his bet on the place at, say, 1.8 when it's often around 1.2 a place. I can assure you that if we laid £500 each way in this scenario our book value would be absolutely annihilated. Therefore the punter has tons of value.

If the punter laid his £500 stake at 1.2 it's costing him £100. He stands to win £400 for the place part of his bet. The value is insane.

if you listen to the interview tagged on here,he countsa 3,s/7 to 2 place as a o,6% win,where i,d count it as a 0.4% loss,he,s swapped a £200 for £160
he,ll then argue he has the win part and has done with me ,in that scenario in my eyes
he,s swapped £800 return  for a £560 return
and like a say oncourse punter like him with ex,s, 65% of thses so alled filthy ew bets have to win anyway or else he,s losing
all a matter of opinion

fatty must feel strongly about this as its moved him to action after 13 years on the sideline

good to hear from you. more pleas

CagliariG - I only know him from him being on course and laying him from time to time so I know how he bets but it's not up to me to share that. I'm talking generally that if you are backing 1.2 - 1.3 place shots at 1.7 - 1.8 you are going to win over time regardless of how you play it unless the win part of the bet is terrible value. As I say, feel free to come on course when there's a 1/3 shot in an 8 or 9 runner race and I'll show you the damage to our book if we went these sort of prices however a number of books will and there is value to be found.

I don't feel strongly - I just saw it on Twitter as I don't come on these forums. I thought I would try to explain from a bookmaker's point of view. I did my best. See you in another 13 years. Good luck
