he best take it up with his boss, that's what he called anyone handing over 3750 instead of 375
By:
that's where banks loses the crowd
his clerk makes a mistake ,he,s a devastated broken man if a punter made the same /similar mistake he,s an absolute FOOKING moron/thief banks cant and never has been able to hide his contempt for his customers/punters |
By:
banks on Twitter the money means nothing to me I win more on any midweek dog race
so admitting he,s burried threw a trusted friend/clerk under the bus in public/racing post for clicks over something that means nothing to him |
By:
Put it down to experience as my dad used to say. This way it's less likely to happen again soon.

Warrackhuunt
@Warrackhuunt @geoffbanksbet much speculation as to how u paid out the £3750..can you please clarify how this happened? TIA. Rico |

Detective wazza on the case
I don't think we've heard enough info regarding this |
By:
banks on Twitter the 100 quid punter was an experienced punter, who was betting with the joint in 100 units through out the days
so not the scammer banks has been claiming in the last 48 hrs but the story will probably change again tomorrow |
By:
so they hand over 3750 to a bloke they new was betting in 100 quid units
By:
banks now also saying they've seen him before Saturday in the ring, a regular face in ring would seem to rule out any form of scam, yet for no reason given by banks as of yet they handed over 3750 instead of 375,
all we really want to no is, what were the potential payout written on the slip ? |
By:
computer processed..knott ritten.
By:
1tp
I'm guessing he regrets putting up the post now Not getting the sympathy he expected and now not willing to expand on the facts All imo of course |

the dealer 27 Aug 24 18:34
As many as he can I would guess if the price is bigger on here. dealer, iirc, his betfair account is suspended because he refused to comply with personal info requests. |
By:
3 grands a lot of money but if as banks is now saying,
he,s a grand a day ,regular ring punter who,s face is known to them, its peanuts compared to the bloke ,never been able to walk around the ring again punting ,if banks latest comments are right ,I predict the punter will return the money |

Thanks George

The Money Laundering Regulations set out thresholds which, if customer cash transactions reach these levels, require a casino operator to apply customer due diligence measures. Not sure if the threshold is the same for bookmakers, but for casinos it is around £2,000. The threshold applies to the wagering of a stake or the collection of winnings.
When you look at the level of fines being issued for failing to comply with Money Laundering Regulations, I'd say losing £3,750 is the least of his worries. |

banks on twitter
this guy is a regular well known to them and its only a matter of time, complete stranger 48 hrs ago, that well known they thought he,d won 3750 for numerous 100 quid units bets throughout the day |
By:
Who ever did that should be warned off.
By:
as should any bookie who has ever underpaid a punter.
By:
anyone got access to the story doing the rounds on Twitter where banks refused to pay out on a greyhound bet, seemingly on the basis the punter had access to more information than GEOFF BANKS
By:
professional WELZHER calling punters thieves for a mistake by his employee who banks thinks is an utter moron

1st.
The workman is one of the nicest guys on the tracks. Hope you are well .wish I was. Ronnie. |
By:
My dad was an oncourse clerk for many years in the 30s through to the 60s so my thoughts are very much with the clerk in question.
By:
Sparrow I think Banks would have been the clerk.
Look for the white umbrella |
By:
Ronnie, I assumed the workman you referred to was the clerk?
By:
Sparrow.
In the old days the guvnors were on the front of the joint know most of the guvnors are clerking behind the joint. Ronnie. |
By:
Yes Ronnie I suppose I'm a little out of touch with the modern on course markets. I just remember my dad stood behind with his book in hand which all seems far too long ago.

does banks have more than one pitch at York/other courses
he was a seeming to say on X having mutiple pitches tends to lead to possibility of more mistakes happening , does he mean less staff at joints spread out across more pitches |
By:
1st.
Sure he only has one. Ronnie. |
By:
cheers Ronnie hope your feeling better soon

Have stuck the old Dog bet thread up for you.
By:
He wonders why he hasn't had any sympathy for his 'crying' - grow up man.
By:
Guessing he wishes he hadnt gone public with this now.
By:
cheers Glasgow just read it
even now on banks Twitter feed this is been written up as though they new the results of 1st few races before betting not that banks didn't notice till after 1st few had won |

GB should heed the proverb "let he has not sinned cast the first stone"
By:
Reckon this Banks character has been given far too much attention on this forum , may as well start another thread on Katie Price for all the attention seeking difference there is.

A bookie whinging is a bookie with an ultra superior self-interest attitude of the game. A professional trader makes a mistake every now and then. This is part of the parcel.
Any comment from his fellow professionals at the course? I'm fairly certain a similar predicament has happened to some of them too. |

By:
When i first read the Headlines, i naturally thought someone had approached him with a gun and robbed him
By:
Hasn't he always been a bit of a drama queen?
Some respect for him though, because if I remember correctly he does not have any of the "wheels & reels" nonsense on his website, just a sportsbook - and I cant' think of many/any others that aren't taking the opportunity to snare as many degenerate addicts as they possibly can. |

3750 should have been ringing alarm bells to the cashier
there's no way Banks would lay to lose that much off a single ![]() |
