this is the one where he counts an ew at 7 t0 2 is a 0.6% win ,where i,d say and debated with him that its a 0.4% loss, he bets on course so has expenses so needs at least 2 out of every 5 of these smelly ew,s to win to make it pay ,so why would you halve your win stake, if 2 or 3 arnt winning your not making a profit anyway and getting 1.6% of your money back is just delaying the inevitable, its like swapping 10 quid note for 6 pound coins

These interviews have become worse in the last eighteen months or so, and this one is the worst yet.
To start with, I am out racing 4 or 5 times a week all year around the Midlands and Yorkshire tracks and have been since 2013. I do not recall ever setting eyes on Mr Derbyshire. But then anyone who spouts such nonsense is hardly likely to attract my attention. If he is, indeed, a pro backer then he has still to learn the lesson that only those who survive at the game learn early on - namely, keep your profile as low as possible. But the reason most never learn that lesson is because most never last and I guarantee that if Derbyshire is genuine, he will be gone at game within eighteen months. So come on Mr Wingerwanger, please find some proper people to interview again! |

"was group one and 2 action at sandown/haddock sat" that's the first racing quite a few successful punters would put a line through. If your game is to take on favs with big question marks about them run of the mill racing offers more opportunities imo

howard...I agree with your first post in response to my observations but do not understand the next one (the repeated one).
Yes, you are spot on. Taking on questionable favs is generally more effective at lower levels. Hence, you appear to be disagreeing with Mr. Darbyshire (not Derbyshire as I called him!)? But then you say you think he is pretty sharp? Now, he may well be but from what I have watched on YT his thinking is not that original. However, whether he is the best thinker on the planet or not, my point is that he should not be telling everyone about his methods. Best to keep quiet and leave others wondering - if, indeed, they know of you at all. But I suspect the ability to keep the lowest of low profile comes more easily to those of us who are older and who have made our money already!! Actually, a good example of keeping a low profile comes with the England cricket team and 'Bazball'. Not the fault of the coach or the players, but the media have made such a fuss about Bazball that, I suspect, other top class sides have now worked out strategies to use against England's preferred way of playing. We saw it in the last Test just finished. India knew Stokes and co, wanted to bat last so made completely sure the total required to beat them was utterly out of reach. That left England without a strategy in their second innings. Their mentality is to attack and not defend but the latter was the only requirement on the last day. I further suspect Bazball has been rumbled now and it will prove harder for England in the future to win this way. Hence, because the media over publicized Bazball there is now an issue. It is very, very rare that exposing your methods of operation does any good in the long run!! Take note, Mr Darbyshire.... |

They put up completely mythical prices which if by a miracle you happened to get on win or lose the account wouldn't last 10 minutes.

Cricket I don't follow for one second ( along with golf ) Depends what the guy has an eye on. A position with ITV was mentioned. What does Cumani know ? She doesn't bet. But to your point. What about Timeform Jim who was on C4 for years and was by most accounts a successful punter with pretty large stakes. Hardly low proflie.

From what I have seen of SD, he is self depreciating, makes it clear he prefers the courses up North (wouldn't attend Ffos Las on a freebie as he hates it), I am assuming due to travel and he goes racing daily. His "tip" or opinions as I prefer to call them are on you tube every day and there is no cost.
I completely get someone not taking to somebody but he seems incredibly pleasant and honest to me. Each to their own however. |
|
By:
No idea about his tipping capability but I often bump into him and he’s the sort who would sooner do you a favour than put you away, which isn’t the norm in this game.

I never look for tipsters opinions. Each to their own |

By:
indeed ironman
i dont look for them but i know soem are to be listened to because they go racing daily and make a living doing so. hence im interested what someone on course who has a clue telling me a certain beast is a mess or double fit eg, m dixon is not a mug |
|
By:
I can spot a horse sweating like the Peckham Pouncer or a 2YO who would fit on a charm bracelet myself Mitolo.
Dixon is not a tipster and I will always note what he says when On Course because he makes it pay |
