The former Royal Marine commando is married with three teenage children and lives in a smart £300,000, four-bedroomed detached property on a neat estate.      Getting nearer the ego profile now.

No drugs  .Why was the car attacked before he hit anyone is the Question ? Wasnt an Object slung through the back window ? The window was broken Prior to hitting the main crowd

he had talked to people  Surely they knew he was local Guy ?

Hardly excuses running over babies prams.  Why didn't the tough guy get out of the car and confront a few drunk scousers ? Cos he's a Royal Marine coward.

My "guess" is that he set out with no ill intent, made a bad decision that found him in amongst the crowd, the crowd reacted badly to him, attacking his car, he then panicked and whilst trying to extricate himself, panicked/lost it...causing injury to many....is that about the long and short of it?

more ego than courage that's the bottom line duffy. Royal Marine can't have one of those on attempted murder charges can we Charles ?

Yes Getting out of the Car and finding a Copper might have been the Right Idea , who knows could be a PTSD case has Just completely lost the Plot

A very sad outcome for all involved

Anyone else remember the two British soldiers who accidentally got involved in an IRA funeral parade? They panicked (understandably) but in the end were dragged out, beaten, stripped and shot. Duffy's take on the Liverpool incident is quite plausible.

The whole thing sums up the world we live in that people see a car taking a Wrong turn and assume he is a Mass Murderer

Doyle, 53, is a former Royal Marine Commando who currently works in IT, according to his LinkedIn profile. Companies House records show he has been associated with several now-dissolved retail businesses, including a home-run mail order venture named Farout Caps.

thing is if he's a totally sober Royal Marine and there's a few well oiled scousers shouldn't he have had a bit of a go before police arrived ?  That's what the Russians might think.

Freeze, fight or flight. Chose flight, not a good idea when there are thousands of people in the street.

The friend claimed the driver's wife, who is a Sunday school teacher, and children had since left the £300,000 family home, on a smart estate in West Derby, a suburb in the city.

Today a mechanic who serviced the Ford Galaxy involved in the attack also said he was shocked when he saw the vehicle on the television news.

Steven, who asked for his surname not to be disclosed, said: 'I saw the pictures on the telly and just went 'Oh my God' I know that car.

'I had serviced it three months ago and there were no problems with it and I took it to the garage for and MOT certificate.

'The bloke who came round was with his wife and eldest kid, he was very proud of his car, it was his pride and joy, and he kept it immaculate.

Don't touch my car you drunks ?
