Yep agree 100%…and pass on from one undesirable to another……

Most of us could see a certain blogger punt decent cash at Cheltenham no Q asked……

whys a bookmaker any different to any white van man doing a job in your house, hairdresser, shop, ebay, amazon, a million internet firms etc,etc
By:
I doubt any bookie needs personal information to clean out Seaside or Quixall, they do it daily and have been for decades going by their records on here!!
By:
Personally I pay white van men in cash.
More seriously Amazon Ebay etc have my debit card details and address but Betfair have that. I wouldn't send my bank statements, utility bills to Amazon either. |

By:
be mad to hand info over to regulated/licensed bookmaker but apparently answer is for many to hand over millions to blackmarket bookmakers, trusting them to pay out/uphold rules etc,etc
By:
Just honest appraisal Quixall!! Btw have you a strategy for the opening day of the turf when fitness etc etc is an unknown for seasonal debuts etc?
By:
Very few first time out here, unless Newmarket send them up north against the moderate….
By:
Maiden punts can be found at Newmarket with the second string from the big yards….normally a good price in the place market….
By:
Obvious you don’t rate seaside ….who do you rate Cagliari ?
By:
All newcomers in the Brocklesby and my point being that you stated this was to be a turning point and you will not know anything regards fitness etc whether they are Southern trained or otherwise in any race?
By:
I wouldn’t touch the race with a rusty washer…..
By:
Punters hear it year in year out, burning up the gallops, catching pigeons, gaffer likes him….Bla Bla Pee ffs
By:
People on here prepared to trust all sorts of supposed bookmakers with their money when they think they can pinch a point or two so they may as well give betfair their bank statements.
By:
The valuable things are address, bank account numbers and credit/debit card details. Most businesses have some of that from anyone who uses the internet but they only need to know one. Booking.com automatically fills in my card number because I have allowed them to, Betfair transfers winnings to a nominated account etc. I keep 99% of my funds in other accounts than the one I use for those transactions so if a bookmaker wanted to know all of my accounts I would stop using them straight away.
By:
Planet earth is all high risk now,1.01 people who put in long card numbers along with the three important ones on the back will automatically think….will I won’t I…….
Best to keep a second account for buying purposes etc…..transfer from the main….. |

I wouldn't be handing my financial details to any on-line bookmaker.
If the past 20 years have shown us anything, it is that regardless of supposedly being "licensed and regulated" by a (completely incompetent and out of it's depth) quango, they have all proactively behaved despicably, dishonourably and dishonestly in their pursuit of profit at any cost. If you doubt this, just enter the words "Bookmaker Fined" into any search engine! You only have to look at their "customer service" to imagine that your documents would end in some far flung cess-pit of a country being pawed over by low paid agency workers with an enormous rate of attrition. But to add some balance, it's not just on-line bookmakers that have been in a race to the bottom as far as cutting costs is concerned - if you are a consumer of gas, electricity, water, broadband, telephony, mobile telephony, insurance, banking, etc, etc - your details are probably already in the hands of low paid agency workers in some far flung overseas cess-pit. |

Yep…..100%

The banks have all your information. Do you trust them?
By:
I certainly trust my bank, along with most large companies……you have to….
Been with the same bank since day one along with telephone and power company,no issues…and Sky…. |
By:
Please do NOT send nothing.
By:
They already have it, I wouldn't worry too much
By:
I noticed people using cards at farmers markets etc, surely a person must carry some cash….all those little white Wi-Fi machines…..

i had a barclays gold credit card about 25 yrs ago with 25 grands worth of credit on it although never used if for more than a couple of grand and always paid balance off at end of month
was in turkey on holiday once and always bought the wife a bit of gold ,ear rings, bracelet etc,it had never dawned on me what info comes up when a card goes in to the machine, but after spending £700 to £800 on some jewlery, the bloke wasnt letting me go saying there was still over 20 grand left on credit card to spend in retrospect seems obvious available balance comes up but made me wonder what other information shows up on the card reader to anyone who puts it through the machine |

Formof.. How can you trust the banks given the scandal that led to us having to bail them out and
the current 'debanking' fiasco. |
By:
The problem is that any institution or company delegates the most mundane jobs to the least reliable staff. In a perfect world they would only allow strongly vetted people to see customers accounts but it is anything but perfect and as we know, anyone looking for a quick £100 can sell this stuff to crooks.

I trust my bank First Direct implicitly. They have a no quibble refund policy on almost everything bought with a credit card. Their app is brilliant, their staff are brilliant on the phone. They even put all the letters for my qualification s after my name on my cheque book. The best company I've ever dealt with. As far as bookies- meh. But I have come to trust BetFair over the years & have had nothing but good service when contacting them on chat.

In the end, one has to give in to technology & learn to have just a littkle trust. As a very old timer technophobe, I was very resistant to apps, online shopping, booking holidays & flights on the net. Now it's all so easy, & with the refund promise by my bank, there's not too much to worry about. Although I do draw the line at phone calls about accounts I don't have & offers if employment from China in return for my bank details & claiming my inheritance from an unknown via a Nigerian solicitor.

Stay away from telephone cr00ks
Told me I had won a car…..yeah ffs…..park it outside and put the keys through the letter box…… |

@slicer
I am with First Direct too, since the 1990s - they literally could not be better - the only organisation I have a relationship with where I prefer their telephone customer support to doing it myself. |

Agreed Mr Longbridge. They're absolutely perfect.

what a helpful man did he ask you if you wanted 5k on the 2-30 ? |

was flinging all sorts of gold at the wife whilst trying to force feed me tea, i bolted for the door whilst the shop was still busy,or may never have got out with credit card largely intact

There was one time that I was appreciative of credit card fraud. I was in a relationship with a lady at which time the credit card was stolen. I never reported it because the thief was spending much less than the lady was.
