Guess he might actually take some responsibility for his accounting/payout mechanisms from now...seen as 3k made him cry so much.

There's a common denominator applying to both Geoff Banks and Katie Price    Happy

A piece of advice for Mr Banks. May I suggest anything over £1k another clerk will have to certify/endorse before paying to the winning punter. This way any clerical error is significantly reduced.

It's high time Mr Banks moves on. I firmly believe crying over spilt milk is not cathartic or therapeutic.

Must be half a story.
Makes his workman (and himself) look a fool for a bit of free publicity.
His team made a fck up, give a lump of money away and reports the punter to the police as a thief. Come on, that's not the real world.
I'd say to openly call a man a thief, you'd have to be 100% sure it was premeditated.
As noted here, bloke could have been hammered drunk, picking it up for his mate.
If its right he said on twitter, 3k is nowt and he pulls it off every gaff midweek dog race. Then why worry, very cheap lesson to improve staff communication.

I don't think this will end very well for Mr Banks.

are we expected to feel sorry for bookmakers ? they have no qualms shafting punters with the sudden drop in price an hour or 2 before a non runner is announced so as a rule  4 can be enforced or are we supposed to believe it is all coincidence !

Don't add up does it. How many "lumpy" bets does he take? 5 10 20 odd. Whatever. ANY payout of 4 figures and above must surely be meticulously checked. Why was this 3750 payout not?

They've just conducted a poll and he's overtaken Katie Price as the top UK attention seeker    Happy

How many times will an on course bookie quietly pack things up at the end of the day knowing he's holding half a dozen winning tickets for a few hundred that the pissed up brigade have missed or forgotten about, never to be heard of again?

I worked at a popular British betting regulator - who shall remain nameless - a decade or so ago. They made a lot of noise about player fairness etc, so I raised the point of sleepers and how bookies were profiting from unpaid winning bets to thousands of pounds. They couldn't have been less interested.

When I was a student temping at a bookie in a couple of summers one of the managers would approach the regulars with sleepers. They were so grateful, and never complained about wrong prices.
